RELATED STORY: Father, daughter blame each other for killing mother dumped in suitcase
RELATED STORY: Annabelle Chen's daughter to plead not guilty to mother's murder, court told
RELATED STORY: Ex-husband and daughter in court over 'body in suitcase' death
A 27-year-old woman has cried in the dock as the Supreme Court heard details of the head injuries suffered by her mother, whose body was found stuffed inside a suitcase floating on Perth's Swan River.

Tiffany Wan is on trial, along with her 67-year-old father, Ah Ping Ban, accused of murdering 58-year-old Annabelle Chen in June or July of 2016.

It is alleged Ms Chen was bashed to death in her Mosman Park home before her body was put inside the suitcase and dumped in the Swan River in Fremantle.

Today the trial heard from radiologist Christopher O'Donnell who examined scans and x-rays of Ms Chen's injuries.

He testified she had suffered a fractured skull which in his opinion would have been inflicted with "extreme force".

Dr O'Donnell said there were also fractures to Ms Chen's ribs and to one of the bones in her hand which, if inflicted, would have required a lesser degree of force than the skull fracture.

Ms Wan started crying as the x-rays of her mother's skull were shown to the court.

Hmmm, bit of a he said/she said! I think the daughter did it.

I think the same.
As daughter states, she was very close to her mother, wouldn't she 'fall apart', if she found her father murdered her loved mother, and not cover for him.
I guess, we'll be hearing lies +++, as now both admit to this.

From above post, this lie is massive:
"In the statement, Ms Wan said she had last seen her mother alive on June 30, when she walked out of her Mosman Park home with a suitcase and got into a car that was driven away by a man".

Great that these two are apart, and now cannot collude to get the same story, as now charged: probably thought they 'got away with it', and now too late to incriminate a stranger etc.
So blame one another!!!

I'm leaning towards the daughter too and the father covered for her, she admits being the last to see her alive in her initial statement. Interestingly, she said her mother left with a suitcase and got into a car driven away by a man. (APB left with the suitcase, Annabelle inside it, and he drove away to dump the body.) She can recall that memory without much effort I'm sure.

Annabelle suffered 25 blunt force injuries to her head. I wonder what kind of weapon was used, for it to be the daughter there'd have to be a weapon, imo. If the injuries were inflicted with a fist, then I'd say it was APB and TW helped cover it up. Maybe, they both attacked her and he disposed of the body.

Answering my post above, it does appear it was TW, a weapon was used. APB could have been present though. Imo, they should both go down for murder.

In an opening address, Mr Bans lawyer David Brustman, QC, said his client maintained it was his daughter who was in some way responsible for Ms Chens death, and he only found out about it when he flew into Perth from Singapore on June 30.
Mr Brustman said when he arrived at his ex-wifes home, his daughter was in a “distressed” state and told him about having an argument with her mother, and that she had been “struck by an implement in the bedroom upstairs”.

These pair were pretty clumsy, a pair of glasses similar to those of APBs and an old scooter also similar to TWs were found by police divers near the water where the body was dumped. o_O

Was Annabelle Chen killed over a $10M divorce ... - Daily Mail
Police investigate if $10m divorce was motive for killing of Perth artist | Daily Mail Online 14, 2016 ... Police are investigating if a $10 million divorce settlement received by Annabelle Chen played a part in her death after her mutilated body was ..

In the above DM article, as the tiles are similar to a previous home, were there a supply, left over, when building the bathroom!!
"Last week, Post Newspapers reported that tiles matching those found in the suitcase appeared to match bathroom tiles in a Mosman Park house the 57-year-old victim once owned.

That property was sold by Ms Chen, a reclusive artist with estranged family in Perth, 11 years ago and the home has since had two different owners.

There is no suggestion that any of the owners or residents since 2005 ever met Ms Chen."

Plus the rental car used by Ban, was seen on CCTV near the river, and Ms Chen's DNA (or was it blood) was found in back seat of that car.

Annabelle Chen murder trial: Accused says ex-wife linked to China ...
https://thewest.com.au/.../crime/annabelle-chen-murder-trial-accused-says-ex-wife-link...
15 hours ago - The man who found Annabelle Chen's body stuffed in a suitcase and dumped in the Swan River gave evidence in the high-profile murder case ...

A Singaporean man accused of murdering his former wife and dumping her body in the Swan River told police the victim was linked to the Taiwanese army secret service and former Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping.

Annabelle Chen, whose body was found in a suitcase in the river in July 2016, has been described as an intensely religious woman who volunteered at a temple, enjoyed art and was financially stable.

Yesterday, a Supreme Court jury was told Ms Chen, of Mosman Park, may also have been trained by the secret service.

Deng Xiaoping at the 50th anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army.

He told officers his former wife was groomed to be part of the secret service and said she was highly trained in how to use weapons and influence people with her good looks, but may not have ended up joining.

Mr Ban said he was in contact with Mr Deng through his work and described his wife as someone who was upstanding with officials and a god-daughter to one of the powerful Chinese figure’s children.
He told officers he owned an online gambling business, hydraulic power plant and a nightclub and said he had 20,000 employees and no enemies.

In one of the articles (unable to post: will keep trying), a Neuropathologist states, Ms Chen could have survived for up to 5 hours, after these horrific head injuries. :(:(

In a different article below, Ms Chen would have been alive for at least 2 hours.

This is such an horrifically brutal crime. The more I read, the worse it gets.

Imagine your mother lying there, still breathing, after the brutal attack.
This will haunt the daughter for the rest of her life:D:D:D:D
Also inmates, knowing this, will make sure the daughter pays in prison.:):):):):):)

I can’t even imagine hitting my mother anywhere once, let alone 25 times until I bashed her head in — or standing there while my father did that and then help to dispose of her body in a suitcase in the river.

When my elderly Mum died, of natural causes, after I cared for her for many years, I fell apart: I couldn't get out of bed, for 2 days.
Years later I am still grieving.
Similarly with my many pets, who are no longer here, I grieve.
Yet people, as on this thread, and many others, in the News etc, think differently: a different breed.
Today, I even opened the door, 'shooing' the fly, so it could go outside: it did, and happily flew away, to find his friends.:)
I guess you have all heard of the Orca, who carried her dead calf, for 17 days.
I cried, when I heard this.
I follow websleuths, to toughen up, and 'see' others:(

I’m sorry for the loss of your Mum, tmar. Sending you prayers of comfort and strength in your time of grief. And for the loss of your pets too.

Yes, there’s no understanding these ‘People of the Lie’ as M. Scott Peck describes them. A different breed to us, indeed.

Never toughen up, tmar. Stay the sweet person that you are x

Bo, Thanks for your kind words.
My Post followed, when you expressed your love for your Mum.
She is a lucky lady, and I am sure, she knows.:):):)
Bo, I also know of your sad background, mentioned in past posts.
I feel for you, and know you are 'still suffering'.
Perhaps there are many on websleuths, with sad histories, trying to help, 'those that are unable', for justice.
Look at the many lovely animal stories we hear of :elephants, cats bringing up baby squirrels, lions and their handlers years later, etc, etc.
and then these horrid humans!!!!!
