Facebook account appearing to be the same person lists "Sayf" as first name, but seems like that is actually middle name (based on FB Url)

Instagram shows some local touristy pages followed suggesting an interest in exploring.

Tagged photos show that he participates in martial arts

Hello, I’m a family friend of Ahmed and I know that he has two names (this is common in Arab and North African culture), but he mostly goes by Ahmed.
Whilst he likes nature and doing outdoor stuff, he is not a big fan of bushwalking or hiking, so it’s so baffling that he is missing in thick bush area.
Also, the Porsche he was driving is brand new and he is really careful about getting his things dirty or scratched. The place his Porsche was found is rural and barely suitable for a car like a Porsche.
Anyway, I want to help find Ahmed. I know the police are on the case currently but I have a feeling they will close it any time soon and write it off as a missing persons case. I don’t want to just accept that as an answer, we need to know what happened.

If anyone wants to ask me any questions about him, I’ll be happy to help. If anyone has theories about what is going on, feel free to comment them. I think we need to keep our options open, and with such uncanny cases such as these, anything is possible.

could it possibly have been an accumulation of bad mental health days? would it sound plausible that someone might have lured him to go there? to me it doesn't seem like he's involved in any business that would result in something like that. do police have his physical phone? if so they can push it to higher ups that are able to analyze activity and information that's circulated in his bubble to trace sentiment the days prior and gauge where he can be as a result.

Hello,
It is definitely a possibility that mental health could have lead up to this, but I also think maybe there was also another health issue that was linked to all this. He was definitely not acting like himself a few weeks before his disappearance and this lead to some concerns amongst family and friends. When asked if he was ok, he said he had a problem but did not want to tell anyone about it. We don't know what was wrong and we feel guilty that maybe if he told us, his disappearance could have been prevented.
It has also occured to us that like you said, someone could have lured him. Whilst I think this is a possibility, we won't know until police are able to get into his phone which apparently they have not yet and are struggling since he owns the latest iphone 16. I don't know if it is weird or normal that police have not yet been able to get into his phone??
Now, Ahmed is a down-to-earth, kind man and all the time we have known him, he's never had any enemies. So I also doubt that there was some dodgy business he was involved in. I think though that we should keep our options open since anything could be possible. I really want police to get into his phone because then we may have more answers, I do not know why it is taking them so long.

Not weird, iPhones are notoriously hard and time-consuming for police to gain access to. They have strong encryption and tight security features that do not make it easy. I hope they're able to gain access soon to bring more answers about what happened to your friend.

I am sure I saw him sitting in his car just staring off into space on the 29th of October at around 12.30 am. I also saw him in the month or so preceding at the casino where he was playing roulette and clearly losing heavily. Have contacted police in regards to the car incident but only later recalld him at the casino.

what could be the connection between those two events then?

Only that perhaps his personal life was on a downward spiral. I recall looking at the wager he'd staked on the roullette table and working out that he had very little chance of recouping that amount even if there was a win. Very erratic. He then lost as one of the few only numbers he hadn't covered came up. He strode away for a minute to return even more stridently in a way which I immediately knew meant he'd only been as far away as the nearby cash machine and was coming back angrily prepared to chase his losses, a situation I could identify in him through bitter personal experience. I then left as I was only passing and stopped to watch the action and after seeing the way he acted I knew this story and that the ending would not be good.

Hello Everyone.
I wonder if there is any update for Sayf Ahmed Hamada?
Any signs?
Is there a way to get involved in trying to find him?
I’m a friend that used to train Marshal Arts with him.
Regards,
Rob

Hey Rob - as above, Mods will likely ask you to verify your claim.

Irrespective, no update from me.

Hi everyone, I am an ex partner of sayf (march-october 2023). I have only just discovered he has been deemed missing and am devastated to hear it has been six months since he was last seen. I have been intouch with the police over the past couple of days. I did hear from sayf, a text message on the 15th of October 2024. Our relationship didn't work out back in 2023, I was still hurt and defensive when recieving his text wanting to catch up for a coffee, he sounded good, rather lovely in his text message, I thought perhaps given his property sold ( as per realestate records ) he was moving on, perhaps he just wanted to catch up, heal any existing wounds, as I know he still cared for me as I did him. I personally felt it was hard enough when the relationship ended that I just couldn't risk being upset again, time then lapsed. I had every intention of touching base with him in the future, now of which is too late. Had I known he was in any situation, I would have been there for him. Please give my prayers and regards to sayf's family morrie1 and if I can help with anything at all please reach out. I have also given my information to the police to handover to the family if the family at all wish to communicate, I can't imagine how they would be feeling. Again, please get intouch if I can help with anything at all.
Alim.

I reported seeing him in late Oct to Tasmanian Crimestoppers and never even received a return call from the investigating officer. Although this would be nothing new from them.
There was a man who spotted Victoria Cafasso, a long unsolved murder in Tasmania who reported by phone seeing her who also received no return call.
Also, a missing woman named Nancy Grunwald, who a driver, whilst in shock, entered a police station on the day she 'disappeared' to tell them he 'thought he might have knocked a woman off her bicycle' had the officer on duty complain that he was about to end his shift and if the driver wasn't 100% sure then not to worry about it.

Brett, Thank you for saying this. I personally found it incredibly concerning that when I first called the police the other week, I was turned away. I was told there was nothing I could do. I couldn't believe it. I then called the police again, stating that I was Sayf's ex partner and again I would think they might want any information that could help. Only then was a police officer responsive and I was put through to the missing person unit. Brett, if I please ask you, if you are certain you saw Sayf to please push to make a statement. I do not understand why they have not followed up with you. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond and reach out to crime stoppers. All information should be regarded. I don't understand why people who have reported on cases haven't been listened to or the information documented? It also scares me to think what information may have come forward that hasn't been considered as relevant when it could be relevant? Again, thank you Brett..

ADMIN NOTE:

For any member who knows the missing person and wishes to provide "inside information", Websleuths requires that they be verified as to their identity and relationship to the missing person.

It is a very simple and confidential process.

All information on why we have this requirement and how to apply can be found HERE.

I had given up on the idea after losing faith in ever hearing from the police again, but will call them and reiterate my information, specifically to the actual officer handling the case and let you know asap what they tell me.

I do believe there's more to this than just a missing person who's chosen to disappear.
For a start, the night I believe I saw him, he was sitting in his car staring straight ahead and not moving, just blankly staring and deliberately taking no notice of me. Even doing this when I slowed right down in passing because I wondered what was going on. I thought it looked like he might be cataleptic or having a breakdown for medical episode. I definitely sensed some type of crisis.

It was also wierd because his car had stopped a fair way back from the line (entering a roundabout) and I wondered why and if maybe the driver was high or drunk and might suddenly drive out erratically and hit me? This is also one of the reasons why I slowed right down and thereby got a really good view of his face, recognising I'd seen him before entering the supermarket in my neighborhood and earlier once I thought I saw him at the casino playing roulette.

Later I thought about it and realised, had there been an unseen another inside of that car with a knife or gun and lying down on the back seat making threats and demands, that they would previously have been able to see my headlights approaching from around the bend a hundred metres or so away and, as I believe there are cameras located at that roundabout, this passenger may have spotted me approaching and told the driver to stop the car, laid down and concealed themselves until I'd passed.

All this occurred at around 12.30 am on the night of the 29th October which was the also the same day his car was discovered abandoned in the Fortescue Bay area over 100km away.
