Yes, I'm wondering if police have managed to refine the CCTV image and determined who the two men and small child were ... the ones who were walking along the same way that the family walked to town.

I'm also wondering if they have located the blue Commodore wagon & trailer owner. I suspect, as sleep mentioned, that was the vehicle that could be seen driving by in the CCTV vision. They may have been able to offer more descriptive info to the police.

Hopefully the driver of the blue Commodore has been located. I was wondering how that car figured into the equation. Len or Les Fennell the owner of the residential cctv, as mentioned in MSM, lives in Churchill St, Childers according to Whitepages. http://www.whitepages.com.au

Looking at Google Maps, Churchill Street seems a tad far from Pioneer Park where the cctv footage apparently captured the two guys and the child. Perhaps Mr. Fennell owns a business along the Bruce Highway that has cctv. Those grainy shots we saw via MSM look to have been filmed directly across the road from the public toilets mentioned by Mr. Fennell.

Thank you, SouthAussie! :seeya:

If this is true... the "kids are NEVER abducted for drug debts" people are going to be unhappy! :seeya:

All I care about is that Chloe is safe. Since she was abducted, I'm glad it was for a drug debt instead of a pedophile. :twocents:

I'm starting to think the kidnapping was a hoax. Things just don't add up, and every new report that comes out gets more and more hinky. It's strange that Chloe would tell family that she was with "daddy's friends" but didn't say one word of that to LE. And why Chloe if all the girls were sleeping in the same room that night? Why not one of the other two children, or why not all of them? Maybe because she is the youngest and least likely to really know what's going on? Less chance of her telling? Easier to be whisked away?

From the beginning at least 3 of the 4 amigos have said things like "someone close to the family" or "someone that knows me". I will admit that if someone took my child, knowing how rare it is for a kidnapping to be random, I'd probably think it could be someone I might be acquainted with on some level, maybe a neighbor, someone from a school sporting event, etc. But they basically said, and were pretty adamant about it, it's "a close family friend" and I find it odd that someone would think that immediately. You don't normally think a close family friend took your kid. Someone you are acquainted with on some level... maybe. A close friend... no way. While it is something that is possible, and happens to be the case most times, you don't think that because you trust close friends!

Unless, it really was a close family friend that took Chloe from the home, but they didn't do it to kidnap her. What if they took her to hide her and make it look like a kidnapping so that someone else could be framed? What if GC knew he was in over his head with this drug debt? What if he thought there is no way he was going to come up with that money? So if you can't come up with the money, maybe you can get rid of the person you owe the money to?

Just speculating and :twocents:

There was a little girl in UK who went missing for about 4 weeks, turned out mum and stepdad had arranged to "hide" her in some random relatives house in an attempt to get money from media stories, snd so this relative could pretend to find her and claim the reward money. So not the first time a parent has faked a kidnapping:

i am glad she was found and safe but my concern is, if the father cannot (won't or whatever) pay the money he owes his dealers...does it mean that they will escalate their tactics?
part of me hopes it was all a hoax to get some money from the public because, if it is true that she was kidnapped to force dad to pay off debts, the threat remains: they can take any of the kids

Inside job? To get the debt holder locked up and not demanding repayment?

Something just isn't feeling right here.

I didn't like the best friend's attempt at tears in the initial news clips either.

Interesting idea .. something is so not right here, I agree.

looking back, I think the abduction was a hoax. Either they thought they could generate enough community donations to pay back their drug debt, or they could frame the supplier and have them locked up.

Garth looked relaxed after Chloe was returned, perhaps he was just medicated?

"But Insp McNab said Chloe had not referred to “daddy’s friends” when questioned by specialist police investigators who have spoken to her several times."

