From my understanding, fuel stations in Australia need to comply by law and keep the CCTV recordings data for of 3 months,from a date/from/ due to a particular circumstance....
I Just was wondering people captured on CCTV @ fuel stations around the outskirts of yunta Adelaide, would be interesting to cross examine 6 or 9 months ago compared to within 3 months today.
In shopping centres we are more reminded that cameras are in real time, and sometimes even edgy(slightly paranoid) if sometimes we are unsure of which aisle
Anyways in fuel stations we don't really seem to be concerned as much, due to worry of the cost of fuel , and which number fuel tank we were on to pay....
So basically, the family of Gus, could show a very indicative timeline of personal behaviour, if fuel stations do keep data CCTV recordings for more than 6 9 months

Wow, that would tie up an army of officers for a long time.

I expect that fuel is delivered to the farm. Most farms have a large tank of diesel and one of gasoline for bulk storage of fuels.

This is a question for @BreakingNews and / or @Greenie75 regarding the "Quiz" call-in AM radio show BreakingNews heard at 2:30am the other day and Greenie75 transcribed (since deleted), during which a "Bob" called in and spoke about his search for wee Gus with Fleur.

Bob had said he and Fleur were the only ones (presumably the only civilians) to be searching for Gus, he was heading out that morning to search again and asked for volunteers to join, and most importantly, IMO, he stated he and Fleur KNOW (not think) Gus is still alive.

Is there any way either of you can confirm the date of that "Quiz" show? Can you confirm it was live vs. an older rerun?

What if it was just a rerun, and all our fuss about what Bob said is irrelevant now?

There was a gold rush in the Yunta area. Gold discovered in 1886 which led to about 5,000 people descending on the area.
There are scattered, abandoned gold mines. Further back in the thread are photos of an old mineshaft that a property owner recently found on his property (he has lived there for years).


In October 1886 Thomas Brady and Thomas Smith discovered gold on a property near Yunta. Not long after the discovery, 5,000 miners appeared on the goldfield. For the next ten years or so Yunta became a destination for gold prospectors. Miners have also travelled to Yunta with the hopes of discovering copper and various mines for slate have been recorded in the region.

Ah ok I thought they were copper mines. Certainly when gold was discovered it created a very haphazard style of mining back then. I spent some time in Hill End in NSW and there are disused mine shafts absolutely everywhere. You want to stay on the track there and not go wandering around the bush.

It has been linked several times above. It was real time, except that I am in Qld and an hour behind EST. I was only awake to hear him say that no one else was looking for Gus, except for him and Fleur. I didn't even hear him ask for volunteers. All I can say is that it was live the other night and the cat woke me up being silly. So I turned on the ABC radio.

If Fleur is a good friend of the M's, it doesn't really make sense, that Bob and Fleur were searching for volunteer helpers, who aren't wanted on the property by the whole family of JM/SM/JM. MOO

I cant see that producing any useful information. I am sure the Police would already have accessed camera footage of recent dates.
But if you look at the map, you will see that the road to the family's property enters on the western side of the service station. All the services the family accesses, shopping, government offices, health srvices would be on the western side. There are also family, all on the western side.
If they travelled east there is nothing until Broken Hill in NSW. Remember they would have bulk fuel at the Station, so would not have any reason to go to the service station.

Do you think they would have regularly driven past the service station.? I dont.
