"The find was made on Monday in Breddan, a rural area about 1.5 hrs southwest of Townsville.
“There has been a lot of people missing on the Flinders Highway over the years. We have to get info from police on how fresh these remains are,” private investigator Ken Gable told 7NEWS.
At least 11 people have disappeared along the highway since the 1970s.
A crime scene has been established and forensic teams are continuing to examine the area.
Detectives are waiting on DNA test results to determine whether the bones belong to anyone linked to ongoing missing persons cases."
