Don't forget the young boy, Max DeVries, who went missing in Aruba on May 12, 2004. His body has never been found.

Thanks, I wonder why he wasn't on the list?

really like to know if boat was in that area.

I would think in Aruba, it would be fairly easy to arrange a boat, either by 'friend' or paid stranger, to pick RG up in a location where they would "blend" and not be noticed. If this was a situation in which she was complicit, her general friendly "vacationing tourist" demeanor and banter wouldn't have set off alarms.

Also, IF she was complicit, the final text to RF saying "we will work things out when I GET BACK" may have been intended to deflect attention away from a real intention to NOT come back.

Good question
Also, i thought Amy went missing off of a cruise ship, not docked in Aruba
I may be confused about that

I do agree that your thoughts have crossed my mind, thanks to a friend who brought it to my attention

I just can't settle with it yet

How would she hide? Distinct tattoos and a face thats been all over the news

I give this theory a LOT of credibility, especially IF it is true that GG paid nearly $600 for the insurance, IF Robyn really signed it herself, IF there is a bonafide witness, and IF Robyn knew GG had violent tendencies. Maybe, just maybe, they together were going to enact insurance fraud scheme on the cruise, Robyn got scared the preplanned "rescue boat" wouldn't really rescue her, and backed off. Maybe, just maybe, she negotiated something that felt "safer" to her. Just stepping onto a boat from dry land might have felt like it reduced the odds of a "double-cross".

Does anyone know if the fraud is perpetrated in a foreign country, is that crime chargeable/punishable in the USA? What exactly IS the penalty?

Another thing to consider: IF Robyn was complicit in an insurance fraud scheme, there are some odds they "planned" it together, but she may have not survived anyway because then GG gets to keep 100% of the cash-out. Having Robyn's complete cooperation sure would have made it a LOT easier to "disappear her" for good instead.

Is that the child who went sea-dooing with a man that he and his family met on the Island?
That is so sad

Yes, that's him.

Good questions! Do we know how old the tattoos are? Could they be part of the "plan", intended to be removed after? Were they maybe henna tats, refreshed whenever needed? Would the loss of hair extensions, hair color, and any other possible "recent" cosmetic changes possibly make her look SO different she would not be noticed?

Several people have successfully done this very thing for YEARS before they were discovered. One married couple even allowed their own children to really believe their parent was dead and were only caught when they reunited years later. Kiddos NOT happy.

Lots of places to blend in. Not too hard to work your way back to US by boat, small engine aircraft, or combination, no documents needed.

Just look at people like Whitey WhatsHisName ( sorry, can't remember, too many allnighters in a hospital with very ill loved one). He was Most Wanted for ages yet lived pretty much in the open.

This makes so much sense to me. A few years from now detectives hopefully will have this easily available.
Right now it is just Sherlock in Germany.

German police are planning to use vultures to locate dead bodies that sniffer dogs can't reach.
They will attach global positioning system tracking devices to birds and get them to find the corpses of people who have disappeared in remote areas.
Policeman Rainer Herrmann said: "It was a colleague of mine who got the idea from watching a nature programme.
"If it works, time could be saved when looking for dead bodies because the birds can cover a much vaster area than sniffer dogs or humans."
Vultures have a keen sense of smell and are able to detect the scent of rotting flesh from 3,000ft up in the air.
They can even smell remains in woodland or in thick undergrowth and cover vast tracts of land.
The first bird, Sherlock, is currently being trained to love the putrid smell of dead human flesh.

Wouldn't the defense have a field day with this . I mean vultures have bald heads for a reason because they like to get thier hole head in there .But wouldn't that be contamination of the crime scene . Now if they were really thinking they would be training parrots so they could ask the bird heck the parott could even take the stand and be a witness .

I am not bashing Aruba here. I was looking for Aruba information and found this site which also lists the snorkeling spots. Just thought that I would share it just in case someone was interested. If any remains are found during this search I truly hope that the families can lay their loved ones to rest.

I lived in Jamaica for awhile and I'm aware that misssing people are not location specific. Don't really understand your reaction.

Thanks. I appreciated the links and found them interesting.

Best laugh I've had all week! And I REALLY needed it.

Then again, maybe we shouldn't laugh at this idea!!!!!! LOL

(OT: I had never heard of Max DeVries so I looked it up. Reminds me of a case mentioned in 'Protecting the Gift' about a woman whose son was befriended in a mall by a man who said he had a son the boy's age, would take him to the arcade, etc. The last time the mom saw her son, he was walking out of the store with the man... :()

Giordano appealed his continued detainment through his court-appointed attorney, Michael O. Lopez, and a panel of judges will hear his arguments today at 11 a.m. If the appeals court agrees with prosecutors, Giordano will be held until Oct. 30. If the appeals court disagrees, Giordano can walk away a free man, said Ann Angela, a spokeswoman with the prosecutor’s office.

ORANJESTAD, Aruba – A Maryland businessman is going before an appeals court in Aruba, hoping to reverse an order jailing him as a suspect in the presumed death of his travel companion.

A spokeswoman for the Aruban prosecutors office says authorities are confident they have enough evidence to continue holding Gary Giordano on the Dutch Caribbean island. But Ann Angela says it's possible the court could order him released immediately. The three-judge panel is expected to rule at the close of Wednesday's hearing.

Giordano is seeking to overturn an Aug. 31 ruling that ordered him held 60 more days as a suspect in the death of Robyn Gardner. Giordano says the 35-year-old woman from Frederick, Maryland, was swept out to sea while snorkeling.

What does that mean "walk away a free man"?

...or temporary free man?

If the panel rules aganst the sixty day detention, could they demand he stay in Aruba?
Or would he be completely free to leave the Island and do as he pleases?
