I really like Ashton but I don't think he can fill Charlies place.

Could Charlie himself fill Charlie's place? Charlie's hard-partying ways are catching with him and ruining his once good looks, IMO.

The news reports all say that AK is coming in to replace Charlie. So, I'm wondering if they will have him just be the new Charlie?

Well they will have to come with some story line to introduce him as a new character, because no one will buy him as an actual Charlie.

I think Ashton will be cast as a separate character that will have "Charlie" characteristics. Perhaps a play on his doofus 70's Show character, the vain Michael Kelso, but with less doofus but more over-the-top sexual overtones. Maybe he can be billed as "Charlie's" long lost son from "Charlie's" promiscuous teen years... or a younger friend of "Charlie's" that "Charlie" has sent to stay at his house while he is off galavanting somewhere.

A plot that has ran around in my head: kill Charlie off, have his mom inherit the beach house... the mom moves her newest boy toy, Ashton's character, into the beach house and the fun ensues as "Alan" has to not only deal with mom's new boy toy and their sexually driven on-again-off-again-on-again-off-again-etc relationship, but also the boy toy's bad boy ways that will rival a dead Charlie's shenanigans.

He doesn't need to fill Charlies place, no one needs to do that. Charlie is not a talented actor! Seriously, how hard is it, to always act the part of "yourself"? Charlie Sheen is famous because of his father, and that is the only reason. I have always found 2 1/2 men horrible! JMO

Here's is my theory for a plot synopsis to introduce AK's character to 2.5 men. (FWIW< lol!)

Charlie will travel abroad to pursue Rose, who has disappeared. Ashton will portray Rose's free spirited brother who is looking for the missing Rose. He will not live in the Harper home but in the family home (Rose's family) but is connected to the Harpers thru the absence of Rose and Charlie. He will be a central character who is quirky, like Rose, and climbs over the deck to insert himself into the Harper home. (His character will be similar to Kramer on Seinfeld,IMO) Jake will adolize AK's character, which will drive Alan crazy!

The writers know that Jake is growing up and should move the plot towards the next stage of his life. My feeling is that we will see the torch being passed, so to speak. In the past, we have witnessed Charlie's and Alan's shenanigans. I think we will now see Jake (Angus T, Jones) and Ak's character engage in shenanigans.

I think AK will bring a fresh comedic relief to the show (which had become somewhat stale, IMO) with a good script. I wish him well. (No offense intended toward Jon Cryer or Angus T. Jones because they are the reason I watch the show)

I wish CS well too...but it is time for him to move on. Moo, but he has some important issues to confront.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out to say the least.

MOO

'zactly :D

anytime I've watched it was because either my husband or my brother had it on

if I'm channel-surfing, which is rare, I'd surf right on by

however, I'm sure I'll be a more dedicated viewer now :innocent:
