Yes this is what I thought too. BR automatically gets the house, even though it was in her name, that's just a technicality if they got divorced he would have been entitled to 50%.

There is no automatic if there is a Will. If there is no Will, yes it is automatic.

Most business savvy people would have a will.
Just as well Karen is not director of the company that would have really complicated things. You would think.
This is all so complicated.
imo

Hmmm .... if Karen had decided to leave Borce, and had informed Borce of such, I am now unsure if her murder was planned or unplanned.

Where is Alioop when you need her

That's for sure!!! We could use some of her corporate law knowledge right now.

I just looked her up, she hasn't signed in since Sept last year - I hope she's ok.

So, presumably, if Borce did not inherit anything, and Sarah inherited everything (uncontested by Borce), the creditors could not touch the inheritance for Borce's sole (and possibly, portion of joint) debts.

Then if anything happened to Borce sooner or later .... AR is not in the picture.
Just the only child.

If something happened to BR, yes AR would be in the picture but only as far as what actually was owned or left to BR.

All of these assumptions depends on if Karen had a will, and what she decided to leave to who.

Does anyone believe Karens murder was motivated by money.....

And maybe what she was told to leave to who.

Sounds like Borce is pretty shifty and somewhat accomplished in dodging debt.
And I think Karen would have agreed to the manouevres that she had her name attached to because she wanted a roof over her head (and Sarah's) and wanted a decent future for her only child.

What makes you think that, Puggle? (joke)

Could it be the pages and pages of financial talk here? :D

If you had just gone through the process with your own parent. That could prompt you to make sure your own was in order.

Is there is such a thing as 'Borce's sole debts' when he is or was in marriage contract, wouldn't creditors try to get their money back instead of letting whole KR's inheritance bypass BR and end up in Sarah's hands?

This is why the house was transferred into Karen's name, so creditors from Blue Laser couldn't get the house.

I didn't follow the Baden case ..... anyone tell me.... apart from that scratch on his face.... was the case predominantly circumstantial or was it rock solid ..... and how does it compare to this case...

I didn't follow closely, but IMO predominantly circumstantial.

The botanist finding the leaves on her were from her own back yard, to me was a major influence, however there was other forensic evidence.

If im not wrong Blue laser was a limited liability company, it is separate entity from br and as such was protected, hence there was no need to transfer house to protect it.

True, I oversimplified. There really wasn't a reason to do that for Blue Laser, but IMO there was an obvious reason to BR. I can't imagine him transferring for no reason.

How long have they owned the house? ...... they probably own it outright by now...

My family home was a few blocks away from theirs.... was bought in 1967.... and was paid off about 25 years ago...

Back then the land was considered the outta outta suburbs....

the ammunition factory didn't help make the area appear all that appealing.....

but with urban growth and changing times....

a bonanza....land/house prices in the area skyrocketed. .. people like the Ristevskis...even my own parents wouldn't have dreamt the goldmines they were to eventually be sitting in.

Seems now that Borce may have wanted/hoped that Karen's remains would be found - perhaps by forest crew - but after enough time had gone by for decomposition to have eroded the cause of death.

Just like GBC wanted Allison to be found, once water had the opportunity to wash away his sins.
