Yes, I heard the speech made by Kylie Duffield, Andrew Rowe's niece. From memory, on behalf of Christopher, the Rowe family and another family (I can't remember the name but I assume it was RR's family - her maiden name), she basically just thanked the SA police for their hard work and long hours put into the investigation. She also thanked the people of Kapunda for rallying around and coming forward and helping the invesigation get to 'this point' (ie an arrest being made). I thought I read a transcript somewhere in my travels...hmmm...I'll have a look around. The actual video of the speech may also be somewhere on the net too...

lol well I guess according to his article his mum did make a statement via other family members.

It must be suppressed in Victoria too ( or the media had other things they think are more important to report on) because this is news to me.

So were you in the actual court room during the proceedings? Any comments on how JD reacted to the crimes put forward?

No, unfortunately I was unable to get into the court room while the proceedings took place. I arrived a few minutes too late and was not about to challenge the 5 big burly cops who were guarding the door! LOL! (Next time I wont be late though!)
My understanding is that there was no reaction from the accused. He did not have any eye contact with the members of the gallery or react at all.

Well now i wonder if the rape was before or after she was dead. I just cant see how it could have been before, especially if he came with no weapon. Unless he managed to cover her mouth to stop her from screaming. Im sure a few loud screams would have alerted a parent and lets say for example her dad came in first when he was on top of her, if a struggle started with or without a weapon, why wouldht she get up when he was attacking the dad and run out side screaming and bang on a neighbour door or something? The news reports said family members fought until they were incapicitated. There are so many possibilties to this!

Okay.....so what if there was no machete involved. There's no murder weapon that's been found. Let's say it wasn't even a pre-planned. Could this have happened without premeditation?

I think he came with a weapon too. Why do we think it was a machete or a samuri sword? I have a knife in my butcher block that I'm pretty sure I could kill someone with...so why the rumours about a machete, etc.
