Police are also still working through calls from the public after a call for information in June for drivers of cars seen near a black Mercedes spotted by CCTV at a railway station in Diggers Rest.

I'm noticing this disclaimer whenever BR is mentioned. (Nobody wants to be sued).
Fairfax Media is not suggesting he was involved in Ms Ristevski's disappearance.

Anyone who may have been in the Mount Macedon areas, particularly the Macedon Regional Park, the Mount Macedon Golf Club, Childers Road, Mount Macedon Road, Waterfalls Road and Salisbury Rad and who may have seen a black Mercedes Benz SLK coupe is being urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

I did a Instant Google map drive down Childers, Mt Masedon & Waterfall roads and saw many overgrown water culverts. I hope these have been checked, remembering Daniel Morcombe's clothes were found in one of these and the amount of time Khandlayce Pearce laid unnoticed in a suitcase along the side of a road

Police would not say whether the witness could describe the man. But Det Insp Day said the importance of the sighting, 1.5km from where the body was found, could not be overstated.
“Over the last week we’ve spoken with a witness who’s seen a black Mercedes at this location on Childers Rd, facing the wrong way,” he said.
Some reports refer to car near intersection. If the quote from Tim Day has been accurately reported, I'd love to know which (wrong) way the parked car was facing. The car being actually in Childers Road is interesting, as there are 2 wide verges either side of that road. Plenty of room to pull over and stop for a break 'to admire the scenery.'

I'm wondering if the witness had to actually drive around the merc as it was on the wrong side of the road. I'd certainly remember having to do that. Enough time to check out the inconsiderate, entitled guy standing beside the Merc!

“I thought it was rather strange ... you’d go down there in a 4WD, you wouldn’t go down there in a car and you certainly wouldn’t go down in a truck."

Dean is right about this. The part where Salisbury and Loch join is not sports car material...
odd area for 2 men looking the resemblance of B and V to be bogged in a van.

These two blokes are looking like absolute idiots!!
No wonder their businesses were always on skid row.

The unsuitable car for carrying a body or off-bitumen driving suggests to me the murder occurred after they left the house, together for another purpose. Also supporting this in my mind is that at some point Borce knew well enough to turn off his phone, but was not worried about it beforehand. I want to know what time Karen was due at Bella Bleu

and what time the staff member phoned Borce, and did she call Karen first and at what time?

Karen Ristevski ‘clue’ has police out in force

paraphrased.

Karens aunt is convinced police will home in on the killer.
Aunt P said because Karens killer had not turned themselves in, the distress has been exacerbated.

Tim Day confirmed a month ago Borce was a suspect but has refused to say if there are others.

Police were aware of the claim of the sighting before Karen was found. Tim Day said police could make contact with the witness only this week.

A Merc in this area is not uncommon at all. Some of the houses further up the hill are worth 5 - 15 million. I see Mercs around here all the time.... (although not exactly matching Karens...)
So seeing a Merc in normal circumstances - I doubt anyone would notice it however - there must have been something odd about this particular Merc that 'Dean' saw. So I am thinking - wrong side of the road / pointing the wrong direction etc... There must be some reason as to someone noticed it and made a mental note of it resulting in a report.

I can't wait till the book eventually comes out.....
So many questions to be answered

I think the conditions that the witness also saw the car might give away more clues. Was it a neighbour - maybe the noticed him there on the way to the shops and back and thought it was odd he was there for so long. Or was it someone driving past. I wonder why the police haven't revealed how he was seen - maybe to make br worry they saw more than they did?

I really don't understand why it's taking so long for arrests to be made.
Reminds me of when we took our kids on holidays "Are we there yet?"

However, if no arrests are made soon, the Bro's BR and VR might decide to go on a slow boat to China to try to sell pecan nuts again.

The ant's nest is still rockin' and rollin'. I don't think he's involved in Karen's death, but who knows with this family eh? :silenced:

Tim Day seemed surprisingly bullish and confident about solving this case, as he did in his previous presser. I have never seen a police spokesman be so confident.

I agree Cads. Apart from parking on the wrong side of the road, there must have been something else that made it stand out. Did you see the search today?? Great to have you on the ground.

It looks like a seal haha, but you've got me thinking, I wonder if he chucked her phone up a tree!!!

It kinda looks like a faded brown paper bag....what's in it? A gold Leather bag could fade to the same colour IMO.

Tim Day said the Merc was seen to the right of him.
Such a beautiful tree could have a phone wedged into the branch forks.
Anything's possible.

Wow imagine the evidence right under their noses literally!

Yes.. it's almost funny how much effort is being put on this!

Someone drove the car to Macedon with both phones, took a shovel from the house and dug around in the soil at Macedon, looked up "how do police trace phones?" & "how to remove blood stains" (or similar), a matching car was spotted at the exact time that matches phone records... but we are in no way suggesting that Borce is involved in any way... HA!

I can't wait to hear about the things the police know that we don't. It will be fascinating to hear about why they're keeping things from the public.

Yes! You could definitely head up towards the Calder to get to her shop. He may have been dropping her off and something happened in the car?
