Channel 10 News said it was a male neighbour. Probably unlicensed.
Actually this was reported on Channel 10 Queensland only. It's not reported on the Australian 10 news.

Quoting from my above DM link:

" 'As a result of a previous search at Oak Park Station,
Task Force Horizon detectives
have today arrested a 75-year-old from Grampus and charged them with firearm offences',
a spokesperson said on Monday."

What does it exactly mean? 🤔
As a result of a previous search...
From Grampus means it's likely not either grandparent Imo. Police may have been doing ground searches in that area and come across a person who lives there, clocked a firearm offence (unregistered perhaps) and charged the person as a matter of course. Jmo

ETA, there may be a Grampus station not far south of Oak Park, I recall from maps I looked at a long time ago. Will check Google maps and post link

Courier Mail and, 9 News both say it was Josie arrested.

And it must have been rather minor charge, as it looks like Josie must have driven themselves to the Police station and was free to drive themselves home again.

Or did they hand the car back that was taken for forensic testing on his bail release??

So...

This "Grampus" is another property??? 😵‍💫

So it looks like it's a regional area designation which includes OAK Park. There is is an old grampus homestead somewhere in the southern part of the region but in this case, looks like Grampus refers to the region. Looks like Channel 10 Queensland misreported. Jmo

I wonder if Josie’s firearms licence will be automatically suspended.
In the interests of everyone’s safety it would be for the best if all guns were removed from the property for now.

Friends and neighbours could help out with pest control (foxes, rabbits etc)
At least the snakes will be safe now 🤣😉

At least we know how old Josie is now, if Shannon is a similar age, they certainly aren’t young grandparents.

Just a little something I thought I would share with you. It's just that I saw a photo of a couple of guys somewhere a few days ago. Can't even remember now if it was on the news or what. Just a couple of unknown men. But one of them stood out to me, and after a while I realised why. He was maybe about 30, average build, with light brown longish curly hair and beard. And I thought, that's what Gus might have grown up to look like! Can't get it out of my head now. 😥

If Josie is the perpetrator I wouldn’t like to be in Shannon’s shoes stuck out there on that remote property

We have 8 year old twins with long curly blonde hair and every time I see Gus’ little face it’s a reminder of the life stolen from him. Of a boy that should have grown to their age and beyond. And it’s really sad to think about.

There’s something about Josie’s demeanour that has struck me as odd right from the beginning that I can’t put my finger on.

Task Force Horizon Update

16 Feb 2026 3:40pm

Members attached to Task Force Horizon conducting inquiries at Oak Park Station in connection with the disappearance of four-year-old Gus Lamont on 27 September have concluded searching for evidence today.
Inquiries are ongoing and it is anticipated that Task Force Horizon detectives will remain in the area tomorrow, Tuesday 17 February.

An update on the search activities will be provided as they progress.

As a result of a previous search at Oak Park Station, Task Force Horizon detectives have today arrested a 75-year-old from Grampus and charged them with firearm offences. They have been bailed to appear in the Peterborough Magistrates Court on 6 May.

Acting Officer in Charge of Major Crime Investigation Branch Detective Inspector Andrew Macrae said the charges are not related to the disappearance of Gus Lamont nor a previous incident at Oak Park Station in October 2025 involving media attending the property.

My first impression looking at photos was:
fierceness and domination.

Depends how serious the offences are. They have evidently been given police bail until May, as the Peterborough court is apparently a circuit court and only sits on specific days.
I am guessing that we may have to wait until court time to hear the specific charge. Unless the media gets hold of the charging document prior to that.

There is a range of offenses, and a range of penalties.

Some examples a South Australian legal firm provided ....
