My mind is convinced that if this guy held out and didn't act on his fantasy for a few more years...he would have planned, and who knows if he would have gotten caught. That is the silver lining I think in this case. His impulsive way of not able to control his desire was so strong that he didn't even think of the planning part. He just thought of his desire.

OK another analogy, a guy finally gets to 3rd base with this girl, he had every intention to use protection, but he is so caught up in his desire that he didn't care about protection.

That was for you AussieCriminals J/k'ing

I do not watch scary movies but if anyone does, could they pinpoint any similarities with tis case and some movie?

Reason I ask is because I think he has fantasized about killing for years, he stated he liked scary movies. Perhaps one movie turned him on more, and maybe he wanted to do the something he saw in a movie because it turned him on.

I think that, in general, linking movies and video games to crimes are overstated. I am sure that there are some examples where people lose touch with reality and emulate something that they have played or watched. I am sure there are also examples of people being so oversensitised by what they see in the media, news, games and movies that they lose touch with reality, but I think it is more of an exception then a norm.

Considering the violence of this crime, perhaps the accused was influenced by some form of media - whether it be the daily news, games, movies or songs (and yes the news, in my opinion, is the most influencial of them all). Why? Because it is real, and most humans can distinguish reality from fiction.

Speaking for myself, the music I listen to, the movies I watch and the games I play are chosen based upon the mood I am in at the time. For me, it is not the movie, music, games that dictate how I feel, but rather my feelings dictate what I am going to watch, listen to or play. It's a whole world of difference.

If people want to go on a crusade against violent video games and movies (I am not saying that you are Lera, just that it's quite common for the media to link whatever game or movie the kid was watching at the time to whatever crime they commit), then they should do so keeping in mind that the media, current events programs, and news that infiltrate our daily lives and highlight (somewhat) real events are the most pervasive of all media forms.

I am not saying that the media should be ostracised per se. But it is rare to find out the whole, unbiased, truth from them. If you want to find the truth in australia then you generally have to read abc news, then channel 9 or fox news - and the truth lies somewhere in between the two. Anyway, I am going on an unrelated rant here and I apologise.

Not sure how to do that but I'll give it a go.

The posing someone posted but got deleted by a mod...at any rate...sometimes posing is showcasing and directed at the cops or it could be his illogical way of trying to stage the crime scene but he couldn't logically figure it all out. It will look to the investigators as a confusing. This could be the case here too.

Well done....next time you see a convo like that take screen caps of it and store them on file...these pages disappear way too fast....

And that is so interesting regarding the friend. Wonder how many other stories of this kind of thing there are out there....can't help thinking about what a violent city Glasgow is and wondering about his family history.

Tart found this earlier...very interesting.

No I'm not saying that it was a movie or game that made him snap at all. I'm saying that he already had the fantasy but seeing something in a movie enhanced it. Like if he said to himself "Oh yeah, I like that, and he then incorporated that into his fantasy.

If a person is going to kill or has the desire to kill and everything about the crime scene in this case tells me he had that desire, then NO MOVIE will make anyone kill. It just helps their fantasy along, adds more detail to their already thinking. That is all I meant.

I'm guessing that is why at first they didnt know if it was a murder/suicide. Because he probably staged it to look like she did it.

Do you know what it said on the post before it got deleted? Obviously in not so heavy wording?

Yeah dont get me wrong, i have nothing against violent movies, games etc and dont think they should be banned because they could influence some people and im not saying he was/may have been influenced by any or that they were the driving factor.

I think you have to have 50 post. Usually you just copy and paste the share link in here where you type your message. Don't need the embed stuff.

No telling Mrs G, he has shown not to hide much, if I were him (I'm so not) I would have walked the rail line I see. I'm thinking he had blood from head to toe...why risk someone seeing him?

Or he actually did drive?

Why do you think he walked up the main street?

I drove to Kapunda a week or so ago and viewed the house that it happened on, the heartbreaking thing is the police station is located on the main street, which is literally a 10 second drive to the house. Had that man reported the screams, who knows how different things might be.

Given the location of the Police Station there i sincerely doubt he walked the main street afterwards.