"The Courier-Mail can reveal Mr Campbell was seen on a street near his house the night Chloe disappeared, about 20 minutes before his daughter went missing."

http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/...e-nation-on-edge/story-fnihsrf2-1226883039144

Who is all of this coming from? The Courier Mails sources? Well who are they? Some more friends? Or still MS? What is their agenda? Could they be the kidnappers trying to push the blame onto GC? Can anyone actually see a broken or open window in that picture, or is it just my eyes that cannot see broken glass? I can see what looks like a torn flyscreen, but that is a very different thing to a broken window. They don't seem all that reliant of facts and accuracy. The reports that Garth was seen outside come from the Courier Mails source. Maybe the same source that can see a broken window in that picture. When I saw Tammy on the tv appealing for the return of her daughter, I truly believed she did not know where Chloe was. I still believe that.

Here's what I think (subject to change) dad arranged the fakeroonie kidnapping to get him out of this $2000 drug debt (somehow), after a night of drinking with his not so intelligent friend, (maybe after a carton of XXXX it seemed like a genius move on his behalf). Someone was contacted to 'come get Chloe', and the poor kid was passed on. Tammy may well have not known about it until the morning, but I don't think she has been straightforward either, she probably was genuinely beside herself that her daughter was with some random friend of Garth, but she has told a number of lies now that we are aware of.

So basically I think this whole thing was the stupidest plot in the history of 'small town wannabe 🤬🤬🤬🤬-life', and if this is what happened, I hope DoCS steps in, those kids deserve a lot better than what they have had so far. It's fairly obvious now that they have been living in a high-risk environment either way, lots of drinking and drug taking going on at home, and really the poor kids, I feel very sorry for them.

It sounds harsh but I would be naming names the moment I suspected someone had nabbed a child of mine. Nothing and I mean NOTHING would scare me more than losing my child. I do realize this family are victims of a heinous crime. However, no child should ever be put in harms way and if someone so much as made a threat to me about my child -well there is a responsibility I have to protect my family -so I think it is irresponsible for them not to be on to the police like lightning. Some scum bag with threats and a big drug ego is enough of a reason to play safe for your family and go to the authorities about a few grand.

BBM

Sounding more and more like it to me. I was always uneasy with the early video clips of dad and friend speaking of Chloe being missing.

Not to mention the punch in the face.

Yes that video just didn't work for me, if I was allowed to say it here, I'd hazard a good guess as to who the two men were, caught on the neighbour's CCTV.
Seems as soon as it was announced the CCTV existed Chloe was returned.

Or maybe you'd hope that someone would put up a reward for "finding" her? Or people would set up a fund for the family, similar to that of Madeline McCann?

Earlier on in the thread, someone mentioned the UK case of Shannon Mathews, who was "kidnapped" by a friend of her mother's, at her request. They did it in the hope that they would benefit from a fund/reward.

What about if Garth was seen on tape delivering Chloe to someone who was going to hide her .... but they all got scared as they weren't expecting such a huge reaction? Maybe Garth thought that if people knew Chloe had been kidnapped, the person he owed money to would back off due to such a traumatic situation.

Seems like a very sympathetic kidnapping when the child is allowed to take her comforter toy and the sleeping bag/blanket she usually has. Seems more like a sleepover than kidnapping to me.

Just thinking outloud and all MOO.

ETA - Just posted this, then read back a couple of pages - can see I'm not alone in thinking along these lines!!

I also do not see "a number of smashed and open windows" as they put it. I do however see what appears to be a torn screen, possibly two. Looks like one of the kiddos chalked up the door, maybe a window as well.

I was wondering about the credibility of this "Courier Mail" newspaper. After about 1/2 hour on Google it appears to me that it may be not much more than a tabloid really. I'd take what they say with a grain of salt, although I generally feel that most papers are going to be roughly 99% crap and the other 1% isn't really worth reading, especially local/provincial/township papers. I wonder if the association is that they are dealers themselves. I've thought that all along. The debt could be from using it up instead of reselling it.

My very first comment on this site yesterday was along those lines Mrs N! I hope it wasn't staged for a paid interview! :scared:
