JDigg, what are you referring to in the case? Sorry guys but I don't get what you are talking about.

Does it relate to us here or to the case?

Im not actually sure to be honest, I couldn't make heads or tails of it to be honest. I was hoping to see some good old school investigation discussion (can't say sleuthing, too american).

Anyway, has Tully got more up his sleeve, and I wonder if he's getting a tap on the shoulder to hush up.

In Australia, anyone who publishes is certainly operating under the same law, regardless of the publishing platform. This is the case regardless of whether you are a professional writer, such as a journalist or an author, or someone merely posting as a blogger, or randomly posting on forums, or posting on social media sites such a Facebook.

Regarding posting on websites: It's really important to note that under Australian law, defamation laws apply regardless of where the website is hosted. Just because a site is hosted in the US does not mean defamation legislation does not apply. It doesn't matter how people try to interpret the laws regarding defamation on the internet; the law still applies.

It's better to be cautious about the material you post online, rather than go by the "vibe".

If you look over my previous posts, you'll find links for all the information written above.

Cheers
WATSONIAN INSTITUTE: Welcome back Watsonian. We appreciate your legal guidance on this thread, especially regarding potential defamation and the Australian context.

Yes persons appearing before the star chamber can seek advice of their legal representatives, but legal representatives (well not strictly speaking) cannot speak on behalf of clients and can not advice them not to answer.
IMOO

the star chamber, great movie, clearly I didn't learn what hollywood wanted me to learn from it....because I'd still like to form my own, however I'd have a different way of dealing with offenders who got off on a legal technicality. no executions, I'd just use the system that saved them against them.
Back to Allison, I'm curious to know if we will get further clarification regarding GPS, car or phone? Either way, great work CM (I never thought I'd be praising the CM), I'm sure the publishing of this information is serving its purpose well.

My understanding of the role of the CMC is to investigate MAJOR crime and political / public service corruption. Is this correct? If so, why would the CMC get involved in a murder case of a housewife? Can anybody enlighten me here please?

THINKING: These are very interesting questions that you put forward here. I look forward to some further clarification as well.

What would be the implications for any other unlawful homicide case if there was somehow a deal being done through the star chamber for the main accused person? That would mean that anyone could keep quiet and just wait to have their case put before the star chamber.

IMO that is not the purpose of the star chamber, in fact I am not even sure what the purpose of a star chamber is in criminal homicide cases.

I thought the main reason was that at times (like a Royal Commission) a CMC Star Chamber could question and demand answers (without having them in the public domain and the MSM and public firming uninformed opinions and making a 'without prejudice' process difficult if not impossible) and subsequently decide if criminal or other charges need to or can be laid.

I suppose in the final analysis it is trying to get a conviction by any means and therefore 'ends justifying means'?

MOO

Agreed CC just posted a much longer version of your succinct question!

We investigate serious and organised crime such as drug trafficking, fraud, money laundering and networked paedophilia.
We can use our special powers when investigating crime, disrupting criminal syndicates and confiscating proceeds of crime. Our work complements that of other state, national and international law enforcement agencies.

The "LunchBreak" video has now been returned to front page on Courier Mail...

Baden-Clay immunity rumours

THE LUNCH BREAK: Rumours that major suspect should be given immunity have been denied by top lawmaker.

IF ONLY THERE WERE MORE RUMOURS- I have to say that I am a firm believer in 'where there is smoke there is fire!' as far as criminal investigations go!

The Mods don't verify who is a POI per se, they verify who is a POI 'for Websleuths purposes'. As i understand it, they do this after looking at all the links and police statements, and it is done if they believe that Police might not be naming the POI for other reasons. So basically for the purposes of discussion here GBC is a POI, and TM can be discussed as a second party possibly involved, but cannot be accused of murder. It is explained by Mods on page 1 of every thread.

Thanks! Why would the CMC get involved (if they do) in this case. If there was fraud in a large scale, maybe. However, it sound to me that if they do get involved (for whatever reason), we will be sleuthing this case for eternity! Nothing moves quickly in any Government department. IMO.

Agreed! Maybe not all, but a majority turn up to be true.

Peer pressure! ... Looks like I'm going to have to change mine as well. I have become a member of the minority, and in this "case", I don't like it. :floorlaugh:

1. How do we know sons age
2. Protecting him from.....what?
3. Everything they throw at you the possums would love lol

Just sort of pre-empting here, let's make sure we dont start discussing TM's sons. We are rehashing and have so little new info lately, and after being on here since the beginning I know how things can start to escalate into discussions which get out of hand. JMO, not a criticism or anything.

PT's take on this has interested me. I can't help thinking that before recent State govt changeover we had QPS saying that an arrest was very close blaa blaa. Govt changes - all of a sudden we hear nothing from QPS! PT was - maybe still is - an ALP member. I can't help but wonder if there isn't something political about this. JMHO.
