Ristevski family’s ‘constant struggle’

A FORENSIC accountant says he “has no idea” why Borce Ristevski set up a second company to receive funds from his struggling clothing boutique in the months before his wife went missing.

Gerard Curtin from Victoria Police was tasked with investigating the financial situation of Mr Ristevski, his wife Karen and the couple’s store, Bella Bleu, after Ms Ristevski’s disappeared in June, 2016.

At a committal hearing in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today, Mr Curtin said Bella Bleu “had serious cash flow issues” and could not cover “rent, wages and stock”.

“You’ll see there was a constant struggle,” he told the court.

If Karen found out about this, (if she didn't know before hand), surely this would cause problems.
Was BR taking money out, so Karen thought, her clothing store, was doing even worse!!!!

and really, Borce was a bit silly not to mention this business.. not leave it up to a forensic accountant to find it, which is what forensic accounts do, find out stuff.. Borce should have led off with that info, right at the beginning..


No wonder Borce took the high road of no speakies.. and Sarah too.. this explains why.

Keeping this matter secret is a terrible example of 'consciousness of guilt'. .

Technically, Bella Bleu/Warrant Brands would have been loaning the money to Envirovision. So Bella Bleu/Warrant Brands shouldn't have been able to avoid its tax and debt obligations, due to sales records showing the income. Unless they were making sales that did not go through the till ... so that there were no actual records of sales.

In other words, they made off the record sales, and dumped the income into Envirovision.

At least, that is the way that I see it.

An application for the will was approved by the Victorian Supreme Court in May last year, but it is not clear when Mrs Ristevski received her share. Sources close to the family believe proceeds were distributed early this year but lawyer George James Bouhalis, who has long acted for Mrs Ristevski and her husband Borce, said the money was paid before the end of 2015.

A missing persons squad detective has given evidence about “yelling and screaming” from the Ristevski home before Ms Ristevski’s disappeared.

Detective Sergeant Graeme Hamilton told the court the information was provided by a neighbour living near the Ristevskis’ Avondale Heights home, in Melbourne’s north, in the days after she went missing on June 29, 2016.

Detective Sergeant Hamilton told the court Mr Ristevski was not a suspect at the time, but he wanted “to talk to Mr Ristevski about their domestic situation”.

“When I spoke to Borce that afternoon, I wanted to cover off in my own mind, whether there were any arguments that may have caused (Ms Ristevski) to leave or whether there was anyone else in the relationship,” he told the court.

Yes.. ME.. ! so slow I run out of time. Which could be a good thing, because I cant help being sarcastic about Borce's idiocy, and it does get tiresome..

BUT... how could he be so ridiculous? even an amateur would see the holes in the plan. Karen and her inheritance didn't last long together, and the Envirovision plan to collect all the assets and leave all the debt to Bellablue and Warrant before the thing went under , which one shop already had, just goes to show how determined Borce was to take control of that inheritance, Ristevski money as Borce would see it. Maybe Sarah saw it that way, too..

Casting one's mind back to early last year, wasn't there some exposure of Borce and Vlasko setting up a company , Envirosomething, waste disposal?. some thing of that nature...?? any one else recall this, naturally , I cant find it anywhere now...
