what do you mean claire?
You don't believe corruption has been rife through the nsw police force?

Or the part about journo's lifting dirty rugs for a look underdeath?
Do you think the police would have brought charges to Chris Dawson without Hedley Thomas showing the failures and corruption there??

There are amazing police in nsw!
Things are def improving. But the damage over the years can not be ignored.
One bad egg contaminates a whole cake. Thats just the reality.

There are alot of good cops in the NSWPF, a hell of a lot, but as in every profession there are bad apples that give everyone else a bad name IMO

And IMO alot of the bad apples seem to make their way up the ladder.............
You are spot on. For many years the NSW police force was very corrupt but fortunately with modern technology they are more accountable for their actions.

I don’t know the answer to your question, sorry. I was wondering though, have these notes ever been analysed for comparison with any of the suspect’s handwriting? It looks like a very distinct handwriting style to me.
Thanks Loxoli, will keep looking around. Good question, it is quite distinct writing, one would hope they've compared them, but got no idea at this point. It's good they've put the notes out there in the public domain though, someone might recognise the writing and come forward, you never know ....

Still catching up on reading all the interesting posts here .... if I could just ask, do we know what number in Rocket Street Janine was living? Was just having a look, it's a pretty long street, a big park on one side I notice.
Been wondering about the notes found in her bag, the one that said "I've missed you" ... "missed you", from where/from what? Did she go on a holiday, and is being watched by a neighbour/was a neighbour her stalker? Missed from a relationship? So many possibilities, but "I've missed you" is really interesting.
PS: As an aside, I follow Chaldean numerology, so I'm always looking to find the house number too.

Oh great, thanks Dr Sleuth. Number 11, so that's down near the corner of Torch Street .... service station in view across the road, neighbours either side. Don't know if the servo was there at the time, probably was - that's interesting.
PS: Looking at my Chaldean numerology address meaning .... interpretations are statistically, of course. So, address No.11 "A number that will show trouble with the opposite sex. A number of trials and tests, not favourable. A number of love over hate."

The fourth episode The Dirty Tav is now up on Podbean.

Podbean - PodcastVisitLimit

I have to laugh at the title because as a local for many years I have never heard The Metro Tavern referred to as the dirty tav.
There were pubs back then that had a worse reputation and the Metro was actually considered a bit better and a bit more upmarket than those.
I think maybe a select "very few" people might have used the nickname but I'm positive it was not in general use by the majority of the Bathurst population. I had never heard of it until this podcast and I came in contact with many people on a daily basis.

Episode 6: The Pharmacist

Andrew Jones is a deeply spiritual man who came to Bathurst after studying pharmacy, travelling and working in a small hospital in Nepal, and studying religion in Sydney. When Janine disappeared, Jones lived alone at The Scots School in Bathurst in an arrangement where he had boarding house accommodation in return for giving up some spare time to coach the students. He worked in a pharmacy near Janine’s menswear store and he had bought clothing there. He drove a small red car, a Renault 19 series. And he became a significant person of interest in the police investigation. He has always emphatically denied wrongdoing and says police have ruined his reputation by unfairly targeting him. He insists Janine has never been in his car which police seized years later for DNA testing. Women in this episode relate their experiences with him - but Jones states that the encounters which they describe never happened.

This was the best episode for me, ties alot of thing together IMO

Oh wow, thanks for the update Drsleuth, sounds fascinating. Any mention of photos from back in the day showing his hands and arms .... matching the description that was put out, per chance? Last episode for me was No.4, hanging out for 5 and 6 now ..... wish we could be rewarded with an episode for picking up a copy of The Australian at the supermarket, hey ......

Here is an article from The Western Advocate (local Bathurst paper) from 2009.
A quite indepth one about Andrew Jones.

It is submitted that as Mr Jones knew Ms Vaughan and it is likely that she knew that he was a pharmacist and hence a professionally trained person in the health care industry, it is likely that she would have trusted him even though she did not know him well. As a consequence, she could have entered his car that night even though she was not particularly familiar with him.

Some may maintain suspicions about Mr Jones. However, Mr Spohr [Mr Jones’ legal representative] is correct in pointing out that there is no direct or forensic evidence against him and that this inquest found none.

Be careful with these types of offers, nothing illegal but often you need to cancel before a certain time otherwise you are down as continuing to subscribe.

I'm curious about the bag that was found in a drain two years after Janine's disappearance. So it was said to contain documents relating to Janine, and the drain was near the Scots School, coincidentally where AJ was living at the time of Janine's vanishing. Do we know what these documents were? Were they Janine's personal items, or documents from the newspapers and such about her; has it been revealed? Thanks if anyone can enlighten :)

Apparently it had a ?electricity bill in it in Janine's name. The bag was handed to police & of course is no longer available.....

Yep, apparently it was found by a couple when their car had broken down etc & was handed into the cops, but has never been located or been reported in the system as........ per the family

Maybe the stalker who was leaving those notes was pinching some of her mail to find out about her, and discarded them down the drain later. Don't suppose they photographed the contents ..... err, let me guess, the photographs have gone missing alsoo_O
Thanks drsleuth :)
