Apologies: my message didn't post so here goes again

You guys really do think outside the box! Amazing stuff

Article below confirms

'Mr Rickard, himself a father of two, came to the attention of missing persons detectives after being interviewed at Sunshine police station last week over an unrelated matter.
“They asked if my dad had been up this way, if he knows anyone up this way, does he have (other) properties,” Mr Rickard said of a subsequent meeting with detectives at his Diggers Rest home.
“I said (to police), ‘If you’re going to say it, say it’.
“So I got them to say, ‘Did you kill your stepmum?’.
“I said, ‘I would have liked too'

.........

Further the same article goes on to state:

'In another development, police have contacted the *Herald Sun this week after the paper interviewed a woman who claimed she had been *accosted by a strange man along the footpath behind the Ristevski house.'

So perhaps the Woman's claim Could be related to the two week police investigation/reenactment

Bit of delayed 'overkill' by police for a 'common' assault approximately a year ago unless, of course, that incident is somehow connected to Karen's murder. Not sure about that. Still think evidence of some sort. May be proven wrong.

Oops! Excuse the dreadful pun. No disrespect to Karen, or those who love her, intended. Limited pre-caffeine vocabulary.

Also, I believe that fellow who'd been accosting women in the area was identified and eliminated as a suspect. Hence police telling local walkers they didn't need to be specially cautious.

Yeah, I think you're spot on with that one, JLZ.

A neighbour apparently asked police after the disappearance whether extra precautions needed to be taken in case there was a kidnapper in their midst. Amid the festival of rumours was the claim that there was no need to take extra care.
Police have advised the residents to take sensible precautions, like not walking alone and at night along the river.
“People were paranoid there was a mass murderer around,” says one neighbour, who declines to be identified.
Another neighbour, Christine Dedic, says police took footage from a security camera outside her house, adding that investigators had obtained vision from other properties in the area.
Ms Dedic says the disappearance has given an eerie feel to the neighbourhood and she now refuses to walk her dogs down by the river: “It makes me nervous, I don’t walk down there any more.”

Several neighbours would not talk about the case, however one confirmed he had spoken to police again last week about the availability of CCTV footage.
He told police his footage did not show Ms Ristevski on the day she disappeared, adding that parts of the case were puzzling.
“Why would you go for a walk along the valley with your handbag and purse?” the neighbour said.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman last night said police were not in a position to restrict anyone from speaking to the media.

Looks like the footage was taken from Essex Close.

Not only yours, Puggs. Mine too. I also wonder if there were instances of women being 'accosted' in Avondale Heights prior to Karen's disappearance. If so, I agree that would play well into the perpetrator's narrative. I'm still of the mind that there's a kernel of truth in every lie.

I'm currently trying to get my head around statement analysis and its application to this particular case. It's hard going hence the 'my brain is tired' excuse for not doing a timeline to include the Peerless 'stop' at 2:45pm. Assuming, of course, that the reenactment was done at a similar time of day as that when Karen's car was suspected to be in that location on the day she was killed.

Peta Harris, who usually walks her dog in the area twice a day, said she no longer felt safe wandering down the path alone. She said there had been a noticeable drop in the amount of people walking and riding in the once buzzing area.........................................

Olivera Milosevska was one of them. She said she used to pass Mrs Ristevski on her walks and agreed the area had quietened since the 47-year-old went missing.

In the weeks before Ms Ristevski’s disappearance, Ms Milosevska claims to have been approached by a man on two occasions, the first time he made a lewd comment and the second he invited her to walk with him.
But like Ms Harris, she admitted being too scared to walk as far as she once did..........................................

Fellow walker Gabriel Merchan said while he hadn’t noticed too much of a change in the amount of people around, it was “very strange and quite scary … for the family and whole neighbourhood, it’s not good”.

I wonder if Ms Milosevska reported it to the police before Karen disappeared?

For what it's worth, OM--in my opinion--resembles Karen.

Milosevska, could be a Macedonian name.

Bo, to do with the neighbour who said CCTV footage was taken by police from outside her house.

The fact that OM recognises kr from walks to me suggests that KR did walk on the track fairly often. I bet she had a usual route

Note the phrase 'not walking alone and at night'. I wonder if MO was 'accosted' by this man 'at night' and if Karen also went walking 'at night'? The MSM reports aren't specific to the time of day when the persons who reported seeing Karen on her regular walks actually saw her.

I took that to mean police told residents to just take the usual sensible precautions, nothing further was needed.

. . . Meanwhile . . . is nobody going to comment on nest activity? I'm also in the dark.
