How can you wake "abruptly" "about" the same time that someone vanishes between 11pm and 3am? Either dogs howled within a 5-15 minute period or they didn't. Or if they did howl for longer, what time did they START?
(General question.)

Please don't misinterpret my desire to nail detail with abuse or aggression Marly, I fully understand that that is the finest level of detail your source could give you.

Peace

Thanks for the link.

I think it is a good example of how mainstream journalists are not necessarily wordsmiths, just saying ;)

There's nothing wrong with that sentence. The "abruptly" relates to the manner of waking. The "about" refers to the general time. The two are not related. It just means that someone woke suddenly out of their sleep and could not then remember what time they woke. Perhaps the act of waking suddenly was disorienting; I'm certain many people have experienced this.

Surely there won't be a discussion now about lack of expertise in journalists' writing, because surely there are too many people online in glass houses?

That was one of my initial thoughts when there is so much confusion over the sleepover, and trying to think what it was that made the police think it was a crime scene at the house, if the children were there and totally contradicted what GBC said, maybe they did say grandma brought us home during the night, or dad took us there during the night, or grandma came and looked after us.
If he did lie re the sleepover, it was a very silly lie, and shows his panic IMO

Yes I agree...I think the source of all this confusion is all stemming from GBC.

Told police one story...told others a different story...

Told police he last saw Allison watching tv...told Allison's parents she went for a walk.

Told police the girls were home but they were on a sleepover.

Then there's this little piece....trying to cover his backside??....was really calling for help to move Allison's body??

The Courier-Mail understands a frantic Mr Baden-Clay rang and sent text messages to several people asking if they'd heard from his wife after she failed to return home on Thursday night. Eventually, he went to bed alone

He's "frantically calling"...then just takes himself off to bed??...yeah right!!

Hi WI, i concede your general observation but what was that about glass houses??????

We don't profess to be journalists. However we are intelligent people here and we can critique journalists expertise if we wish.

Im really sorry if I missed something, ie comments about professing to be a journalist (I have not am not and i don't). What is with the glass houses thing?

I agree completely :)

Im sure some clever people in this forum could give some journo's a run for their money, in the finding out information department.

Almost like in the forum, some info put out by journo's is accurate reporting, while other bits are just too way out there to be right.

IMO MYO measured content and composition of wildlife around Kholo Ck. Decomp would be quick and water rats are in the area. So sorry to say. And weather was warmer six weeks ago. MYO LOTS OF KNOWLEDGE

Yes I think she was at home when she died too, but I've been wondering for a while if they were brought home early in the morning to provide a stronger alibi for their Dad.

Might explain his refusal to clarify the apparent confusion over whether they were at home that night or on a sleepover.
Just wonderin??

MOO

I agree. Hopefully the Dickies have had a chance to question the kids on their own. Even so - their recollection of where they were on which night would not be reliable evidence.

Could NBC have gone out searching for her and that is when he was seen at the bus stop. If someone did stop and talk to him - surely he would have said something like "I have been help my son search for his wife. She has gone missing"

Ok I hate to ask again but what are people's thoughts on who this associate is from NSW?? Does she or did she work for Century 21??

  • #811
If it hadn't been forecast soggy tomorrow, I was going to ask if anyone would like to go for a picnic lunch at Brookfield, to discuss the case, then pay our respects at one of the sites.

How about next weekend?

Thats nice of you.

Hubby said when they make an arrest he will drive me over to the locations and take flowers. I wont drive that far, I only stick to driving areas I know lol.

I haven't a clue Schmick. I wondered if she worked there too. Or if it was a different kind of conference. It seems the Baden Clay's werent making much money in the end, but were very much in "conferencing" and being involved in meetings etc.

I wonder what colour car she drives. I wonder if she is the passenger that was supposedly seen in one of the cars....There is so much to wonder, though not much info on her..................Quite driving me nuts actually.

Again..... WAH WAH WAH (thats me crying, coz I just have to know)...lol

A respected radio journalist (not a news one though) told my OH today that ABC was strangled. Take it or leave it, as I don't know how he would have any extra info. So I'll put it out there, and see if it ends up being right.

Back to the kids. Are they spending any time with Allison's parents? Can anyone verify what thay said?

Sorry I was trying to say MOO on an iPhone. I know what I am talking about however to call this a professional opinion requires verification on websleuths so I will leave it at MOO

I whole-heartedly think people are entitled to their own views regarding other people's professions. However, I believe that people who are continually disparaging of any specific journalist or news media organisation's coverage of this case should steadfastly stand by their views and not read or link to any of that news media's coverage - and seek their information elsewhere.

Cheers

It's all good at my end...I think people are entitled to their opinion and shouldnt have to back up such an opinion. It isnt about an item, where the fact must be backed up with link.....Just peoples opinions on a generic.

Can someone explain to me what "Sensu stricto, nullo metro compositum est " means? Thanxabunch

I am not sure if the Gold Coast conference GBC met her at was restricted to Century 21.I think it may have been- In which case I would think she did(even if she doesn't now.)
