People reported the screams as far as I read and the house is close to the show ground so could it have been coming from either? Also even though Brookfield is safe sometimes to cool down you want to sit and think not be worried and walk!

The neighbours reported an argument at the house, they did not report screams and the argument was from inside the house.

Some people who lived many kilometres away reporting some screams, there was a party nearby with young idiots and this is where the screaming has been determined to come from.

I want to be proved wrong about this ASAP but I FEAR that the body was submerged for too long, the elements have taken their toll and all surface injuries that could show minor marks have been eroded by nature's elements and creatures, this is why it took them so long to confirm her official identify as she would have been unrecognisable beyond belief for anyone to do a visual confirmation

I guess I'm just trying to stay positive & have faith in the police, especially with the incredible work they do in forensics. Hoping an arrest is soon.

The reported screams were comming from another part of Brookfield...Not close to the show ground....

This is why I have been saying all along that sometimes the police "manual" should be used as a guideline adn the police should have had multiple search parties covering waterways and other areas, there is just no reason they could not have teamed 1-2 police officers with small groups (4-5) ses workers and gone to all the local camping grounds ad followed the local streams, weirs and waterways as that to me was the quickest and most obvious method of disposing a body. The police didnt find her soon enough, GBC lawyered up ASAP because he probably thought they would find her sooner, and couldnt believe his luck each day he woke up and nothing was discovered, I bet he was starting to calm down when the rain got heavy as well as he would have known how that would affect an investigation

It's getting really hard to distinguish fact from opinion on this thread now. Some are summarising aspects of the case as if they are fact, when they aren't. Confusing!

You never screamed or did anything stupid when you were a kid??...kids are kids.

No I never walked around the streets in the early hours of the morning screaming at the top of my lungs like I needed help.

A local resident said it was her opinion the screams came from a party somewhere in the area. Nothing was confirmed either way by police??

The area where the screams where heard was 4 kilometres away, the time of the screams does not match up with the neighbours hearing an argument and most importantly the neighbours who heard the argument did NOT hear any screaming. IF she had screamed loud enough to that people 4 kms away heard it these neighbours would have heard it along with the thousands of others in the area.

I read the screams were something like 3 - 4kms away. From what I heard on news that was only a local residents opinion..that it was from a party. ??...it was never confirmed either way by police??

Yes, it would be good if we could stick with what is known rather than speculating with wild theories.

I think we need to give the police a break here. They wouldn't have focused on the hot zone if they didn't have reliable information. We are not to know at this stage if they did find something here, even if the body was located elsewhere. Resources can only be spread so far. Just remember, we are not privy to the information that determined where they would search.

My point is...she may not have been at the house when those screams were heard. Either way, it's not been confirmed or discounted by police.

Hi,
This is my first post, but have been glued to this forum since the beginning.
I just wanted to weigh in on all the questions about why they would be renting.
My guess would be Negative Gearing. You can claim more on tax at the end of the financial year. People rent their own homes out, and also rent a house themselves.

If anyone needs to refocus on facts before coming up with hypothetical, check our Maverick.au's posts. He/she has a knack for sticking to the clearly-reported issues without the inaccuracies of the media or the emotion from getting angry about the case. I think the perpetrator would love to see more outlandish schemes talked about here - will make them think maybe they have just got away with it. They haven't, no way ... and to that person ... rot in hell you **** there's a change a-comin'

I say it happened in the house too. I don't think it was the other woman, I think it was him. Happened in the middle of an argument, then he couldn't travel TOO far from the area to dispose of her because the kids were alone at home. Maybe he got to the roundabout and had second thoughts about going too far because of this. He knows exactly where her mobile phone is, because he hid it. He disposed of her and probably spent the night cleaning up and getting his story straight. He made mistakes. This wasn't planned, as I said and his mind would have been racing like crazy.

This is true, if you own your own house and live it in and your family is on a combined income of $130k and you have 3 kids, you will get nothing, but if you own an investmet property and rent a home, you can claim all your expenses off the gaps between what rent your recieve ( a lot when you factor rate, ins etc)plus on the same icome you will be entitled to rent assisitance as well as your lowered taxable income will drop you low enough to get family tax benefit as well. I bet he had Allison on the books a a fulltime employee to offset tax as 2 incomes evened out attracts a lot less tax than one person getting a big income.
There is nothing strange about them renting at all and it is a smart business decision that lots of people do, I know people with multiple properties that rent for this very reason.
Just thought I would clear this part up, sorry if it comes across as a taxation lesson

Hi,

I've been reading most of the posts. I have a few comments.

