Please bear with me, this is the first time i have attempted, my own sketch, lol.. well its more just circling something of interest.. but still;)

I'm not trying to continue this on, just wanted to try and upload a couple of pics to see if I could explain further what I was looking at. This is from the stills from the SMH. I have circled what I am looking at and will also post the pic uncircled. I do not believe this to be shadow or 'artefact' but something in AB's hand. make of it what you will. It is of course open to personal interpretation as we do all view things differently.

the second shot where I have circled is the longish black 'thing' I mentioned in a preevious post. In his hand is the other black bit. I suggested the numchucks as there could be a length of chain between these 2 black bits(on in his hand and one down beside his leg), that may not be visible via the CCTV footage. this is of course just my interpretation and others may have other view points. I will leave it there, I just wanted to post the pics to further explain what I was trying to previously.

@Unfolding Truth: you said that it doesn't really matter who is right or wrong, and I agree 100%. We're quibbling over details and possibilities, but as you quite correctly point out, the main thing is that the perpetrator is brought to justice. It's good to be able to have a discussion where people can agree to disagree like adults, though. Thank you :)

@Makara: don't know what computer you're on, but I found that examining that footage in detail via the YouTube version allows me to:

(a) pause and go as needed using the spacebar, and

(b) step forwards or backwards a frame at a time using the right and left keyboard arrows. Trying to do that using the slider at the bottom of the picture is, as you will already know, a right royal PITA ;)

I also used SnagIt to get a screen grab of a portion, but that doesn't want to work in full-screen mode. The grab can then be processed, enlarged, etc prior to saving it. It can also be annotated. Then uploading it to Photobucket will allow it to be posted here using the direct URL.

I know that you are more than familiar with most, if not all, of the above, but I thought it may come in handy for those who may not be familiar with the process. Hope it helps ;)

BBM, thank you, well said. I agree wholeheartedly. Its ok to agree to disagree. As none of us know the truth and we are all just going on possibilities and our own viewpoints.

The photo's in this article are so touching but it's the 3rd photo that really got to me, they're all looking up at Jill flying free :( lots of tears. What a brave family. :rose:

I was just about to post that particular photo. Her daddy looks bereft. I haven't shed a tear until I saw this one. Poor poor man. Still got a lump in my throat just thinking about him. The horror of the event hasn't moved me in the way the farewell has.....this makes it real. Sad.

BBM.

Doc, what do you mean by what computer I'm on? I'm on my own computer, it's just a computer. :waitasec: I personally prefer to use the slider, pain though it is.

You don't need any special program to grab screen captures. Your keyboard has a printscreen button (up the top between the alpha and numeric keys). Just press the printscreen button when you want to capture something on a webpage etc. You can then paste that image into any image editing software including MS Word. You also don't need to upload to Photobucket. You can add your image as an attachment directly from your computer. Just click on the little paperclip icon at the top of your message box. If you can't see it, click on the Advanced option at the bottom of your message box.

Back on topic for me.

I agree and the address of the funeral should not have been published when he asked for privacy.... very poor form.

Like getting the fox to mind the hen-house.

I have looked and cant see what he is holding, if indeed he is holding something. Is it possible that he only had his phone in his hand?

Also, the fact that he confessed so quickly, makes me think that perhaps the detectives got hold of his phone and perhaps saw a video/photos of the victim.

But to be honest, I dont see anything. But that can just be me.

Just a thought.

Regional Channel 9 News QLD (WIN) only had some of the funeral on it. No mention of what really happened.

Just saw vision on 7 news, Tom Meagher was as white as a sheet, he looks gutted. Releasing the 29 white doves was lovely.

That is very common, I have been to a lot of funerals for stories I have covered and there is always a police presence. In my job you can get close to people quickly, you're in their lives at the worst possible times - the police would get even closer even quicker. :)

And sometimes they attend to see who else does, as well as to pay respects. Not implying anything but isn't it pretty common in this sort of investigation?
No doubt though they would attend to pay respects, and give themselves some closure.

There really is a very special bond (in normal loving families) between father and daughter.

Maybe they thought better of it and decided to show a bit of respect on the day of her funeral.

Unfolding - thanks for going out on the limb and posting your sketch - it was incredibly useful to me. I was intrigued by the fact that AB could have been carrying some kind of weapon. Maybe something easily concealable. CCTV often only takes shots every few seconds so anyone experienced at a martial arts like AB was, would have practised loads of moves till they became faster than the eye - and indeed practised using loads of defensive weapons. IMO it would have been quite easy for AB to hide something between frames of the CCTV as he could easily hid something while in plain sight with someone. We are just lucky that we have before and afters from the CCTV!
