Australia - Arrest, lockdown, bomb squad, at Australian Navy base

HMAS Navy Training base in Hastings, Melbourne, is on lockdown and the bomb squad are 'investigating', after a man was arrested there.

Breaking news so not many details at the moment.

Article linked above is updated now. A number of items were found in a room on base, including a hazardous material. Besides the lockdown, there is also a 400m exclusion zone around it. Arrested man still not named though.

Well how odd. Police found no suspicious materials when they examined them, have handed the case back to navy defence who aren't releasing any more details. The arrested man has been released, and there is no link to terrorism. Lockdown lifted.

Better safe than sorry I suppose but???
