Ashley dighton 19years old found deceased by sainsburys ashford kent

15 years ago on the 21st june 2007 my brother was reported missing it wouldnt be till a month later on the 11th of july that ashley would be found badly decomposed behind sainsburys in woodland in ashford kent.
On 11th june me,my ex partner laim,jason and my brother ashley all went to town as my ex and jason had an appointment and liam had to buy a phone charger for his phone everyone apart from me was drinking that day they had brought vodka and coke.
After town we made our way to sainsburys at this point everyone drunk apart from me, ash had drunk so much he throw up on the way before we had got to sainsbury liam,jason and ashley had walked off and lefted me standing on my own ashley,liam and jason was talking bout something i wasnt sure what it was about but ash came back over to me and told me to leave liam i asked him why but he didnt reply at this point jason was really annoyed and told me him and ash was going to fight this had happened about 5 mins before we had go to sainsburys.
Once we got to sainsburys liam and ash grabbed a crate of beer but i told ash to put it back as i didnt have enough as i took the crate of beer off ash,Ash walked out of sainsburys this was around 1.45pm or 2.00pm that was my last sighting i had of my brother ash.
10 days later on the 21st june ash was reported missing due to thinking he was either with my sister or friends no one had seen or heard frm ash. One of our family members also stated that he saw ash being bundled into a van near the jobcenter in ashford kent but when police checked cctv from that location ash was no where to be seen.
The security guard had said ash was very drunk but didnt argue with the security guard and had said he was going home to which ash made his way to "the dip" (was called the dip as people used it for a quick route to get to sainsburys)and walked up the other side.
A month later on the11th july 2007 police dicovered the badly decomposed under some branches that someone broke off and used to try and hide his body. From the waist up ash was skeletonize his arm was missing and his head was gone 100 metres away they found a bag in this bag contained ashleys t shirt and attached to the t shirt was a rib police believe the person/persons who did this had went back to ash and tampered with his body not long after decomposition had set in i believe also by taking his head we wouldnt of been be able to know how ash died and not just to hide his identity , his shoes was found close by to his body but his trousers have never been found.
Back in 2021 me,my brother/sisters had received a message saying that ash had went to a friends house in st terseas close ashford kent not far from sainsburys.Ash rung a close friend of his up and asked if he could be picked up as he was scared of a family member but his friend wasnt able to do it that day so ash would had to wait the following day so ash said that was okay and the call ended ash had lefted bout 2.30pm and said he was going to my house as ash had plans to carry on drinking but ash didnt make it back to me. Later that evening on the 11th june his friend gave ash a call as she was worried some man who she never heard of answered the phone and had saidd ash was busy but ash friend could hear ash screaming and a women tellin someone to shut him up then the phone cut off the friend reported this to police but police didnt come out till the following day and made a statement. No one has been convicted of my brothers murder i believe that it was someone that know my wherebouts that day and must of took that route to sainsburys that day.

Im also making an appeal to find out who mayb was around ashford kent on the 11th june and may of seen my brother or people acting suspicious or mayb someone has heard rumours bout my brothers death please can you get in contact with me i have a facebook group called i want justice for my brother ashley dighton
Ashley needs justice and we need to put these people be bars also we need try and find my brothers head cause without that ash cant rest in peace and nor can we as ashleys family

We need to talk about Ashley Dighton

Ashley was a 19 year old from Ashford in Kent. Friends and family have told me how Ashley was loyal, happy and could always be relied upon to make people laugh, to look after his sisters and he had a talent for knowing when his female friends were getting unwanted attention from men.He would step in and and act the perfect gentleman.
Ash was polite, he enjoyed listening to punk and had an incredible talent for art.
Ashley did however struggle with alcohol, addiction. Those who sufferer with alcohol addiction can have moods that fluctuate and it can impact on character and physical wellbeing. Ashley appeared to be quite high functioning in his alcohol use.

So why was this happy but troubled young man murdered with his body left in a local wooded area known as the “dip” next to Sainsbury’s in Simone Weil Avenue, Ashford, Kent? I think this is something we need to focus on, as it opens a number of questions.

Why the “dip”?
Did Ashley know his killer(s)

These are the last known movements of Ashley.

On the 11 June 2007 Ashley, his sister and two other friends arrived at Sainsbury’s to do a weekly shop. Ashley had been drinking and had a bottle of vodka. He wanted to buy some beer that was on offer, however his sister advised him they could not afford the beer. Ashley’s sister and the two friends continued their shop, Ashley decided to go outside.
It is believed there was some concern for Ashley as he was sleeping on the trollies outside. Sainsbury’s staff checked he was okay along with the security guard.
They seemed happy enough with him and Ashley was apologetic and moved towards the bench and sat down waiting for his sister and friends.
It then seems that the security guard asked Ashley to leave.
There are no known reports of Ashley doing anymore than sitting on the bench, it is unknown why he was asked to leave.
The security guard then followed Ashley into the dip and this was the last sighting of Ashley alive. It is not known how far the security guard walked or if anyone else was seen.
Ashley’s sister and friends believed he had left the supermarket and headed for his fathers address, as Ashley did not at that time have a mobile phone there was no way of checking.
His father believed he was staying with his sister. Ashley regularly stayed between the two addresses so this would not have been unusual. When it was discovered he was not at either address the police were contacted.

A month later Ashley’s body was found. He was hidden under foliage.

Forensic reports state that Ashleys body was in a decomposed which would be consistent with his body being in situ for approx a month.
He was missing his head and hands.

Importantly and this has been confirmed by police Ashley was NOT decapitated by his murderer. However his head was removed from the scene and has not been found.

From research into the behaviour of foxes, I do not believe a fox could carry a head or move it too far from the scene. I seems more plausible the suspect has hidden his head and hands.
The question is where ?

Ashleys clothes had been removed, they also have not been recovered.

Two carrier bags we’re found close by containing Ashleys t-shirt wrapped around a rib.

From looking at any reports it appears that the suspect may possibly have returned to the scene a number of times to remove his clothes and hide the body parts.

I suspect that Ashley’s head and hands were taken in an attempt to hide his identity.
The rib may have popped out with the removal of his clothes. But it’s also crossed my mind that it could be a signature of the killer ? It could be deemed biblical.

Ashley’s body was not far from the lorry park, is it possible the suspect(s) was disturbed ? Was a sleeping long haul driver woken?

The suspect(s) would no doubt be covered in decomposition fluid and would be acting strangely if they had returned to the scene. It surly is extremely risky.

There have been a number of arrests since 2007 but no charges.

It seems there is no motive for Ashley’s murder.
But whoever harmed Ashley seemed to know the area of the dip well enough to risk committing a murder and hiding a body.

So many questions remain

Was someone lurking in the area?
Was he followed ?
Was it planned?
Was it someone Ashley knew ?
Is this a random killing with the suspect travelling the country away from detection?

There does not appear to be any similar murders in the area. But could the be others?

I kwn there's been a bit of confusion to do with this post n the appeal that is posted over fb n in this post.
2 years ago I was told by a friend of Ashley's that he had went to another friend's of his in ashford kent where he had told his friend he was scared of family n he needed to leave Ashford however recently us as ashleys family had a meetin with the police and they stated that the friend had got her dates wrong n it wasn't the day ash was last seen on the 11th of June x
