How game would you be to take Basil for a walk on the trail ...... to count the number of cameras?

More than happy dear Puggle to take him for a walk around the back skirts...unfortunately not until the weekend as I work full time and certainly don't feel comfortable walking at dusk. Intimidating as he looks ....let's say if I had an intruder he would lead them to the silverware and then tie HIMSELF up !!!

Further reiterating calls for locals that may have seen anything to come forward,

That morning of the 28/29th June , please check your CCTV if you have them.

Check a back up if you have footage that may fall into those times.

All I can see is GBC again; same horse, different rider. As time passes, so does forensics; I hope they find her one way or another soon.

You have a way with words ...luv it..

Seriously it was only a tease .....I wouldnt advocate anyone going there alone.

With these cameras though ..... I am going purely from memory, as I haven't been that way for years...My mum lives closer to Buckley st...near the big dip.... Anyway ...from memory the trail is way down an embankment....

Even if they had cameras at the back of their houses ...... it probably wouldnt capture anybody on the trail because of the difference in elevation. ...........am I right?? ..... as I said its been along time since I have been that way.

ETA: I did a google walk of the street ..... I can't see any cameras on either side of the street in the front of the houses....lots of the older style (-white/blue box) alarm systems.....which my mum still has. ....very popular in the area. From memory they were sold door to door in the 80s....lots of sensor lights....ohh and a kids slide on someones roof...

Thats a good point puggle, CCTV has only line of sight. Though some may move around, going to be hard to pin a sighting if one.

Although properties out front and down the road have sight.

A point was made big houses expensive cars no cams.???

Courage .. That's interesting, what could people be afraid of I wonder .. Connections? Sounds like people who knew them would know a lot more than they're saying, police might even be reaching out to Sarah with that comment. My guess is there was family violence and or control, previously only known to the inner circle.

Courage is an interesting word to use to call on other family members and people who new the Ristevski "family". I take it as meaning two things.
1. To give a character reference on the type of person Borce is. How they perceived his relationship with his wife was. This is if they are trying to build up a case against him
2. not sure if they are connected to the underworld Ristevskis from NSW, but "courage" to come forward to possibly provide info on any involvement relating to this or if they were aware of any threats the family may have received. This is if the were thinking they used Karen as payback for his involvement in some underworld crime. Maybe far fetched though.

If I had any genuine reason to head that way ..... I'd go with you. ..and bring my Rotti for protection.

Only joking..... I seriously wouldn't be walking the trail alone....not until this is all sorted.

Has LE warned people not walk in the park due to a possible crazy lurking on the loose? No?
Same as Baden-Clay.....they knew the murderer.

Case solved then I guess...

Im actually trying to remember if the police put out an official warning in the immediate days after Jill Meagher was murdered ..... I dont recall..... But I do know the Husband was crucified on SM ...

And I do remember I found out that Brunswick Police had received complaints of a guy hanging around in the area harrassing people before she went missing ..... they never put out any warning prior either...

Locals have said they are now scared to walk the trail ...... so Im guessing some people are prepared to consider the danger may lurk on the trail......??

I agree with you, they're not looking at that angle at all or there'd be warnings.

Puggle,

I remember that case i looked at it from the day jill went missing, im irish so when a work colleague showed me i followed the case.

The police did not issue a warning at all, as at first they didnt know what had occurred.

They have warned people to be careful - Probably as close as they get.

Avondale Heights Senior Sergeant Stuart Dunstan said people should go about their normal routines, but take necessary precautions if walking early in the morning or late at night.

If the Herald Sun is to be believed .....

They made it sound like police weren't even aware of the womans claims about a stranger on the trail....

The Herald Sun did some grandstanding how they can reveal that police had contacted them (herald sun) to get the details of their interview with the woman.......... that was written in the same article that the Stepson had his front page headline....

maybe just HS trying to make it sound more suspenseful. ...??

Who knows....

One thing i just realised is that possibly Borce was telling the media the police told him not to speak about the case publicly as a way to get the media off his back- especially now as he might have been deemed a formal suspect. It would look horrible for the Herald Sun to whip out another story where a reporter asks Borce directly if he is a suspect, and he is caught between a rock and a hard place- not wanting to publicly acknowledge he is a suspect, though also not wanting to offer the dreaded 'no comment' response, which is damning. So Borce preempts it all by saying the police told me not to speak LOL. Ingenious tactic. Perhaps his lawyers thought it up for him. Some lawyers are worth their weight in gold, aren't they? hehehe Just my opinion, of course.

I think puggle and someone else talked about this business of Borce saying the police told him not to speak to the media, and the police saying they can't tell people what to do; I agree with puggle and co. that both statements could be correct: the police can't stop anyone talking to the media- true; and, the police might have told Borce to be wary of what he says to the media lest he slip out some vital details that are being kept secret. Although, referring to the previous paragraph, i think it is more likely that Borce's lawyers told him to keep quiet, which is troubling because he is saying police told him to keep quiet. Surely he can't just be making things up. Something doesn't quite add up. There is some trickery going on here. Everyone seems to be playing little word games: the media, the police, Borce perhaps, etc. I think the police told Borce to be cautious and not let information slip unnecessarily, while his lawyers told him to zip it. That sounds reasonable.

Yeah I can't remember any warnings either and thats why itbwas probably so easy for the public to simply assume the husband must be guilty........ but the truth is the Brunswick Police had recieved complaints in the weeks prior about a man harrassing a woman at the a corner not far from where Jill was killed .......... near the pizza shop.... yet even with that....no warnings put out.
