Atlantic City Eastbound Strangler 4 Women Found Dead behind Motel Egg Harbor Twp, Nov 2006

  • #401
Do we know if the murders were all committed in 2006 or were the bodies there for a while?

It's been posted before but I thought I'd re-post a timeline for anyone down the line who may want to sleuth this case. Also posting about cell phones. All dates are 2006.

Timeline:

Saturday October 7th:
Molly Dilts arrives in Atlantic City by bus from Philadelphia. A phone call from her to Black Lick, PA is traced to a pay phone in AC.

Saturday October 14th:
Kim Raffo arrives in Atlantic City by bus from Long Island.

Tuesday October 17th:
Barbara Breidor leaves her place in Ventnor NJ. on a two hour errand and is not heard from again until her body is discovered on November 20.

Wednesday November 8th:
Tracy Ann Roberts is hospitalized when someone punches her in the throat. She calls her mother to pick her up to go back to Delaware. Tracy Roberts, accompanied by two unidentified men, leaves the hospital before her mother arrives.

Mid-November:
Tracy Ann Roberts is shopping and leaves to run a one hour errand. She is not heard from again until her body is discovered on November 20.

November 19th:
Kim Raffo leaves a client at the Taj Mahal at 5:00 am to go buy drugs. The client phones her several times when she doesn't return. Her body is found 33 hours later in a drainage ditch.

November 20th – between 2:30 & 3:00 pm: A woman walking on a trail behind the Golden Key motel discovers Kim Raffo's body in a watery ditch. Investigators soon discover the three other bodies.

Cell Phones:

Of the four victims I have come to believe that only Kim Raffo was equipped with a cell phone.
“At about 5 a.m. on Nov. 19, the law enforcement official said, Raffo told the man she was going out to buy drugs and would return. When she did not, the doctor called her several times, receiving *no answer.”
http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2016/11/10_years_later_the_atlantic_city_serial_killer_rem.html

Molly Dilts's last call was traced to a pay phone.

Barbara Breidor disappeared on Oct. 17th. She had cousins in Margate NJ., sisters in Florida and two people she was staying with in Ventnor NJ. A missing person report is filed in late October. No record in any news reports of trying to contact her by phone.

Tracy Ann Roberts called her mother from a hospital on Nov. 8th. Her mother missed her by a few minutes. I'm of the belief that her mother would have tried to frantically call her daughter once she realized that Tracy had checked herself out.

If this analysis is correct about the cell phones then that would lead to the conclusion that the killer made contact on a face to face basis with at least three of the victims. Two, possible three, of the victims are reported to have been running some type of errand at what appears to be a prearranged time.

Hope this helps.

Thank you C1 Can anyone discuss a face to face contact here. If you have no cell phone, and you are cautious with who you date, do you think he was known to them or a stranger? I hope someone can expand on this, the no cell has me pondering how he got them to go with him. It would be a risk not to have any cell as if something went wrong, and it did, what would you do? So did he take them by force? And no cloths removed, but shoes are gone. Very strange. He has to be out there, or in jail, because there are no more cases like this in 10 yrs.

Was it common to use a pay phone? I know some girls did, but I don't know how the date was set up, if you don't hook up on line, or have a phone.

I'm theorizing about the cell phones based on the many news reports that I've read. These ladies don't appear to have had much money. It's been reported that Kim Raffo and Tracy Ann Roberts were clean cut enough to be able to work the casinos. The last client of Ms. Raffo, a doctor from N. Jersey, had a room at the Trump Taj Mahal.

Investigators looked at Ms. Raffos cell phone records and that's how they found out about the doctor. He was cleared. I'd imagine if the other ladies had phones the investigators would've crossed-referenced them against the others. If the killer's number came up on a few of them that certainly would've been a red flag.

Incidently, those doctor's calls to Ms. Raffo pinged off a tower on the Black Horse Pike. Either the doctor called when he (the killer) was disposing of Ms. Raffo's body or the killer was too stupid to turn it off and that might be an indicator that the guy is local.

As always, just my opinion

On the STALK website under the LISK partial profile it has a section where they talk about how that SK possibly got the girls to meet him and not bring their cell phones:

"He leads the women to believe that they will be safe while in his company. He was able to convince his victims to meet him without them having a driver and, for the most part, without having their cell phones on them. Some of these women, not being born and bred in NY City, may not have had the street-smarts that a native New York city escort might have exhibited. However, we have to ask ourselves that, being in the escort business, these women still should have had a certain amount of street savvy. They certainly should have been wary enough to ask this killer John as to why they could not have brought their cell phone to the meeting. After all, having a John telling you that you could not bring a cell phone should have triggered a major alarm of possible dangers. The reality is that, in their business, their phone is their literal lifeline!
How would this sweet talking killer answer that question as to why a cell phone could not have been brought along? Here are some answers we came up with:

• I am a famous person and I don't want any photos taken of myself or where I Iive.
• A cell phone could later be traced to my address and my wife or my girlfriend could find out I was with you.
• I don't want to be recorded on a cell phone by anyone.
• A cell phone could interfere with my medical heart device, such as a pacemaker or defibrillator. The magnetic energy of the cell phone could distort this device and I could suffer a heart attack. If that happened, I could possibly die, and you would have a dead body to explain."

