I sat down to wait for an appointment today, when I saw a magazine laying open on the chair next to me. It caught my attention as it was open at an article about Karen. It is from Who magazine, dated March of this year (see photos).

"It's just heartwrenching, to see a gentle person taken away so soon" friend Danica Ezrard tells Who.

... Ristevski, a jetsetting fashion buyer who ran a Melbourne clothing boutique and had "incredible knowledge" of the industry, according to friend Elly Pearce.

"She achieved so much" says Ezrard, a milliner. "But I don't think she had much support."

As a boutique owner, "there was a lot of power behind a gentle lady" says Ezrard. "She was an elegant, amazing woman."

Celhar-Hili remembers how Ristevski was so moved by the news a former school friend had been diagnosed with cancer, she reached out to the woman by text. "She said, 'Why don't you come into the store and pick out a dress, my shout?' " recalls Celhar-Hili. "That's what Karen did. She was always positive. Sweet as pie. Probably too sweet."

"WHO Mag" have run a couple of articles about Karen. There was another one where her good friend Sharryn Celhar Hili was interviewed as well. Nothing but good words about her dear friend. This is the lady who set up a "go fund me" page for Sarah . I believe both Sarah and Celhars daughter were friends I remember reading . I find it very interesting that SR is no longer in either of their FB friends list! Something must have happened there. SR seems to be shutting everyone down who are being supportive from her mothers side it seems . What IS she hiding.
Her first Mother's Day without her mother. How tough.

Not much credibility with Who magazine... actually any magazine really... BUT... they have done more (even if some of the details are slightly altered) then what the family have done about their missing mother / wife and loved one. At least a run of a few articles keeps things in the front of minds and not bushed to the back...
Actually it appears even friends have done more.... and said more.
I too see that SR is no longer in certain FB lists.
Interesting...

I really am just a bit miffed as to why it is taking so long and why it has all gone quiet.
I know the truth will come out eventually and hopefully a good author writes a good tell all book... but the waiting for justice for Karen is so frustrating it is almost painful...

As far as I know - there still has not been an announcement as to how she died - so it appears they may be struggling to confirm that info.

Very sad. I really hope you know who doesn't get away with it.....

The entire family response to this has been odd to be frank. It is like they want to distance themselves from it.

I swung past Watergardens via Oakley this arvo. Shop is closed. Looks like Vodaphone are moving in. All quite on both fronts.

OMG that's so sad. So it's totally empty, all signage removed?
Wow it's like gone & forgotten.

Jeez there's a murderer out there free! It's sickening.

Thankyou emerates. :grouphug:

IMO BR will be arrested. It's not if it's when. We can only imagine the frustration Karens family must be going through.

I saw BR on Friday night, i believe shutting up the store, with the blonde retail assistant who works there. He appeared a bit edgy.

So from then to now it's gone. Just a memory of Karen's life long hard work and dreams. Like Karen? A burst balloon, sweep up the remnants and its ...gone.
Wow! What sadness.
C'mon coppers, do something, find something to put the arrogant murderer away behind bars.
It's now time.

I don't think it's to be expected that the family should keep open a business that's losing money. We believe it was struggling while Karen was alive (although it's also possible it was doing well, but not well enough to meet external extravagances); it must surely be doing worse without Karen's hard work.

It is sad, but also, Karen was more than her shop, and those who knew her will have no trouble remembering her, if they want to.

Agree - the business was in trouble - so why keep it going - but its sad.
Its sad that Karen's life has gone, Karen's interest has been closed and nothing but a murderer is left.

Surely something has to happen soon...

Indeed all signage removed, it was quite some time since I last visited. One person in particular I asked for directions, said she didn't even what to talk to me about there whereabouts......go figure.

It seems rather strange to keep the business going for almost a year after Karen's disappearance (murder) if it was already losing money before then.

Maybe that's what the fight was about.
'Have a sale and close the bloody shop 'cause it's killing us'!

'NO'!

Ah well he eventually got his way, if that was the case.

Going forward how does one survive in these circumstances? Retail outlet has shutdown. Does SR have academic fallback qualifications? Under the circumstances can BR still operate as an Uber driver? As an honest hard working honest individual like most, call me stupid how do they stay afloat?

I wonder if the lease was up? I wonder also if BR (like Chardon) has been given the heads up and been advised to get his affairs in order. Can only hope for an arrest soon.

I really didn't think a murder would be given that opportunity & grace. You mentioned Chardon - so you could be right Seek.
Good thinking.

We may not know how they are keeping the house and the cars and whatever lifestyle they hold onto. But I would think the police would have a pretty good idea. And will still be monitoring them all closely.

No idea what BR was up to but it appears SR is at uni.

Fast approaching a year, at least there should be some media coverage to apply some pressure.

If that was the case why not have a sale within the first couple of months and close the store. It seems odd to pay almost another years rent plus wages & utilities if things were that bad. No point dragging it in for so long, cut your losses sooner rather than later.

If I recall there a family trust, maybe that's what's keeping them afloat. Although the cynic in me thinks it's probably more likely they were using Karen's inheritance to begin with.

Well if the stuff the Australian dragged up is any indication their financial management left a lot to be desired going back some ways now. From pecan nuts to jeans and fancy frocks, none of it was successful.
