Emirates, you're a real asset to this thread, please be careful. If you're going to take that walk along that trail, don't post when you intend to take that walk, not on here (this thread) please. (HINT: We don't know who's viewing this thread)

And everyone should be careful about giving away identifying characteristics like the type of dog you walk on here if visiting the area.

No body would recognise Basil in this.

....I'm sure I would blend in with out any problems at all walking along the river with that subtle image. LOVE IT.

Basil the undercover agent!!

Excellent advice considering the weird FB'er.
Google maps show enough about the area.
Best to stay clear for your safety.

Yes that's it - now I am sure Borce was the 3rd man to the back of me....talking to 2 others. I tried to drive as slow as I could - at one point I thought I saw the tall fellow holding something black which looked like a camera (sorry to be so vague).

Worth noting, it doesnt look like he has a wedding ring on is left hand. Of course it could mean anything, maybe doesn't fit anymore?

sorry looks like the photo of Borce out the font of his house with the two cars didn't attach. That's the pic i was referring to posted earlier on by Sleepinoz.

Just a note about wedding rings. Some cultures wear them on the corresponding fingers on their right hand

'• In some European countries, it's customary to wear the wedding band on the right hand, in others on the left hand, and in some cultures with the groom wearing the band on his right and the bride on her left. Widows and widowers often move the band to the other hand.'

I've been musing on this myself, given the history of failed business and financial problems (along with my unconfirmed theory about another possible member of the family, associates and their circumstances).

Charlie Bezzina's statements:

'But he said it wasn’t “beyond the realms of possibility” that she may have been abducted.

“While you always live in hope — we know people do get abducted, we know people are held captive — the idea is slim,” he said.

“(But) you never give up.”'

are not so far off the mark if, say, a debt (or 'goods') were outstanding. Also, if someone was going to be called as a material witness in an upcoming trial. Just a few additional 'slim ideas'.

Addendum: Natalie Savino deserves to be congratulated for such a well crafted piece of journalism.

Boiled down to gravy , there are three reasons why men and women are murdered.... sex, religion , and money..

In Karen's case, I am inclined towards the money angle.. .. There doesn't appear to be anyone sexually infatuated or rejected by Karen, although it is entirely possible that she was in a secret relationship, possible but improbable.. hardly anything can be kept secret these days...

I don't regard religion as being a factor in her disappearance......... none of them, stepson, husband, daughter have mentioned this aspect of their lives or Karen's life as significant..

Which leaves money. ..... Something happened recently.. it seems that they all jogged along with a large debt for a long time, it didn't appear to increase dramatically, or decrease.... somewhere the money component of this event .. well. I reckon it's murder.. (no one keeps a grown woman locked up secretly somewhere for this long without mucking it all up.. there is food and laundry and the loneliness of being a guard in total silence... ) is the kind of motive and reason for Karen's death. And that death was close to home, ....... no one saw her outside of her home base.

Interesting statistics in that article-

More than 35,000 people are reported missing in Australia each year, or one person every 15 minutes.

While more than 95 per cent are found within a short period of time, more than 2000 remain missing long term or for more than three months.

Marina Simoncini, Australian Federal Police co-ordinator of victim-based crime, said the reasons people went missing were many and varied and could include abduction, murder, domestic violence, misadventure, miscommunication, mental illness or dementia-related illnesses.

abduction - IMO doubtful
murder - highly likely
domestic violence - possibility
misadventure - unlikely
miscommunication - unlikely
mental illness - possible but unlikely
dementia-related illnesses - highly unlikely

I'd like to know how much superannuation and life insurance Karen had.

no one can collect that Super money or Insurance money without the body and a death certificate!.... or wait seven years.....in that case it would be a preternaturally patient killer.... . it must be very worrisome waiting for search organisations to find the very body you need to collect the windfall. .. especially as you are the only one who actually knows where the body is...

( that was Baden Clay's conundrum.. he killed her for the money , but then she had to be found to collect the money.. he must have had a bad time waiting for her body to be found... the desire to point out exactly where he dumped her must have been overpowering..)

A caveat: If KR was abducted, I don't believe she is still alive.

An Indian woman went missing from her unit at Westmead, searchers and police could not find her for several days. (Of course we all suspected her brother). Behind the large unit complex there was a small creek which was usually dry but was swollen due to recent rain. When the creek subsided the woman was found hanging by her large scarf from a branch.

The police concluded it was suicide.

Simple. It happens.

It could be possible life's problems overwhelmed Karen and she took a rope in her handbag, turned off her phone and found a tree branch and bid the world goodnight.

Sad but possible considering the heated argument, debts, the SS and her considering 'leaving'.

If this is the case she could be hard to see being dressed in black.

Just some thoughts here.

I have been thinking along these lines also.........Karen could not see any way out of all this........and decided suicide was the answer......MOO
