was this the reason for a DNA profile to be looked into, so it could be compared to relatives of the missing man?
Seems like the family may have done a one-to-one comparison against the 1979 Mundaring remains.
However with the current AFP program involving @othram this case should eventually work it's way through and the remains finally be identified.

seems there was consideration it may have been a long term missing man around the time this DNA profile was obtained. Reading the attached article the missing man was ruled out as being the deceased from Chidlow.

I dont know, but I do know there are several missing men who fit this profile so I hope it has been compared to them as well.
