Wow ... they are really letting some info out now!

And I'm with you, whose iPad is it??

Plus they are not letting go of those vehicles that were spotted in front of the Merc on CCTV. Do they want to know exactly who was in those vehicles as they may have been participants, or do they want to know if those vehicles saw the driver of the Merc ... or both?

I betcha that white ute towing that backhoe got their attention!
I immediately thought that would've looked suspicious.

Thankx sweet soso. Does it say if they were fairly recent searches & within the last couple of years? This in itself is HUGE!

Cracking yarn by @davidhurleyHS. Appears cops could be closing in on Karen's killer:

Whoever killed Karen would want to be lapping up their last little bit of freedom. Doesn't look like they've got long left.

No it doesn't but the time of those searches will be very interesting.

An iPad seized from the Melbourne home of murdered mother Karen Ristevski contains 'suspicious' Google search history about how police detect blood.
Other strange searches found on the device include how police trace phones and how to delete mobile phone data, the Herald Sun reports.
Detectives are now closing in on the 47-year-old's murderer and have revealed the iPad history was discovered when the Ristevski family's Avondale Height's home was swept for clues after her disappearance last year.

The Merc's boot is sure big enough.

The Herald Sun can also reveal a device sent by detectives to a specialist in the United States last year was a GPS navigator belonging to the *Ristevski family.
Investigators hoped the US expert could pull data from the device to shine a light on the movements of Ms Ristevski’s black Mercedes-Benz SLK coupe on June 29 last year, the day she vanished...

A cyclist (pictured) discovered Ms Ristevski's body after he followed a foul smell to her resting place

I am a bit confused by the cyclist.

Resident Ian Flannery noticed a rancid smell in bushland off Loch Rd about six to eight months ago.

“Every time I’d come down with the dogs, one of the dogs would actually stop in this position most of the time,” he said.
“I could smell a pretty pungent, arid sort of smell, but I just put it down to a kangaroo carcass. But I would walk across here and wouldn’t see anything.”

His car may have been fitted with a tracking device too, if they have strong suspicions of his involvement .

After seeing the pics of Vasko in the forest, I thought more about your comment, moreinfo. I wonder if Ch9 were 'informed' that Vasko was in that area at that time.

It seems to me that Tim Day is employing a refreshing new mode of operation in this case, and utilising the media to assist in his quest to put Karen's murderer in front of the court. Perhaps he is not intimidated by Borce's high-flying criminal lawyer?

A 2004 Merc might have a GPS but it's doubtful it'd have tracking on it.

Unless a destination was punched in, that would be in its memory.

I have been reading up on this subject. Info from as far back as 2010 says that GPS frequently have a 'track log' which shows time and date travelled, plus speed and other data. It can show time spent at a particular location. The info I read also says that this type of info has been subpoenaed in numerous (US) cases.

Even if the track log is deleted, there will be a 'ghost memory' (similar to what investigators look for on a computer which has had its files deleted).

So, I am hoping that the Merc, being a more expensive quality car, may have had an expensive quality GPS system.

Here is one of the forum discussions about it that I have been reading, for reference purposes.

In moccasins?
I saw the teaser on nine9. Vasco was walking away shaking his head with no comment as he entered his 4x4.

It comes as a Channel Nine news crew spotted Vasko Ristevski - the brother of Ms Ristevski's husband, Borce - lurking near the area her body was found wedged between logs at Mount Macedon, 65 km northwest of Melbourne.
In shocking Nine News footage, Vasko was filmed heading back towards his truck which was parked in the isolated bushland as journalist Martin King asked: 'Can you tell us what you're doing here?'

Surely the word count isn't that limited! Hubby?! Very affectionate way of describing a suspected murderer.

From this review, it seems Karen's car would have Satellite Navigation.

http://www.motoring.com.au/mercedes-benz-slk-class-2004-4824/

Satnav systems operate independently of any telephonic or internet reception, though these technologies can enhance the usefulness of the positioning information generated.

I wouldn't have thought models earlier that 2008 would've had this. But LOOK!
I'm amazed.

i pulled up the passenger side carpet and removed the rear air vent in my 2003 clk and found a tracking device. i would like to know if others found tracking devices in their mercs and the location. all i did was pull up on the carpet and seen a wire that didn't look factory i pulled up the plastic air vent and under that their was a tracking device installed with a backup battery i bet this is the standard location to install a tracking device in benzes. check it out and let us know your results. pic of the device is attached

Wow ... even better!!!

So all they probably need to do is 100% place the murderer in that car, at that time.

I say, put the murderer in front of a jury. Show that everyone else who may have had access to the Merc was somewhere else at that time. Show the person who had no provable alibi for that time, who may have turned their phone off. Process of elimination. The jury will see common sense, with no reasonable doubt.

It is not as if Borce could have taken the car for a fuel-gauge-fixing ride, brought it back home, then a mystery mugger took the car - using Karen's keys, disposed of Karen, then returned the car back to the house.

My feeling is, they've got enough evidence to pin BR, but they need more to be able to prove the involvement of others. It's just a waiting game now for us sleuthers now, me thinks.

You know, Vasko could have been out there many times. And the police said to themselves 'next time he is out there let's inform ACA so they can get some footage of him. Give ACA the heads-up that this is what we will do'.

Vasko seems, to me, to be an anxious clean-up man. Seen at the burned-out building, where evidence was found by police. Now seen at the forest location, where Karen was dumped.

Does he fret and worry that some trace of the murderer/disposer(s) has been left behind? Does he relentlessly have to check that some evidence is still buried/concealed in its hiding spot? Is he always trying to gauge how far along police are in their investigation, how much they have discovered? (Seeing that Borce and Sarah have cut off all police communication and would have no idea what is going on.)

This seems very possible. I'm sure that LE are using the media to flush out the killer & accomplices.

Dr Ferguson pointed to the Allison Baden-Clay case in 2012.
The forensic pathologist could not say for sure how Mrs Baden-Clay died because of the decomposition of her body, found on a creek bank in Brisbane's west 10 days after she was reported missing
1487836621675.jpg
The site in Macedon Regional Park where Karen Ristevski's remains were found on Monday.

Her husband Gerard Baden-Clay was still charged and convicted of murder.

"You can move forward with a criminal trial without proving a manner or cause of death," Dr Ferguson said.

Critical to the Ristevski case will be whether her body was concealed, Dr Ferguson said.

"That could become really important. If the body is concealed, it's a pretty big problem for someone," she said.
"[Police will be] also be looking for a primary crime scene.
"If that is the dumping site [in Mount Macedon], if they can find somewhere that's associated with her through blood stain patterns or DNA evidence of a clean-up of blood than that bodes well for homicide.
"It's about the body on one hand, but the circumstances are just as important."
