There's more to the story, I'm sure of it.

Extra detectives arrivied yesterday, even though police had his fingerprints and they matched the windowsill? They knew it as of 1.30am the day before, according to news reports. Why would they call 30 or 40 extra detectives if they had that evidence and he was acting alone?

He seems to have no links to any other place except the Childers area and close surrounds, yet police were investigating up to Hervey Bay and down to Tweed Heads?

The mother of the abducted child suggested there would be another arrest, yet:

He had no links to the family, yet they took the DNA of 20 friends and family members AFTER they had his fingerprint?

He had no links to the family, yet he knew where to go through the house to find a sleeping child - and managed to take her without waking her up (or her sisters, who she was right next to)?

It's not adding up.
Nope. not adding up.
Can you locals look and see if the arrested is on a sexual offender list?
Strangers dont know who sleeps in what room in what bed!!!

Maybe he had no prior convictions so his fingerprints weren't identified until after he was taken to the police station. If he had no prior convictions, whats going on to make him kidnap a child and break into a tennis club all of a sudden? Maybe he is having some kind of breakdown? CC may be very luck she was taken at the start of his crime spree, not at the end of it...

And Ted Bundy was handsome, well liked and respected...

And Jeffrey Dahmer was quiet, shy and kind.

And BTK and John Wayne Gacy were well respected members of their communities for decades.

And I'm giving myself a self-imposed timeout. :blushing::seeya:

Daum right JLSC.

Maybe he is having some kind of breakdown?

They all try for that in court but his actions certainly look to fit the bill :hen:

IF this was a random crime, how did the perp know to even feel sorrow for Chloe?

  • #766
What is the feeling when you see his photo? Any feedback please?

The photo of him in the blue singlet & koppers logs () behind him.

I give up, he doesn't look like a bad man but I thought that about Cowan being filmed in the town mall.

This is what stumps me. There house doesn't look like one that screams " come and see what we have to steal" he must've known about their family situation. Unless he is doing someone else's dirty work. It's pretty much the oddest case I have ever heard of. I wish they could release more details. The fact they are saying he had his arms wrapped around him and hunched over in court tells me he's scared. I really think he sounds a bit simple.

Why did she not cry out if this person has no family ties? Unless she was still asleep I guess but this so doesn't make any sense to me......

Given that the child isn't being bought up in the most ideal home life and the brief glimpse we have had into the family, friends and their misgivings. I think its pretty safe to say that the little girl would be used to being around lots of strangers and handed around a bit, So if a stranger said to her they were "Daddy's Friend" she'd be pretty accepting, I assume.

Did someone just mention kopper logs :panic::panic::panic:

It sounds like a nutty reason, but it might just be what he did think .. maybe he is short of a few screws and thought he was actually helping her? Might explain the washed toy and the fact she appeared to have been well taken care of?

I think so.

I mean - I feel sorry for the conditions she is living in too. But why single her out, when there were 3 other children there?

I guess the difference between him and me is that I have concerns about the living conditions of a child I don't kidnap and take the child home with me.

Unless the house was left wide open, it's not the type of house you'd WANT to burgle.

I think the burglary charge is from the tennis club and the police had the fingerprints.
My aged mother would feed & clothe a child. But they wouldn't harbour the child for days nor do they understand the new rules of our society or would not understand the problem in giving a child lollies. She's from a different time.

Way OT, but haven't things changed since the days of penpals!? I remember it was such a big deal and that you had to join a pen pal group to even find a pen pal. I know several people who formed life long friendships and have had overseas visits with their childhood penpals. Now we worry about our kids having potentially creepy internet friends ...

I was just thinking about the same thing. My post about penpals made me feel old. Do kids even write letters anymore? Dear grandma, etc... I'm sure some still do, at least in birthday cards, etc., but I think the art of handwritten letters might be a dying art. Kind of like cursive.

Court: Accused abductor 'felt sorry' for how girl was living

Snr Const Sperling said fingerprints found at the scene of the alleged abduction matched prints taken from Kane in Maryborough, where he has been accused of committing a break-in at a tennis club at 1.30am yesterday.

When interviewed, Snr Const Sperling said Kane stated "I had to get out of Childers because of the heat".

"The defendant's vehicle was full of his property," she said.

The prosecutor said Kane allegedly went on to make further admissions, including "I took (the child) and brought her back" and that he "felt sorry for the conditions she was living in".

"During investigations at the defendant's address, police have located remains of a fire with remnants of some items in it," she said.

"There is a concern if the defendant is released he will attempt to destroy that evidence."

By the photo's and footage of Childers I doubt they are the only family living like that. Why not feel sorry for another family, why this one? MOO

Wow what a strange twist to this already confussing mess.
Maybe he has been watching from a far for a while now and seeing what he thinks is neglect from her parents. Probably tried a few times to enter the house without success. Then this night the window was left open and he took his opportunity to show this little girl how she could be looked after. With out drugs and alcohol and dropkick mates around.
Maybe CC reminded him of child of his and he became interested. I feel there maybe a stalking element to it. JMO

Strange strange strange

Chloroform maybe?

hired gun maybe?
(if not a sex crime)

The Inspector said he acted alone so I think we can safely rule that out.

Not saying this is the case, but if by chance he was a hired gun (not very smart leaving a finger print), he just might not be divulging to investigators who hired him.
