On the subject of Facebook...It was stated in the media about Sarah deactivating her FB account so soon after Karen went missing...I found that very odd at the time...

However she used Karen's Facebook to contact her mother's friends to see if any of them had heard from Karen...

When you really think about it...AR's FB comments were published in the media and after all, AR is still part of the family dynamics being BR's biological son...

It makes it very confusing that we could discuss AR's FB comments that were published in the media without breaking WS rules...

On Tuesday night, Mr Ristevski and family members hatched a plan for him to leave the family home and avoid scrutiny from the large media scrum outside, as family members delivered McDonald's.

He might have escaped in the boot....where did he get that idea? With all that practice he's a real Houdini.

As Sarah was being comforted, Borce was seeing his solicitor.

The Age
has been told that Mr Ristevski and several other family members wept after hearing the news that the body was that of his wife.

As a stream of well-wishers comforted the couple's daughter Sarah in their Avondale Heights home on Wednesday morning, Mr Ristevski met Mr Stary in the city seeking guidance on what the discovery could mean to the investigation.
"Obviously his wife has been found and there's an autopsy report been completed, he wants to see what that could mean," Mr Stary said.

People have pointed out some similarities to the Baden Clay case and like Baden Clay, Borce lawyered up straight after Karen's disappearance.
"We've been advising him since day one really," he (Stary) said.

I do not do facebook.
So I have based my opinions on media and what pops up in the thread.
Face book is the very reason his accusation even made it into press in the first place isn't it?

Karen Ristevski’s ice addicted stepson Anthony Rickard calls relative ‘******* maggot’ on Facebook
http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/re...k/news-story/83361e7d8151a2b9c3fa8d9114f1d071

In Mr Rickard’s rant, posted yesterday above one of those mass produced, overly sentimental tributes that gets passed around the internet, Mr Rickard let rip at his own family.
He labelled one family member “a f***ing maggot”, said he was told as a child that he’d never amount to anything, and called family members “f***ing dogs”.

Karen Ristevski’s stepson airs family feud on Facebook
http://www.news.com.au/national/vic...k/news-story/24acc409ec4075c8516817e8c897498e

He’s made wild claims on Facebook he had an affair with his stepmother and they had plans to run away together.
Mr Rickard has also heavily criticised his father, Karen’s husband, on Facebook and called him a coward.
He said his father watched him do drugs and “allowed Karen to continue her fantasy of leaving u (sic) to run away with me”.
The stepson, who lives in Diggers Rest in Melbourne’s northwest, has posted a number of violent comments and pictures on his Facebook page.
One says “so many idiots, so few bullets” while another post mentions he’s facing problems but it’s “nothing violence won’t fix”.
Less than a week ago he posted a picture that looked like a coupon.
“One free murder. This voucher entitles you to commit one murder without legal, social or financial consequence,” it said..........................

Mrs Ristevski’s nephew, Chris Ristevski, told the program the family was “disgusted” by Mr Rickard’s apparent attempt to sell his story.
“That’s the type of person he is,” he said.
“He’s used everyone around him. He’s used Karen and Borce. Karen and Borce have both given him cars, which he’s totally destroyed. Money, accommodation, and he’s just abused it.”
The nephew also claimed he loaned Mr Rickard $2000, which was never paid back.

Mrs Ristevski’s shattered daughter Sarah, 21, has managed to keep out of the strange twists and turns in her mother’s case and is seeking help from the Missing Persons Advocacy Network.

Yes Oona the similarities are breathtaking.
I think BR is a hellova lot more cunning than Baden-Clay but Allison was able to claw his face and alert LE where poor Karen might not have got the chance.

It makes me wonder if Borce isn't a bit familiar with the case himself. But then why didn't he leave the phones home?

During an interview last July, Mr Ristevski told police his wife walked out of their Avondale Heights home on June 29 after an argument. Sarah, their only child, was the last person to see Mrs Ristevski before that row.

Sarah, now 22, was present at the family home earlier in the morning before leaving, police have been told.
The Herald Sun understands police believe they were close to making a key breakthrough in the case during the interview with Mr Ristevski.
The interview, which took place not long after 47-year-old Mrs Ristevski was reported missing, came to an abrupt end when he refused to answer any more questions.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/la...d/news-story/ee48a668502bb1000bcaf7762e984e42

What was the key breakthrough?
A confession seems the obvious.
Though, Borce is not seeming to be someone that is or was going to confess, if he is indeed the person responsible.
What else could it have been?
imo

It seems he knew LE had him cornered and he was hanging himself so he clammed up.

I love your brilliant sleuthing soso. Thankyou!

LE had him cornered and he clammed up that's a given TGY.
A break through - BR changed his version of events based on phone pings and possibly cctv being presented to him in that interview.
I was just wondering what the key breakthrough might have been that they were close to making during that interview.....
Borce does seem to be more worried about finances and was really peeved that he felt police had leaked his financial situation to the media.

Although Mr Ristevski has been interviewed by police, he has not been charged. The Australian is not suggesting he is involved in his wife’s disappearance.
A spokeswoman for Victoria Police declined to comment on whether the family’s finances *continued to factor in their investigation. “The investigation into the disappearance of Karen Ristevski remains ongoing,” she said.
“We will not be providing a running commentary on the investigation.”

Imagine a disunctional teenager suddenly having a female showing him empathy, guidance and structure. He could have been infatuated. There might have been some chats over a home movie where he got the wrong impression. He must blamed his father for his upbringing and jealous of spoilt Sarah, he could see how nasty his father was to Karen & they joked about running away because the unhappy house was evident but nothing sexual, only in his want for a knightess in shining armour.
I've been reading about alcohol/drug blackouts where during the blackout people imagine what could have happened and it becomes like a reality.
I'm thinking a loveless youth with hormones running wild could be to blame here.
It's sad really. Somehow I doubt Sarah has connected to offer support.

