As far as Bob goes, reading the transcript and assuming he's sincere, I'm writing it off as a comment made by someone who has probably lost touch with reality ( could be temporary, could be characteristic, who knows). Also, he may be a local, but what he actually says is that he's in Adelaide. I think he means that he lives there. Jmo

I could speculate as to what's going on with him but that seems kinda pointless. Perhaps he's just become over invested in Gus' disappearance and cannot face the reality of the situation. He wouldn't be the first person to find themselves in that position. You just have to check out social media for that. Moo

Yep I'm an Australian but my views on Bob don't have much if anything to do with with my nationality. Bob, moo, is in deep denial or has some other psychological blockage which is affecting his ability to reality check. Moo

I personally don't think Bob is in denial, or off his rocker, autistic, or drunk, as some have opined.

He simply may know something none of us can imagine.

I’m having such a hard time with Gus being missing over 9 weeks now. Even though I’m familiar with rural living in the U.S., the immensity of this property is still beyond my comprehension.

I understand there are cases where decedents have been found years later in places that have previously been searched - I can’t get over that this is the family’s home. Unlike missing people who have been found near roads or in parks, Gus went missing on a property that is perpetually available to his family (outside of weather and scheduling concerns). I imagine that his family is spending every spare second of their lives searching for him, as I would be.

Even with the rugged landscape, possibility of clandestine mines and vastness of the property - it seems that a fair portion of the area that a 4 year old could have traveled would have been combed through, potentially multiple times, by both searchers and family by now.

Just another factor that makes this sad case so baffling.

When it looked like Gus would be found alive after wandering away, the community came together to join professional searchers to look. Gus' family welcomed the assistance.

Once it appeared it would be a body recovery effort, only professionals searched for Gus.

I don't understand why people think inexperienced volunteers should be wandering the extensive property, which is very difficult and dangerous to search, to find a child's body. It sets up professionals to be rescuing volunteers instead of finding this child's body to bring home to his family for a proper burial and grieving.

Could he have wandered into the road and been in an accident with a vehicle? The driver panics and dispose 's of Gus several miles away?
Gus climbs into a delivery vehicle or trailer and comes to harm by accident. Again the driver panics and disposes of Gus miles away?
A predator snatches Gus and kidnaps him. Not much CCTV or ANPR in the area. A disturbingly high number of Australian children have vanished without trace for many years

I was not actually suggesting a transient campsite on the Murray Station.

My query was along the lines of whether somehow Gus was taken (by a transient station worker) or if Gus climbed into a worker's truck and ended up at a community for station workers, such as for traveling sheep Shearers.

That is why I tend to take Bob at his 28/11 rado quiz show word that he and Fleur "know" Gus is alive. And no, I don't think they are searching on the Murray's station. That would make no sense, as certainly if Gus is in the bush, he's dead.

Perhaps we need to think outside the box, such as pondering whether Bob and Fleur may be searching the dark web for Gus, who may be in a child traf****ing situation? Or could he be in a nearby transient encampment? Or could he be seen at a neighboring property's CCTV?, etc.

Why they would not just relay whatever information they have to SAPOL is odd. What theory or information would Bob and Fleur have that compel them to search somewhere for Gus on their own?

It's been reported that not everyone sees eye to eye and if this is the case, I find the blanket silence, under what must be very stressful circumstances, a little unusual and wonder why that might be - I understand it could be a case of being wary of the media, but wonder if for whatever reason anyone might feel that they can't speak out.
