It was before, doesn't mean he hadn't heard about it though.

Wouldn't surprise me if ACA contacted whoever they could reach of the Ristevski family to see if they wanted to comment in/on their one-year anniversary show.

Oh I kind of think it implies he did know. Who would have guessed that Charlie would be up at the disposal site and out pops Uncle Vic.
I do not think Vic looked to stunned in the promo.
imo

Wonder if the police tipped off aca about vr being at mt macedon. Maybe to put some extra pressure on him and really bring attention to the story

I am half expecting another surprise guest.

Could it be possible the first intention was to burn Karen in her car?
But how would the murderer get back home and he couldn't risk calling anyone for a ride as the phones would be tracked.
Also could it be possible the intention was to burn Karen like Stephanie Scott as she was covered with branches. Had it been raining and the branches were too wet to catch on without an accelerant? Could Karen's murderer been aware of cameras not to pull into a servo for petrol & a lighter?

So many criminals have learnt from the mistakes of the evil Adrian Bailey and Vincent Stanford.

That was my initial thought - police had eyes/digital surveillance on Vasko & tipped of ACA that he was at the Mt Macedon site.

Then I read that Charlie Bezzina was with ACA when they ran into Vasko. This seems like something ACA had planned in advance(and they do claim they were there as part of filming an update for the 1yr anniversary of Karen's disappearance) rather than "Quick! Get to Mt Macedon, Vasko's there".

I have little faith in ACA being up front and open, but Charlie Bezzina's presence really does persuade me that they didn't head up there suddenly on the spur of the moment after a tipoff.

Furthermore, if police surveillance was what uncovered Vasko's visit to the site, surely they would deploy police & not the media, in the hopes of uncovering further evidence which could've been lost if Vasko was confronted instead by the media and allowed to scuttle away.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you couldn't burn leather. It was an expensive leather coach handbag and wallet that have disappeared .

Sarah going OS maybe to avoid Melbourne's cold weather.
It certainly affects me.
The cold does affect our moods, in many cases (Seasonal Affective Disorder and its many varieties).
They are a family, perhaps supporting one another through everything.
We all do this 'in our own ways': parents, siblings, in laws.

Interesting thoughts tmar. It's the same time of year Karen went missing and Sarah was here in Aus then.
Could winter Seasonal Affective Disorders actually play a part in a murder if the cold affected someone that much? Interesting thoughts just don't tell BR's silks they might use it.

Also Blackhill rd is not a main road , so why would you know jacks bar existed and had closed down . And looking at the Google map, if you you follow the road it's not far from a house which looks like it's been lived in as there are cars and a disposal truck (don't know how old image is)

Does anyone know if Vasko still works?
Seems like he has lots of time up his sleeve visiting rural areas with his moccasins .

Interesting thoughts indeed, but my reading into seasonal affective disorder seems to indicate that the key time for a rise in suicides and acute episodes of mental ill health is springtime, not winter.

It could be claimed that overall trends aside, individual people are affected in different seasons, but that would render seasonal affective disorder a potential defence at any time of year.

Leather will definitely burn. It won't melt/burn at the touch of a lit cigarette the way fake leather often will (hence some people saying 'fake leather burns, real leather doesn't), but it isn't difficult to ignite, and throwing a leather handbag onto a small fire will destroy it in short order.

Here is a study into the flammability of leather in car interiors http://www.leathermag.com/features/featureflammability-and-flame-retardancy-of-leather/

If you google for "is leather flammable" you can also find several YouTube videos demonstrating that it certainly is.

It takes a little longer to ignite than most synthetics & is prone to smouldering slowly if the source of ignition is very small, but it burns well.

Still trying to find out if leather burns, also if her Wallet was in there you,d think there would be at least be a coin or something so that wouldn't burn , any plastics like cards would melt too. How long would you have to stand near bag to make sure it all burnt away. You would probably end up smelling like smoke, maybe your car and clothes would smell like smoke too.
So, if it wasn't burnt, where has it been left , where is it hiding?

Well actually on second thoughts BR probably emptied the coins from the wallet too while he was taking out the $850

Oh thanks for that. Wonder if any if Borces clothes were tossed away from the smell or if the smells penetrated into the car/house. I know if I've been near a fire, or smoker my clothes and body end up smelling of smoke and it lingers in confined spaces too. So if it was on BRs clothes and washing wasn't done straight away you would be able to smell it around the laundry or wherever he left those clothes .

It burns, as per my post above (I guess we were both posting at the same time & you hadn't seen it yet).

If you lit a small fire of sticks, like a small campfire, you could burn away that purse and wallet in a matter of a few minutes. Plastic cards would melt & then burn away to ash.

Anybody nearby would smell of smoke until they changed clothes and showered.

Not only coins would survive, though - any metal buckles, press-stud closures, logos or similar would survive the fire. Metal logos if made of cheap cast alloys would be prone to melting, however.

Another easy way to dispose of a handbag and wallet would be putting the wallet in the handbag, along with a rock & throwing it into a body of water. I don't see somebody taking the time to light a fire in broad daylight, when smoke will be easily visible & burning the bag as likely, either, but I certainly could be wrong - that's just a gut feeling.

I'd be interested to know what phone Karen had, it's size & whether it's easily fit into her pockets of her clothes on the day she went missing. A large phone and or small/no pockets would suggest her phone was in her handbag & if so, I think it's safe to say her handbag made it past Blackhill Rd, as it pinged in Gisbourne, closer to Mt Macedon.

Yes, that's also interesting about bag being tossed in water, which is why those dams in toolern vale may have been searched.
I would think KR had the latest phone , seeing as she travelled overseas quite often also I'm assuming her phone would be a business phone so they tend to be upgraded quite often too .
If KR was murdered at home I'd assume her phone wouldn't be on her or in her bag but rather lying on a bench or table . So maybe the phone travelled separately in the Merc, possibly in BR pocket or in the Mercs centre console.

Here you go.
The head on shot in the video.
I assume the same one or maybe one of many, the police tech experts had.

Good luck.
Let us know how you go.:)

I was taking several experimental screenshots of the running vid and somehow the pics are (kinda) clearer when they are thumbnails. It's only on my iPad, don't zoom but look at the 'compressed' pics. It's defenitely a lone person with short gray hair.

FFS now the bloody iPad won't upload the photos. Frizby time again grrrrr!!!!
