I've taken a look at the contour map for this area. This particularly spot is the lowest point for southern draining streets (northern draining streets would flow to big drain easement through Browning Cres). Downslope dead-end streets have twin concrete drain covers above the kerb (on the nature strip). Twin openings caters for extra flood water that pools in the dead-end. The difference with Peerless Ct is that is also has two grates on the road. I assume this is because there is a major stormwater junction here (possibly receiving Oakley drains), so addition pits or pipe diameter increases occur here, therefore additional maintenance access requirements. If there is a sump pit for pollutants, this would be the ideal spot before water discharges to Milleara Drain.

Also check out Googly Maps laneway. Looks like another grate at the other end of the walkway. Everything may connect around here so good place to explore the underworld.

Watch out for clowns though.

Bingo! Thanks Rich x

The only reason I can think of for that is if he planned to prove that he didn't remove her by car. In which case he would (or ought to) have been very careful that no cars left his residence around the suspect time.

But he did take her car out in the morning. What if he killed her in the back yard? Would there be evidence? Would it be washed away by rain or lawnmowing?

Such a good point!! Makes me think he was getting rid of evidence then

Me too, but why there in broad daylight so close to home, unless he forgot to dispose of it earlier? Wouldn't it be marvy if the police recovered evidence down in the drains after all this time.

So your idea would be that he didn't want to contaminate the house with evidence? It sounds terribly risky to me to take a dead body out on a public walking track.

I am not sure that he took her out that way, but what if he tried to stop her walking out the back gate and killed her in the back yard? I think it would be easier to get rid of evidence in a backyard than in a house. I don't mean that he planned that, but it could have happened when she walked off from the argument and he tried to stop her to argue some more.

What if the whole Peerless thing was not a reenactment, rather a high viz strategy to put the wind up someone? I now think it's more likely that evidence was seen/searched for/found in one of the drains. Maybe at the other end, where the drain empties and they're tracing it back in reverse? I don't know much about the whole drainage system, though.

My daughter did, said her client saw her that morning. I have asked her to contact me unfortunately to no avail.

That salon is gold! It has been a veritable hotbed of information!

What about returning to make sure no evidence was left?

Seems to me that the "goss" gave us a white van in the area

Much later msn came out with a witness who described a white van....?????

I wouldn't dismiss or ridicule so easy.....when ...with time. ..that goss has been somewhat proven right....JMHO

I had almost forgotten that. Was there an ending to that?

I'm thinking of moving back to Melbourne so I can get my hair done and learn the TRUTH about this case! So far the salon has been the most reliable source of info.

Whatever the circumstances of Karen's alleged murder, the sequence of events immediately afterward have been constructed to cover her killer's a*** so they can avoid taking responsibility for their actions. How cowardly. Man up. *drops the mike*
