maybe I misunderstood and it was family and friends of CR and not his family.
As far as I know, family and friends of the accused have made no public statements whatsoever.

It is in Scotland
{mod edit}
Forgive me, but why not in Australia?
any report on what the family of the accused stated in the brief speech to the media?
Last night, a family source in Scotland said: "His mum Lorna says the evidence against him means it doesn't look good. We can't believe it - he was a quiet, gentle giant."
Is the rape charge public knowledge?
Guessing it was suppressed but media in Scotland "incorrectly" had it down as a rape/murder when in fact was officially only murder? Even though it was a suppressed rape/murder.
Yes, I heard the speech made by Kylie Duffield, Andrew Rowe's niece. From memory, on behalf of Christopher, the Rowe family and another family (I can't remember the name but I assume it was RR's family - her maiden name), she basically just thanked the SA police for their hard work and long hours put into the investigation. She also thanked the people of Kapunda for rallying around and coming forward and helping the invesigation get to 'this point' (ie an arrest being made). I thought I read a transcript somewhere in my travels...hmmm...I'll have a look around. The actual video of the speech may also be somewhere on the net too...
No, the rape charge was suppressed (in SA anyway)
I must also add that the mother seems to be a good person. She is in shock too like everyone else. I cannot imagine how she must be feeling right now.
Protect the little worm from what he himself has done? Suppression orders are ridiculous IMO.
Thank you for the wonderful post.
So were you in the actual court room during the proceedings? Any comments on how JD reacted to the crimes put forward?
Just to set things straight....that was not a statement made by the family of the accused, but the family of the victims.
I still think he came with a weapon.
