Sadly I think Karen is deceased and was deceased prior to 10:00am on 29 June.

I'll rephrase. I don't think BR's reporting her missing 'so soon' is inconsistent with the rest of his story. If it happened the way he said, he wouldn't have assumed she'd just walked out on a finished marriage.

I've also wondered if Karen was the sick love interest of the step-son and he was getting more and more out of control. Did Karen threaten to reveal all to his father?

Wouldn't that be at least equally disadvantageous to Karen?

It wouldn't be disadvantageous to Karen if she was not a willing participant but instead, totally fed up with the attention. I'm not saying this is the case, just looking at it from a different angle.

I don't think he necessarily initiated this story - it is the first statement and a "no comment" when they went to his house.
