Trial is set to run from Nov 3-14. Opening arguments begin at 9 am Nov 3. Article indicates lots of evidence is still coming in from analysis, which may expand the witnesses called.

Was there ever any possible motive mentioned? I have dipped in and out of this one.

Yes, the killer is claiming "self defense". He had no wounds, and Dustin kjersem was "overkilled" to the point people at the scene thought it was some sort of wild animal attack.

@georgiajean - just wondering if he has a hearing date before the 10/21? TIA!

This is hardly a surprise. Larger, more complex cases that are high profile are better managed by State Attorney office. Bozeman, MT has literally had a population explosion in the last few years. The local prosecution is overwhelmed with cases.

Seriously. Where would this self proclaimed "Neo Nazi", who apparently killed a man who gave him a beer, get a fair trial? Dustin Kjersem was "overkilled" to the point it seemed like a wild animal attack, rather than being killed by a human.

Helena? Billings? Missoula? Glasgow? This was huge news in Montana based on the brutality of the killing, and the fact that the victim, Dustin Kjersem, was a local man, well liked by people in the community.

I don't see that a change of venue is going to make much difference here.