In relation to figuring out if GBC was living at the rental house or not, when he returned to the rental house (after a few days when the police allowed him back) to pick up clothes and toys for the three daughters, were his clothes in the basket? The basket didn't seem so full. I know for my two kids, clothes, pajamas, toys, etc. would have certainly filled the basket. If he needed to get pants, shirts etc. for himself too, one would have thought a single basket wouldn't have been enough space. Does this point to GBC having clothes already at his parents or elsewhere, i.e., he wasn't living at the rental?

Second, regarding the issue of what triggered the police to act so quickly after they came to the house, could one of the daughters have mentioned that they woke up and neither parent was there the night before, or even early morning? I know my 4 year old wakes almost always at 5 am and comes looking for his mum. It was noted earlier in this forum that ABC and GBC were not sleeping in the same bedroom in the rental house, thus being more logical that he didn't know when she went to bed etc. Can't remember who posted about the separate bedrooms. Maybe because they slept in different bedrooms that could in part trigger the police?

Also I do recall reading in the paper that ABC's car was in the show grounds on the morning her disappearance was reported, and was later moved to the rental house. Maybe I read it wrongly, or it was something misreported by the press, but I thought for sure I read that. It did seem odd. So many questions.

It is such a sad case. I imagine like some others here, there are elements of ABC's life we can relate to. One thing that bugs me, btw, in the press it keeps saying she was high achieving. I think she sounds to me like she was highly talented. Maybe more than GBC...

Lord help us. Just a few facts (to the best of my knowledge from more than one reliable source)

1. That house that the Baden-Clay's are/were in was the original house on the land that the Child Care Centre occupies now. AFAIK it's been a rental for a long time. It's got nothing to do with Bwana who lives in his own palace of dreams in Durness Street Kenmore.

2. GBC has been renting the Brookfield house with the family. He was not living elsewhere as suggested by someone.

3. It's not quiet secluded acreage as suggested, but it doesn't have directly adjoining residential neighbours. The church is on one side and childcare centre the other, with neighbours on the rear boundary and on the other side of the child care centre. Opposite is the Showgrounds unless you want to be pedantic, then there is technically a house high up the hill on Boscombe Road opposite (now owned by Daniel Tzvettkoff's parents to further fuel the gossip vine).

4. Baden-Clay was renting because he is broke and couldn't afford to purchase in Brookfield, but wanted to keep up the pretence of being a powerful mover and shaker. He traded his Lexus with the "Settle" number plates to downgrade to the Prado now in the pictures. It's suggested his firm was or is about to be placed in Administration.

5. <modsnip>

Just saw on channel 7 report at 6pm that witnesses have confirmed the whereabouts of one of the family vehicles on the night/morning that she disappeared.

They have had financial problems and he borrowed $300,000 late last year. He also moved the business to new premises in Taringa that I understand are bigger and cost a lot more.

There are only two properties in QLD owned by someone with the surname Baden-Clay.

Adam & Nicole in Regency Downs and Nigel & Elaine in Kenmore.

Adam is his brother - http://westside-news.whereilive.com.au/news/story/following-in-footsteps-of-forefather/

I checked her maiden name and there are no properties in her name.

And there have been plenty of cases where a partner has murdered another partner and that victim has had dozens of opportunities to press charges but each time fails to do so. Each time the police attend a domestic violence situation they have to fill in 8+ hours of paperwork to numerous organisations. Perhaps if those victims would press charges police would have more time to follow up on AVOs instead of doing paperwork.

And what does THAT have to do with THIS particular case?

It's not a for/against police here, in case that's slipped your mind

It's about finding a reason police DID respond unusally swiftly
and speculation as to whether or not ABC phoned or partially phoned
emergency services and was possibly intercepted and her phone tossed out of a window or door
--- all of which is part of websleuthing

(edited to say: came back to find what sounds like a defensive police person

Perhaps I struck a raw nerve? )
