Well, that is interesting.

A person of interest has clammed up. Sounds like it could be Karen's husband, as the stepson is said to be cooperating with police.
And police are taking his allegations seriously, as they should. Maybe he will be quiet on social media now.

I initially thought it was the husband, too. But i don't think it is; it is the stalker who i think is living nearby in Milleara Rd.

Why do you think that? If you don't mind me asking.

Later in the article they mention that the cops interviewed the husband, then they mention that they will be focusing on Milleara Rd. Why would they focus away from the family home if the husband is the suspect? It makes more sense that a nearby stalker is the suspect and he lives in Milleara Rd, which is where the search will be focused. The article is purposefully ambiguous, though i doubt very much it is the husband. It is a nearby resident.
The article then, interestingly, mentions this: "Detectives are keen to speak to a female dog walker who said she had been accosted by a strange man along the footpath behind the Ristevski house." That would not be mentioned if the stalker theory was not a line of inquiry and if the husband was the key suspect. The stalker did it. SHOCKING!!!! We have a random perp on our hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oooh i so want the description of the man seen walking.
so im assuming the dog walker (her name was mentioned in the papers) hasnt spoken to detectives following AR coming out with his story. So if he looked familiar she would have ctcd police by now or the authorities would have already approached her and asked if he fit the description.

Yes, they are interested in speaking with the dog-walking lady about the person who harassed her twice. But the article says a person of interest has clammed up. And they haven't spoken to the harasser yet, or identified him by the sounds of things, so how could he be the person of interest who has gone silent? That's how I read it anyway. I guess time will tell.

However, I re-read an early article recently, and it did mention the police looking at a 2nd potential crime scene. It did not identify that place.

It sounds like the police have spoken to the stalker- who is the person of interest- though they have not spoken to the dog-walking lady. They want to talk to the dog-walking lady to positively identify the stalker who is the person of interest, to whom they have spoken, though he has now clammed up. It seems like they need the dog-walking lady to identify the stalker to then put heat on him.

I think she was having an affair and planned to leave her husband when her daughter turned 21. The stepson was correct. It also makes sense that she would go for a walk to 'clear her head', because she was going to her lovers house. That way, she would not drive her car. Maybe she had a female friend nearby and was sleeping with her husband, so 'going for a walk' was not odd as she would swing (no pun intended) by her friends house to visit her. Only, the visits became not about visiting her female friend, though her husband. Otherwise, going for random walks is just not the done thing.

I wonder why her lover would have killed her, if that is indeed what has happened.

It all makes sense now when the stepson says things are not as they seem. He was meaning Karen was having an affair and was planning to leave her husband. <mod snip>, this is unbelievable. Something like this has happened.

The Milleara Rd residence could be a friend of Borce's and they could have both arranged it. But i find this less plausible. I think the affair angle is the correct interpretation.

Puggle ,just type in her name in google and full herald sun article comes up

I think she was having an affair and her lover killed her for some reason.

I think the stalker theory is a red herring.

The argument that Borce and his wife had could have been about her affair, and/or about the sexual molestation allegations against Rickard. <mod snip>

I suspect Karen was having an affair and her lover killed her.

I think the whole stalker angle is a red herring. The Herald Sun is just throwing it out there to cover all bases. I could be wrong, however, and maybe she did walk around the streets and got dragged into a house and raped and killed. **** ME!!!!!! This is a Jill Meagher all over again.

But i think she had a lover nearby.

The police will be running an information caravan and be putting up posters in the area today, they will be doorknocking residents, they will be concentrating on the area in and around Milleara Rd, close to the Ristevski family home.
it says they spoke to the husband two weeks ago, the stepson recently. The stepson is cooperating.
A suspect has now suddenly met them with a wall of silence.

I don't read that they have another suspect from the article, but ScottKam does. I guess time will tell. :dunno:

The rest of it is old stuff.

It has also occured to me that they have a nearby rental property, to which Karen would go to clear her head. Maybe it was vacant, unoccupied currently as they were renovating it to sell it or looking for new tenants. So, Karen would go there to clear her mind. That is the 'second site' we heard about but which was never covered in any detail whatsoever. Also, that second property could be the site of significance in Milleara Rd.

If Borce was to have killed her, then he could have done it there and driven her off somewhere else. The police coudl be door-knocking to ask for witnesses to see if they saw Borce there on the day. I just don't think this has happened; i don't think Borce is the person of interest they are referring to in the paper; i think it is someone else in Milleara Rd, either Karen's lover or a stalker who lives in the street.

I seem to have kind of jumped the gun on the lover theory, though there is information to suggest it, as it is odd for a woman just to pick up her handbag and "go for a walk", but it is not odd if she has a friend in a nearby street which she visits for a coffee. In this case i am further speculating it is her lover. Possibly this is going a bit far. I think i just got over-energised in my speculation.

Thank you SouthAussie...........yeah...not feeling another suspect going by what you have written..actually sounds like hubby has clammed up....

The interesting part is about Millera Road though......but it has me thinking they are hoping someone that travels along there may have seen something.......if you were coming from Karens house it is the first main road to go to anywhere you would want to get too.....so makes sense to set up enquiry caravan there..

All in all....it actually leaves me flat...and thinking that hubby does maybe have something to do with her dissaperance. ......as he is the only person I can see clamming up........stepson...well...we already know likes to talk.

If she went to visit her lover, in the nearby street of Milleara Rd, then she would have her phone off, lest her husband calls mid hanky panky. Her lover kills her, then her phone remains off. Her phone being off is definitely an alarm bell.

She could have switched it off as Borce would have contacted her on it after the fight, and she didn't want calls on it.

Then a stalker could have killed her.

It is either a stalker or her lover; though it is not the husband or stepson.

I think the random stranger hassling the dog-walking lady is a furphy.

Her lover is most likely the killer and the one who has clammed up. I wonder why he did it.

I disagree that it is Borce who is not cooperating.

Or is it Borce's brother who might live nearby who is not cooperating? That would be horrible.

Jesus!

Upon a second reading of the article, i am CONVINCED it is the husband. They mention the son is cooperating, but they do not mention the same of the husband, which they surely would have, had he been cooperating. At first i thought it was just the Herald Sun building suspense; but it is most certainly not. The husband killed his wife and the police need more evidence to convict him, otherwise it is a circumstantial case and a gamble at court in attempting to gain a conviction.

I'm going to chill out now and pause my speculations as i've just done the full 360 and ended up right where i started. sheesh!

The husband murdered the wife, and the nearby Milleara Rd has some significance. I wonder what. I wonder if they own a second property there. I wonder where he disposed of Karen. <mod snip>
