My little Florida cracker daughter is just west of Savannah, I so hope she gets to see snow. I'll be waiting for the phone call tomorrow, lol.

We got a couple of inches of snow overnight but now it's just kind of slushy. Not enough for me to build a snowman!

In extreme South Georgia, we had a little snow today. The flakes were plentiful but very small & didn't stick, but it was pretty coming down. I encourage those you who are in real snow will put out food for wildlife. My birdfeeders have been extra-busy today; animals need a lot more food when the temperature drops.

A cute video of dogs in the snow:

The video of the dogs is adorable! How did they figure out how to lay on their sides and use their legs to gain speed?

I'm in Ontario Canada and its always snowing here! Its currently 19 degrees. Its nice to read all these exciting and positive comments about snow. Everyday from the first snowfall till spring, I curse the snow! :spring:

Yesterday I drove by a nearby park, where the kids were having a blast on their toboggens and skating on the frozen pond. Its always so sweet to watch the kids. :D

Now that is what I call ice cold beer. It's still snowing where I'm at west Georgia.

I was smack in the middle of ATL's 82 SNOWJAM (http://www.google.com/cse?cx=partner-pub-1415334591037307%3A19ja508cah0&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=atl+snowjam&sa=Search) & then in 83, SNOWSCAM. I left my hotel & conference downtown(good advice from a friend) & stayed with one of my best friends who lives in the burbs. The city shutdown for several days, we are not well prepared for that weather in GA. My hotel's restuarants, & many others, ran out of food & power was intermittent. It would not have been fun trapped like that with thousands of strangers but at my friends house we were cozy by the fire, played cards, boardgames, did jigsaw puzzles & cooked gourmet meals. I took a huge cooler of soft snow home with me & had a great snowball fight with son & hubby.

My recommendation to legalmania & others in that area ~ stay home. Metro ATL cannot drive in rain, much less snow & ice!

Here in Western Pennsylvania we have a few inches on the ground from last week and just some intermittent flurries on Christmas Day and yesterday. But up in the Allegheny Mountains about an hour east of here there is several feet of snow on the ground.

We had very heavy snow all last winter. I am hoping we don't have so much this year. Some years we get a lot here, some years very little.

I have relatives who moved to Seattle. They don't often get snow in Seattle proper and they got two inches last month and the entire town shut down for days!

We ususally have to get about 12 inches overnight to legitimately call off work around here, but if it's the first time in 100 years, I say stay home and enjoy it.

And yes, I too still love that absolutely calm quiet when you go outside in a heavy snow.

Can my Philly born nephew get out of snow covered Philly back to his new home right outside of Atlanta? Tomorrow?

Oh he's not happy.

Snows wherever he goes he says.:D I reminded the young grouch that he's lucky he's not in Scotland. No petrol, no food, no ciggies!:bang:

Meanwhile it's the usual here in Chiladelphia. People fighting over who dug out their car and who stole their spots and kitchen chairs trump beach chairs holding your spot ya dug out.

Oh yeah and the fury over how they cancelled the game yesterday. Public safety and all ya know. I say "These people drink tailgating from like 9:00 in the morning all day long and then drink at the game and drive home" Now they worry about public safety and some snow?

Happy winter all.

I was there for one of the snowfalls in GA years ago and it was delightful. I don't like snow now as I see it all the time. It is just lovely in GA though as they don't get snow often. I remember nobody could drive in the snow, and were slipping and slidding all over place. The whole area outside of Atlanta just came to a complete STOP.

Enjoy all.

Now that I know that I was There for this Once in One Hundred Years! I remember hearing something on the news as this Florida Girl was transfixed to the hotel room window..that it was the most snow that Atlanta had in one day in 25 years, so Thanks to WBS for educating me on how much more of an Adventure I was on!
