The resident's CCTV footage is near to her home (not the showgrounds behind her home) ... somewhere along the blue dotted path on this Google map.

I'm guessing on West St, as the young child and two men were seen walking along the railway tracks going south. CCTV could be set up looking out back of a house toward the railway tracks imo.

If it is her in the CCTV (and let's face it, who else could it be), then she absolutely must've known the men. Is it possible that she woke up and two men who were staying at the house and sleeping in the lounge after a drinking session, decide that they need ciggies or 'something' and decide to let her come for a walk with them? We haven't heard whether she returned with her sleeping bag and Gnarly, although I suspect not. Maybe she had her sleeping bag wrapped around her shoulders to keep warm while they walked? Maybe the men decided for some reason (maybe she fell asleep) to leave her where she was and head home. The next morning, mum wakes and freaks out and in the confusion the men either don't remember or realise that they've really effed up and say nothing. Mum rings the police and then it all starts happening. Meanwhile the person at the other end wakes up after some late night babysitting and freaks out when they realise that the child isn't supposed to be there and wanting to avoid the eyes of the law, keeps Chloe there until they realise that the game is up and then drop her back near the house under the cover of darkness.

WDYT???

Or they decided to take Chloe as payback over some kind of stupid dispute going on? Maybe realising how much they were hurting Tammy was what made them realise they had to take Chloe back.

I think you may be on the right track here. Mum did say that she had trouble going to sleep and she kept getting up that night.

Maybe they were just too intoxicated to remember they took her with them - just simply forgot about her.

The only thing is that she had her blanket as well as her sleeping bag and I doubt she would have taken both with her for a walk - the blanket and Gnarly Yes, but not the sleeping bag.

In other words, an Inspector would only state how she looked to him in regards to HIS professional capacity (bruised, battered, injured, possibly dehydrated). I agree I don't believe she was out wandering all that time. Being in the USA I'm not familiar with "kilometre" so I googled it and it's roughly 6 miles. I'm sure she was not overlooked by anyone during that 6 mile radius search. I think someone had her and released her. I don't think it was because they were worried they'd be identified on that cctv footage though because releasing her or not they could still be identified. JMO

I'm so elated that this child has been found!! I've been following along silently, not commenting until I had caught up on reading so as not to ask dumb questions ;) I can't wait to find out now what happened to her during the time she was gone. Hopefully nothing sinister. Welcome Home Chloe!!!

ITA. Toddler Chloe would have been examined by a physician for sexual abuse. Chloe would be anesthetized (In the USA) for the vaginal examination. She would sleep for a long while. (My Oldest Granddaughter had the procedure at age 3 and Thank God it was a bacterial infection and not molestation)
Mum had 3 other kiddos at home and nursed the youngest babe so I can't fault her for going home for a while.

Even if it was some kind of 'mistake' after Chloe followed them out of the house (if that is what happened) there is zero excuse for not returning her as soon as the fact she was missing hit the news and they should still go to :jail:

There was only 20 mins between them being seen walking south along the railway tracks, till they were seen returning (without the small child) along the railway tracks. Chloe could have been promised a treat of some kind, so she traipsed along happily in front of them to their nearby destination.

I have a feeling that the items that were found could be something of Chloe's (bulky sleeping bag?) found in the rubbish, or somewhere around the outside of the house.

Seems to me that payback could be a motive. And I think that CCTV could have been the final inspiration to let Chloe go. There was already the punch in the face (from accusations?), and the police 'not saying if there were any persons of interest'.

Oh absolutely! I wasn't suggesting that they shouldn't be punished and apologise if that's how it sounded.

Great news she was found safe!

My thought is the cops put the fear of Christ into some suspects, and "miraculously" she is found soon after.

I am wondering if the men walking with the child (Chloe?) could have stopped along the way of their walk to pick up cigarettes, money at an ATM, or other items, along their way...

I see an ANZA ATM Childers Woolworth's Petrol and a Coles Express Childers (among other "stores") along the blue dotted path on the map...

Could LE have possibly found some further footage of the two men (possibly without the child) on CCTV at any of these other locations.... Now that they have the grainy residential security footage from LF?

nspector Guteridge said police were interested in any information that may assist in the investigation following rumours that the person or persons of interest may be close to the family.

"We are searching for any information. People out there will know things and we are encouraging them to come forward.

"There's a lot of rumour at the moment and certainly anyone that may have (information) should bring that to us so we can examine that thoroughly."
