My gut says Mr Borce Teflon killed Karen but again today I wonder if Karen had the same fate as Kerry Whelan who was abducted by a disgruntled ex-employee who blackmailed her husband for $1mil. What if someone thought Karen was worth a lot of money, abducted her thinking this and all went so terribly wrong.

Kerry Whelan's body was never found.

Bernie Whelan had never handled so much cash - huge wads of $100 notes tied with rubber bands and packed into calico bank bags. It was the million-dollar ransom for the life of his beloved wife, Kerry, kidnapped from Parramatta's Parkroyal Hotel four days earlier.

"Follow all instructions or your wife will die," read the typed letter, which turned up in the mailbox at Bernie's Kurrajong home in Sydney's north-west on May 7, 1997, just 24 hours after Kerry went missing. Bernie followed the orders in the ransom note - all except the demand he not contact the police.

http://www.smh.com.au/national/the-cruellest-of-crimes-20090227-8k93.html

When Bernie did make an appeal
"Kerry, if you can hear what I'm saying, I want you to know that we all love you and we will do anything to get you back, but most of all, don't give up." Bernie stared into the camera, his lip quivering.

It seems a rather unusual action to log into your mothers facebook page and ask have friends seen her. If a ransom letter had been received. imo

'Twas in the early stages that I was tarred and feathered for suggesting Ol' Borcey and Sarah. He rang loud memories of Baden-Clay.

Let's turn the tables.

Bernie Whelan was pleading down the cameras & radio nearly every day, he took every opportunity of getting his wife back, even down to packing that $1mil into those calico bank bags...he was willing to go the full mile, even against police instructions! Bernie was accused too...that didn't stop him!

When princess-pie-Teflon-coated Borcey had every opportunity of pleading for his wife's safe return, diddums got all defensive and literally closed the gate. Just thinking of his antics makes me spew. :D

Honestly??
I waiting for that nudie run for sure. :behindbar

Wouldn't there be evidence of Borce trying to scrounge up the ransom money, tgy? Borce is/was an Uber driver, wouldn't that exclude them being considered millionaires worth kidnap and ransom?
What about the phones and the petrol gauge excuse? Why would he still declare he hasn't got financial problems if his wife died because of their supposed wealth? Wouldn't he worry about his daughter being targeted?

Borce didn't alert the police Karen was kidnapped nor does he seemed concerned about catching Karen's killer, he's poles apart from Kerry's husband, imo.

He sure fixed that petrol gauge tho!

I'd love to know if there is another woman.

OR

Karen was ending their relationship.

Separation Assault.
The most violent time in an abusive relationship is the minute the woman leaves, or tries to leave. In fact, in domestic violence cases, more than 70 percent of injuries and murders happen after the victim leaves. This phenomenon is known as separation assault.

Yes Prime they are poles apart.
It's frustrating he's still walking free.
Justice for Karen is long overdue.

This silience about the case is comforting. ...... IMO

Tick tock ..... players...

I think the complex nature of multiple persons being involved. .....from murder...to coverup has made this case a nightmare for police to put all the peices together....to be able to cross all the "i"s and cross the "t"s .....

But it's coming.....

Love how you put things... very entertaining.... nudie run.... oh my eyes my eyes.... they are burning!
Agree - the antics of Mr Teflon is intriguing.... I know i would be all over the media like a rash if it were my beloved mother going missing...

Money - money drives so many crimes. I still feel that this one is 100% money related. Not sure if there is a 3rd party or not.... I can't figure that one out just yet...

One thing I keep thinking of is - If Karen had the days takings of $850 in her bag - that business was in trouble.
Take into account - rent in a shopping centre, wages, utilities, creditors etc etc.... that business was in big trouble.
And yes - there is something really suss about the behaviours. if you were not guilty - you would be out there doing everything in your possible nature to prove it.
I really hope Mr Scan Pan is enjoying his days - cause I pray for Karen's sake that those days are numbered....

And as for the fuel gauge.... ppphhhfffttttttt what a load of BS....
Calder is a pretty good road - and hoping a bumpy ride fixes a fuel gauge is not a logical thinking excuse. It if it were my Merc - and the fuel gauge was faulty - I would go to a mechanic.... not take it for a drive - especially whilst my beloved wife is missing.....
What did he wake up and say ' hmmm my beautiful beloved wife and mother of my daughter is missing.... but gee I think the fuel gauge is not working in her Merc. I will take it for a drive to see if I can fix it. Yes - she will be so happy when she comes home to know that whilst missing - I fixed her car. What a wonderful husband I am' ..... I would divorce my hubby if he did that whilst I was missing! But then again - B knew she wasn't coming home.... (IMO)

Not once travelling the Calder have I had anything change in my car....

Mr Scan Pan - keep frying those eggs for breakfast - cause your porridge is being kept warm with your orange jumpsuit....

Oh... and I am getting sooooo impatient over this case......

I really just hope that the time is to ensure it is totally water tight

(snipped)

Karen wasn't missing at that stage. He says he went for his drive about half an hour after she walked out. I can see him doing it, partly because he liked to drive to calm down (I imagine), mostly as a passive-aggressive thing to annoy her, take her car when she was going to need it, then play innocent--he did it for her, he was being helpful!

Psychologically I can swallow it. But I don't like the fuel gauge story; that there was a problem and he fixed it by going over a bump (so don't bother checking the car; there's nothing wrong with it now). It sounded crook the first time I heard it, even before the experts started saying, not with that Mercedes, no way.

Ok - thanks for that - my mistake. I have the time line for back then a bit wrong with the car then.
I thought it was after she was missing...

Agree with you and as I stated - it sounds dodgy going for a drive over a bump to fix it. Going down his own driveway is probably more of a bump, going through a car park with speed humps etc - many more options.
Can't ignore the fact that he chose to drive a road that lead to being near her discovery.....
Yep - sounded fishy at the time and still smells fishy

Thinking of Karen....I wonder if she was poisoned.

I've been watching the old series 'Autopsy, Confessions of a Medical Examiner' featuring a forensic pathologist Michael Baden. On many occasions he's requested exhumation of bodies who he'd suspect a possible murder when the autopsy was not done thoroughly.
There are some heavy metals which remain in the organs and if not examined properly they will go unnoticed.

Example: Enter the humble maggot.
On one occasion there were no poisons or heavy metals found within the body. He requested the maggots to be blended and BINGO the maggots were full of the drug he suspected.
Hopefully we have equally brilliant forensics pathologistes here in Australia.

Anyway it's an amazing series, not for the faint hearted.

Totally get it TGY, hope I make sense after a few light refreshments this evening. From what I have read exhumation requires insurmountable evidence to provide the go ahead. Me thinks many autopsies have not been performed following cremation to no avail, in particular a good read Blood and Money Thomas Thomason (true story non fiction crime). So wish MAGGOTS had been blended along time ago. Texas Body Farm.

I'm very surprised that the shop has remained open as long as it has...perhaps the shop IS closing down AND they are not renewing the lease...
I wonder if there's much stock left?

Getting their business issues sorted...and it's time for some ARRESTS? :please:.....Get ready TGY !!!

It'll be interesting if the house will be sold to pay for that gold plated lawyer.