Lets face it, you would have to be wearing serious beer goggles to hook up with somebody like that, i mean really kr and ar.......Nup.

Are we being too harsh in judging Sarah's odd behaviour and body language in that press conference?

Loved ones tend to experience five stages of emotions in relation to grief and loss;-
Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance
This is based on Elizabeth Kubler Ross's five stages of grief model.

It's possible Sarah was feeling depressed and numb...the shake of the head could have been denial.
That press conference was held two weeks after Karen's disappearance.
The initial hope of Karen's quick return would have faded by then...also the shock in response to Karen's disappearance may still have been felt by Sarah....MOO

What the family are going through I cannot imagine.

But why would any of the stages of grief stop you from cooperating with the police to help them find your mother?
Why would any of the stages of grief stop you from cooperating with the police in helping find your mothers killer?

I recall watching a police officer cry when discussing the search and investigation for Allison, after GBC had been charged with her murder. The family assisted the police and the police supported them every step of the way.

Karen's only brother Stephen who would be experiencing every stage of grieving. imo

Mr Williams expressed his gratitude to members of Victoria Police for their work since Karen's disappearance, in particular thanking members from the Missing Persons Unit. "They've been amazing," he said.
http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/b...ly-horrific-eight-months-20170222-guj1cb.html

When Mr Ristevski stopped co-operating with detectives in the middle of last year, claiming they had developed tunnel vision and were looking at no other suspects than him, Sarah followed suit, according to The Australian.
Sarah has also been dragged into a sordid feud between her father and his estranged son Anthony Rickard, a self-confessed ice addict.

It's interesting that the rattling nest has not been instructed to stop the rants...maybe police just have wanted to see where it all goes and no doubt they are keeping a close eye on it.

I'm also surprised that if the allegations of the family secret are untrue, why hasn't he been slapped with defamation?

Has BR remained quiet about it because he is dangerous and emotionally unstable due to his drug use and just let it go... keeping his distance specifically if the accusations have any truth to them?

The rattling nest rang Karen 10 days before she disappeared... telling her he was thinking about suicide and getting her to feel sorry for him by emotional blackmail and that $850 cash was for him and BR found out and the arguments could have been a combination of all those factors? :dunno:

It's time for another Drip Feed... or better still...ARRESTS. :please:...

Definitely sosocurious.
One would think: No matter how they are feeling,
or the stage/state they are in, they would want to 'find' their loved one.

Certainly help Police, in every way possible, day or night,
answer/follow whatever Police request.
Answer all their questions, inform them of any 'estranged relatives',
do what ever possible to help find your precious one, to assist in trying to solve the case.

Those closest to relatives have so much information that may help Police.
Don't hide it. Tell them what you think, what you feel.

I guess, if Police, met us Sleuthers, they would say":
"THANKS, join us in this investigation, help us through,
with your inside knowledge of your relative.
Have a coffee, and a 'kit kat' with us".

Perhaps you may be required, to gather further inside info. to assist
ie carry a 'listening device, and don't remove your tracker 'accidentally'.

You would think, they would keep you well informed of the current situation,
knowing you may possess certain knowledge, of the type required in the particular incident.

I know, I would be such a 'helpful pain',
they would leave the country, and enter a different career, to escape my 'help' !!!

When the phone would ring, at the Police station, the answer, would be, "Unavailable.
Sorry. We don't know what country he has escaped to".

I have to take my hat off to the Ristevski's.... 10 years of this truly destructive ranting by Ant , I would have made him disappear many years ago. . Permanently. How does a family endure this? .. with all the other stresses and strains, financial, social, emotional, etc...

And especially now. .. Either what he, Ant , says, is true or he is a family anhilator, in the social contact sense. Murdering them by gossip. I have decided that Ant is nutso and his claims are absurd. The fact that he is making them , still, 10 years on, is hideous.

I am so intrigued by the statement that Borce clammed up at his one interview.. ..that the police feel Borce dropped himself in it, and the time taken now is confirming how he did the murder. .. It is vital to me that no other suspect is being floated, this annoys the Borce/Vlasko team, but hey, them's the breaks... Sarah still invisible, Vlasko laying low, Borce incommunicado, Ant rambling nonsense, Chris fighting Ant's fires, ...

Someone is going to crack up. .. Everyone must be stretched tight,, and the financial situation would be 10 times worse now than what it was the day before Karen disappeared..... someone is going to suddenly fold.

This story, the phone call... you got to hand it to Ant, it's a very finely detailed yarn, and it has everything but pink lemonade in it. .. the pining stepson, the compliant stepmother, the foundation of Karen's adoration of him, his capacity to make Karen do what ever he wanted, the money, the up yours to Borce.. all in a few sentences!!.... I wonder, truly, if it really happened... ..

Ha ha Trooper
Very detailed indeed..... the puppeteer at work.
How many cctv shots of the merc do you think police would have that were captured that day, the day before and maybe the day after......?

We get to see the one at Diggers rest railway, just around the corner from the ranting ant. The last place Boris phone pinged.

“They asked if my dad had been up this way, if he knows anyone up this way, does he have (other) properties,” Mr Rickard said of a subsequent meeting with detectives at his Diggers Rest home.

At least the ant was talking to the police and most certainly had not clammed up.:( he still hasn't :D

I keep going back to that cctv footage, are you all doing that, and replaying it, hoping to see something I missed ..... I may need to stop now because I just saw a gigantic baby's face filling the car window.
