Dr Ferguson pointed to the Allison Baden-Clay case in 2012.
The forensic pathologist could not say for sure how Mrs Baden-Clay died because of the decomposition of her body, found on a creek bank in Brisbane's west 10 days after she was reported missing

The site in Macedon Regional Park where Karen Ristevski's remains were found on Monday.

Her husband Gerard Baden-Clay was still charged and convicted of murder.

"You can move forward with a criminal trial without proving a manner or cause of death," Dr Ferguson said.

Critical to the Ristevski case will be whether her body was concealed, Dr Ferguson said.

"That could become really important. If the body is concealed, it's a pretty big problem for someone," she said.
"[Police will be] also be looking for a primary crime scene.
"If that is the dumping site [in Mount Macedon], if they can find somewhere that's associated with her through blood stain patterns or DNA evidence of a clean-up of blood than that bodes well for homicide.
"It's about the body on one hand, but the circumstances are just as important."

Evidence, say.... of someone repeatedly visiting the burial site? [emoji19]

channel 9 have spent all there funds on Schapelle Corby

and Channel 9 as well as all the media missed out on a supposedly planned interview with Schapelle arriving home because "her team" were too smart... as Schapelle switched planes at the last minute to throw them all off. :shame: :floorlaugh:

Oh what a circus it turned out to be...
How embarrassing...well done Team Corby!

I'm thinking Vasco is the 'ideas man' of the family. The older brother, the head bully honcho with many failed ideas and schemes. I think Borce followed Vasco's hair brained schemes including the pressure over money that ended in Karen's death.
Maybe he's not the murderer but he defenitely involved somewhat and knew what happened very soon after....at the very least.

MISSING Melbourne woman Karen Ristevski was not murdered by her husband and is in hiding overseas, her brother-in-law has claimed.

Vasko Ristevski, 56, belie*ves the missing mother is still alive and most likely living in China or the US, having fled overseas on a false passport.
Mrs Ristevski, 47, was last seen leaving her Avondale Heights home on June 29 to clear her head after a row with husband Borce, 52, over money.

VASKO RISTEVSKI. AGE 57 BORN Macedonia. Lives in Hoppers Crossing with his wife and adult children.

Any calls to Vasco that day would be gold.

“This is due to the physical exertion required to carry or drag a body. (According to reports) the body was found about 50 metres from the nearest parking opportunity.

“If this distance is correct then it is significant as it would require a strong person to carry the body that far; or perhaps two people were involved in the disposal. More so if there was scrub or difficult terrain involved.
“The location of the two logs between which the body was found is also significant. If these logs are not visible from the parking location then it is highly suggestive of the offender having previous knowledge of that concealment site, ie he had been there before.
“If it is visible from the parking site then it is less suggestive of prior knowledge. Having said that, depending on how accessible and visible that parking site is from the usual route in/out would influence prior knowledge of the disposal site.
“Basically, the harder it is to find that site, the more likely the offender had previous knowledge of it.”

It is also possible that Borce did this all by himself … an adrenaline-fuelled person can achieve a lot more than the average person.
Then Vasko has spent his time - since that day - worrying and fretting (and checking) in case little bro Borce has screwed up and left some traces behind.

Either way, they can both worry a lot now. They now know that police have …

- CCTV at all of the crucial times
- Phone pings at relevant times
- Evidence from around the burned-out building
- Forensic evidence from Karen’s remains and disposal site
- Forensic evidence from Karen’s car
- Forensic evidence from the shovel
- Evidence from Uber of Borce’s availability/non-availability
- Witness statements regarding Karen’s last contact (with anyone else)
- Evidence of the whereabouts of all family members on and around the time of Karen’s disappearance
- Evidence of the whereabouts of almost every other Merc like Karen’s on that day
- Unusual, relevant Google searches on a family iPad
- Potential witnesses regarding persons seen around Karen’s disposal site
- Potential blood evidence (google searches)
- Potential GPS ‘ghost’ or real data
- Potential financial motive
- Potential ‘wife is going to leave him now Sarah is 21’ motive
- The unusual stance of close family clamming up and not assisting police

And that is what we know about. Can you imagine all the evidence we don’t know about?

"An iPad seized from the Avondale Heights home of Melbourne mother Karen Ristevski reportedly had evidence of a Google search on how to detect traces of blood.

There was also search history on how to erase mobile phone data"......,

Interesting how we haven't been told "who" the iPad belongs to. If it was Borces, why not just say it. It wouldn't surprise us.
Something makes me lean onwards the iPad being owned by Sarah rather than Borce. I don't see Borce owning an iPad and the search criteria sounds more like words SR would type in and not her daddy. Just my take on it.

Yes, I tend to agree. Sarah's generation are far more likely to turn to Google for answers to those questions.
(Unless you are WS members like us, of course :D )

Have to agree SA. I have so much wanted for her not to be involved, mainly because I'd hate to think that Karen was betrayed by a daughter whom she loved, however the longer it goes on the more it seems that she definitely was. :(

I have completely lost my patience with the girl. Who knows their mother has been murdered, and clams up refusing to help police??!!
I think it is disgusting.

Yeah, yeah, she loves her dad. But seriously, even little kids who love their father have assisted police in the investigation of their mother's alleged murderer, their suspect!

It is not good enough. Not nearly.

Yep,
Based on the English conversations we have heard from him, he's more of a "how to get "rid" of history on my phone" type..

Id be more interested in the time thosr searches took place rather than who it belongs to. Even if the ipad is sarahs, everyone in the family might regularly use it. In our house we only have one 'family' tablet.

Also, what's with VRs moccasins? Not exactly bushwalking footwear. Maybe the cracks are really forming now and there's panic/obsessive checking and worrying.

It's a bit unfortunate to taint Karen's thread by referring to and praising a convicted drug smuggler. IMO

His 4x4 is black.
He looks like a deer in the headlights. Sprung and embarrassed! :silly:

The TV news crew were with former homicide detective Charlie Bezzina when they spotted Vasko and had been following the story at the time.

Certainly walking around like he's been there a few times, and to "drive" into the bush, looks like he knows his way and that there's enough room to take car in and out with ease. .

Do moccasins have flat soles? Maybe he didn't want to leave a distinctive sole imprint?

It was also said that Sarah and Karen had not been getting on in the weeks leading up to the event.

I know lots of Europeans that wear these type of moccasins in winter if they are just hanging out if going to the local shops etc. may have looked more suspicious to his wife if he were to change his shoes maybe depending on where he told her he was going.
Wonder if the reporters had a good peek in his car and saw anything. Hmmm he could have had a shovel, pair of gumboots and was interrupted.

Yes I remember that soso. Can you remember who it was that said it? TIA.

Im from a European background (not same as vr), and yes lots of moccasin wearing but only in informal situations like visiting friends/family or going to the milkbar. So do agree with you, but i read this as a 'in the moment' visit and think they are all panicking. Maybe revisiting to get a story straight about the scene.
