Ray and Jennie Kehlet - Part 1

Cold Case Western Australia. A Podcast by Western Australia Police Force.

Hi all - brand new to Websleuths - I am pretty deep into research on a long form podcast/documentary series on this case and just wanted to touch base with with you keen websleuths to see what angles you'd like to see explored if it was to be developed further. As a West Aussie this case has confounded me for years and would love to see the families get some sort of closure sooner rather than later. Thanks

Ray and Jennie Kehlet disappearance: “Someone’s got away with murder”

Ten years on, Ray's family is desperate for justice.

This is such a frustrating case because it’s obvious who did it and yet they have gotten away with murder. Imo
Yes it is so frustrating for the family when they know who did it, wish the police could lean on the number one suspect a bit harder.
Even if he would say when Jennie is buried, it would be better than not knowing.

Cant remember if it was posted previously but Rays brother has a blog about the case and a Facebook page of the same name " The Man In The Hole ".
The blog is well worth the read.

Ray posted a couple of times on this thread after the inquest.
I think this links to the first time.

Hi all,
I am Ray Kehlet’s youngest brother.
If you would like to follow the investigation from the family’s perspective, please see the link below. Please subscribe to the substack newsletter to receive further updates.
And, PLEASE SHARE. Share it here, on email, social media, anywhere you can. We need to keep their case in the forefront of the minds of those in the vocations of dispensing justice, so that Ray and Jennie's murders are accounted for, and so Jennie can be found.
Cheers,
Dave

Thanks for sharing - if everyone could share this project far and wide and subscribe to YouTube and Spotify and apple channels would appreciate!!!

A copy and paste from Rays brother here about a new podcast and doco project he is working on - first episode out next month!

Hi everyone,

Some big news — and I’d really, really appreciate it if all of you following the ‘Man in the Hole’ page could take five minutes to help make a difference and help shine a light on Ray and Jennie’s case.

As many of you know, I’ve spent the past several years doing everything I can to stop Ray and Jennie’s case from fading away. That’s included, somewhat reluctantly, speaking to a lot of media outlets to keep the story alive. Those one-off stories have been powerful and helped keep the momentum going — but I’ve long felt this case needs a deeper, longer-form approach to truly lay everything out.

So… over the past few months, I’ve been working closely with a documentary/podcast producer to create something that will, in time, tell the full story — what happened out there, what we know, what still doesn’t add up, and the lasting impact on everyone involved.

The podcast is called ‘Some Kind of Closure’.

The first episodes are still a couple of months away, but the official trailer is now live on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. The goal is simple: to tell this story properly, with care and detail highlighting each key element in detail— but it’s a massive job.

If you’ve followed this page or this case, I’d be really grateful if you could:
✅
Follow or subscribe to the podcast
✅
Rate and review the trailer — it helps more than you’d think
✅
Share it with everyone on your Facebook/instagram social media feeds (this would really help)

In the meantime, we’ll also be releasing some short video teasers here featuring interviews with family, yours truly, Rick, professional prospectors, and locals who’ve shared their thoughts and memories and theories about the case.

Longer versions of these interviews will be made available exclusively to supporters on our Patreon page — so if you want deeper insight into the conversations behind the scenes, that’s the place to go:

Producing this podcast takes a huge amount of time, travel, and resources. Each episode takes around a month of full-time work — researching, interviewing, scripting, editing. On top of that, the producers are also filming key interviews and on-location footage, so this becomes not just a podcast, but a hybrid documentary project — its a mammoth job. The goal at this stage is to produce a ten episode series of about 45-60 minutes in length each.

Right now, the producers have been working completely pro bono in their spare time since January (clocking in 140 hours so far!). To continue at the level this story deserves, we’re going to need support. Without it, we’ll have to scale things back significantly.

That said, this is a real opportunity for individuals or organisations who believe in this story to come on board and support the project. If you're in a position to help or contribute in a bigger way, please get in touch — we’d love to talk. Your support will help shine a light on this case in a way that hasn’t been done before.

We’re also looking for people to help behind the scenes — especially experienced researchers or voice actors for future episodes where we’ll be recreating parts of the coroner’s inquest. If that’s something you’re keen to be involved with, send me a message or drop a comment below.

This is truly a community-driven project, and we need your help to give it the reach and impact it deserves.

Even if you can’t contribute financially, just subscribing, rating, reviewing, and sharing the podcast can go a long way toward helping us reach more people and keep the pressure on.

The full story’s coming — and we’re not letting this go.