Maybe the AC killer did the same thing or maybe they are one in the same?

Tracy and Kim both had cell phones. They also had the same pimp. He more likely than not is the one who throat punched her... And when he found out she was leaving the hospital showed up with a soldier took her phone and sent her back out to work. He probably punched her for finding out she was buying drugs on the streets from people other than him. Pimps need to be EVERYTHING to you... They buy your close feed you monitor your phones and supply you with drugs. Punishments for breaking rules come swiftly and fiercely. This same pimp wiped me unconscious ON CAMERA naked with a wet leather belt for snatching a young girl back from him....he found us hiding on the black horse pike at the Golden Key....2 days later he shot at me while I was on the sidewalk.... Also known as the track. Hewas ADAMANT almost to the point of obsession about knowing where we were down to the plank on the boardwalk after both their deaths....that is taken as a great insult to have one your own murdered. Trust me all ac pimps were looking long and hard for this guy.... And very well may have found him which would explain why the killings stopped....

There is a thread coming that may explain a lot of this

Again not victim bashing here but if you knew the streets these girls worked and the life style they led, you'd understand why not each of them had a cell phone. They where for the most part Street addicts.
If your working the streets in AC, chances are that a John would pick you up on the track. Johns cruise the track looking for girls. When they find one that they like, the girls just jump in their car. So the chances of a face to face meeting rather then a call booking are very good here.
These girls working that area aren't usually making very much and most of what is earned goes directly to drugs and alcohol.

Regarding the bolded bit, is there any way we could rule out Steven Stallworth? Definitely a local, he fits this visual description, and had same MO and victim profile. Stallworth lived in Pleasantville, which is literally a 3-minute straight shot west of the dump site. I haven't paid attention to this case awhile and can't recall if he has been ruled in or out. I can't imagine such an intriguing potential POI would be ignored this late in the game unless there was reason to do so.

That's a very good question. I never made the correlation personally so haven't looked into it any but it may be worth checking out for sure. I can pull up his archive at work tomorrow.

This is true for many girls in AC... There are other scenarios though that happen... Some girls work all of them

Don't hold me to this but iirc stallworth may have been in Atlantic county jail 2006 for drug related offenses so was immediately ruled out as a suspect.
I went to search for his picture after checking this thread and remembered him as soon as I pulled up the Google images. I could be wrong ( there's been several missing girls and several African American male suspects in the past ten years so my memory may not be accurate)

I'm sorry to hear about your experience.

Sometime in mid-November, a street hustler named Dante said he went clothes shopping with Tracy Roberts. She bought the outfit she was wearing when her body was found.

"She said, 'I'll be back in like a hour,'" Dante remembers. "She never came back."

Curious what that one hour errand might be.

She may have had to meet up with her pimp... They meet up with you anytime you accumulate any money so you can't be robbed. Since he probably had her phone he may have gotten a call for a date for her he sent her on... The final one. We also at that time also used boost phones with the two way walkie talkie feature as it didn't always require you to have money on the phone. She may have had a walkie talkie that got tossed by the assailant

When he would would drink he'd get all melancholy and say... I probably talked to this SOB....probably sent her out to meet him... He actually was pretty torn up about losing both girls

So, he either talked to the killer in person or talked to him on the phone. Let me guess, he was too afraid to help catch the killer by talking to investigators. Oh, and he sends Kim Raffo to meet with the same guy after Ms. Roberts disappears.

At rdixon1120 - Please don't misinterpret my last post as being directed at you because it's not. You're telling what you know and that's very courageous of you. Thankfully you've survived.

If this pimp had actually gotten to the killer then he wouldn't be saying something like "I probably talked to this SOB". He wouldn't be regretful or melancholy. Just my opinion.

I'd suggest that you go speak with Atlantic county prosecutors office or at the very least, acpd , if you have not been formally interviewed already.
Obviously there are lots of people who come out of the woodwork after these types of crimes that claim to have inside knowledge or claim to have been with the victims and such, but if you feel that this man may really have been in contact with the killer, it's best that you go get interviewed.

FBI Special Agent Dan Garrabrant works the AC area as well.

Rdixon, maybe you should try the FBI guy that c1 suggested as I know you said the several other agencies you contacted were not very interested.
