Episode 6: The Pharmacist

Andrew Jones is a deeply spiritual man who came to Bathurst after studying pharmacy, travelling and working in a small hospital in Nepal, and studying religion in Sydney. When Janine disappeared, Jones lived alone at The Scots School in Bathurst in an arrangement where he had boarding house accommodation in return for giving up some spare time to coach the students. He worked in a pharmacy near Janine’s menswear store and he had bought clothing there. He drove a small red car, a Renault 19 series. And he became a significant person of interest in the police investigation. He has always emphatically denied wrongdoing and says police have ruined his reputation by unfairly targeting him. He insists Janine has never been in his car which police seized years later for DNA testing. Women in this episode relate their experiences with him - but Jones states that the encounters which they describe never happened.

This was the best episode for me, ties alot of thing together IMO
Yep, this is one fascinating episode .... especially the info about AJ having an address in Piper Street at the time Janine disappeared. Had a look at the map and Keppel's a couple of streets up. He could have used the servo on the corner that looked directly at Janine's house. Does anyone know the address number in Piper Street, I'm super curious. And then he apparently had an address in Keppel Street after Janine vanished. Now, if they didn't know about these properties, it's possible he had another car that they didn't know about too .... another red car? I hope he's innocent, and if so, hopefully his name can be cleared, but it's all pretty interesting at this point. Still working my way through all the bonus articles and things at this point.
PS: Do we know if that servo was there at the time in 2001, or something else; would be interested to know that too.

I caved yesterday and bought a subscription. I’m all caught up now. I was disappointed to find out today that there are a limited number of episodes planned though. I don’t really feel like I have enough information so far to make any strong judgments. I feel like there is still so much more that could be explored in depth in upcoming episodes.
Good on ya Loxoli, that was quick, haha ... I'll probably be up to speed by tomorrow too, will listen to Episode 7 tonight.

I don't think the # in Piper St is not known . No idea about the servo

Does anyone know where this sketch is from and who described this person? It was posted on the Michelle Bright thread and the poster said that it was related to Janine.

Yep my thoughts exactly Loxil. I don't get "good vibes" from AJ.

I'll also just pop this here

Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - Register of practitioners

Comparing those images just bumped him right to the top of the list for me. Especially when considering the other evidence, including the close proximity of his (secret?) residence in Piper St, the handbag found near Scots School (do we have any more details on this?) and the red car. But the furrowed eyebrows, close set eyes, dark features and square jaw are uncanny.

Also the girls he tried to get into his car too ;)

I’m a part of the group but haven’t had a chance to read the posts. I’ll definitely have to check it out. Sounds very interesting!
There is some good discussions , but alot of crap too ;) Kylie , Adam & Hedley answer questions ( mostly Kylie & Hedley )

Kylie is back in Bathurst now filming for the doco & asking for anyone to come forward again with info

I wouldn't say that Piper Street is near Rocket Street. There's another parallel street in between, Lambert Street, before Rocket Street.
See the map below.

Piper Street is the next parallel street up from Keppel Street, then Lambert Street, then Rocket Street.

PS: In previous post I meant Piper Street's near Rocket, whooops, not Keppel, was too late to edit.

So many factors pointing towards AJ: a couple of women who said he tried to get them into his car, his appearance relating to the photo fit by the lady who was stalked 10 mins earlier, his car description, he declined to give the police his dna sample when requested, his profession being someone that Janine could trust to get a lift somewhere, his general profile matching that of a potential perpetrator.

I really hope Hedley &/or the police continue to research every avenue relating to AJ - speaking to neighbours to see if he went out in his car late at night and anything else they know, speaking to past work colleagues about his behavior etc.

If it is him and knowing his profession, I wonder if he offers the women a spiked drink when they get in his car, takes them to his vacant property...?

Yes, a lot seems to be pointing to AJ .... quite possible about the drink spiking @Seriallyaddicted , h'mm, being a pharmacist he'd know a thing or two.
Are there any photos of him in short sleeves in any photos, has anyone seen one, would be interested to see if he has the hairy arms!
Re the stalking and notes left for Janine, I was thinking that was around the time she disappeared, I didn't realise till I saw the police report in The Australian that it was actually late 1998. I think AJ moved to Bathurst in 2000, wasn't it? But then again we don't know when he picked up that address in Piper Street (either bought or renting). Curious.
Also interesting to find out he had a bicycle at the time .... no number plate on that for scooting around.
