Link to news video that shows the location of the house:

Imo, it’s in a neighborhood that’s pretty tucked away.

Edit: clarification

Deep diving into home invasion violence now.

• An estimated 3.7 million burglaries occurred each year on average from 2003 to 2007.

• A household member was present in roughly 1 million burglaries and became victims of violent crimes in 266,560 burglaries.

• Simple assault (15%) was the most common form of violence when a resident was home and violence occurred. Robbery
(7%) and rape (3%) were less likely to occur when a household member was present and violence occurred.

• Offenders were known to their victims in 65% of violent burglaries; offenders were strangers in 28%.

• Overall, 61% of offenders were unarmed when violence occurred during a burglary while a resident was present. About 12% of all households violently burglarized while someone was home faced an offender armed with a firearm.

• Households residing in single family units and higher density structures of 10 or more units were least likely to be burglarized
(8 per 1,000 households) while a household member was present.

• Serious injury accounted for 9% and minor injury accounted for 36% of injuries sustained by household members who were home and experienced violence during a completed burglary.

I’m not sure what to think on this one. Obviously, LE will have interviewed the husband. No POI atm. Husband is still a victim per our TOS. But these sorts of crimes (violent home invasions resulting in death by firearms) are incredibly rare. I would think they are even more rare now since the time range of the study I linked, given the prevalence of security cameras. Probability might suggest a close perpetrator, but victims are off limits, so let’s entertain the notion of a true home invasion situation…

Who might want what from this particular house, and why commit such a high risk (of getting caught) crime? Do they keep cash/weapons in the house? Who would know about that? Is part of their ministry working with people in need of cash/weapons, if in fact same are kept in the house?

Idk. It’s so very high risk to break into a house occupied by an adult man and woman, who have children they will mean to protect, passing by numerous homes that may have cameras, all for some purpose (money? guns?) that is worth arming oneself for? I can’t fathom a scenario where this would make sense, unless it is a young offender, perhaps from the neighborhood, and s/he shot because s/he encountered Mother and knew s/he could be indentified. Moo.

Neighbors are all being asked to check their home security cameras. One woman who is an adjacent neighbor to the Flynn’s, who lives in the cul-de-sac, commented that she “has cameras everywhere on her house and nothing showed up on her camera”.

In this news video from this afternoon the reporter said multiple agencies are involved including Tipp City police, Ohio Bureau of Investigation and the FBI are all investigating.

Thank you for this! There certainly doesn’t seem to be a way to avoid cameras in such a neighborhood, unless one passes through the adjacent field.

If you mean to burglarize a residence, wouldn’t you have a means of transport nearby to abscond with your loot?
