The page is back up. Can it be linked yet? :)
Sorry if I'm not allowed to ask here. I don't know how to in another way :S

No. It is unlikely that the facebook will be allowed.

Thanks for asking.

Thanks for answering :D

On other threads in Australia, it is not uncommon to report on a Facebook post as it relates to the court case dates. A link is never provided. Opinions on Facebook could be just mean and slanderous.

The Ivan Milat murders are the most gruesome murders that I've ever read about. What he did to his victims is absolutely horrific. Since he usually took trophies, like back packs and clothing, I find it very difficult to believe that no one in his family knew what he was doing. It wouldn't surprise me at all to learn that one of his brothers was involved, or that someone in the family is continuing to murder hitch hikers.

I am --100% convinced-- there were other family members involved.

I am sure I was picked up while hitching in late 1989, in northern NSW by a Milat. No inside handles on the doors. Unwilling to let me out of the car. Creepy as heck, in general. I sensed he was toying with me. Very scary. In the end, he let me out apparently because I'd amused him, and threw my pack into a cane field.

After Ivan was convicted years later, I was watching a TV interview and recognised the man who picked me up. I recall what a shock it was, seeing that face again.

If it was indeed the same man, I have NO doubt there's other bodies out there -- and perhaps not limited to Belanglo forest, as Ivan's seem to be. Also, a somewhat wider frame of time might be involved.

You are going to find the Belanglo Forest to be a dumping ground for years to come. Anyone who wants to dispose of a body knows that initial thoughts and fears will automatically fall on Ivan Milat. It buys the murderer time, and casts suspicion away from themselves.

The man was, is, a monster.

Your story chills me to the bone. The lack of door handles on the inside is something others have stated about Milat's truck, the few who also managed to escape. Unimaginable horror.

Horrifying, ausgirl! I remember the prosecution's star witness was a young man from the UK (IIRC?) and he too got away. I can remember getting chills when I heard his story of running to another car to escape, and just had the same chills when I read your story. I wonder how many of us dodge a horrible fate like this and don't even know it.

Thing is - this wasn't Milat's truck, it was an older model sedan.. and I am pretty sure it wasn't Ivan (I'm trying to be careful what I say here..).

I truly think the murders began long before Belanglo became the favourite dumping ground, and that Ivan wasn't killing alone. Missing girls north of Sydney in that time frame really catch my eye as possible victims. I am very sure I was almost one of them. I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life, and I wasn't easily scared back then...

WHAT?!?!?!?!?

So it wasn't Ivan you were referring to as the man you recognized in the interview? Someone else? I thought you had been in Ivan's truck! There were other reports from people claiming to have barely escaped, or had accepted a ride from a creepy guy with Ivan's description, who didn't have door handles on the inside of the truck.

But how can you be certain that the person who picked you up is a murderer? He may have been toying with you, or could have been dangerous in some way.......but maybe not at all along the lines of Ivan Milat.

Are you familiar with a late investigator named Brian Raven? I read some of his stuff years ago, he believed that Ivan was innocent. For so many reasons, I disagree.

I do not think and have never for one second thought Ivan was innocent, just to be clear.

But no, I am sure it wasn't Ivan in that car that afternoon. It wasn't his face that floored me when I saw it on TV - similar features, but Ivan was much darker back then, mo and all..

As for how I could tell he was a killer - well, he didn't kill -me- so I can't be sure. But was he predatory? Hell yes. I got the distinct feeling that he got off on letting me go - like he'd done me a huge favour and was thoroughly enjoying my fear. Not a huge step to 'maybe this guy has really hurt people', you know?

It wasn't just the front passenger door handle missing, either - every handle BUT the driver's was missing.

Plus the strong resemblance, the family links to the victim's gear and stories about their behaviour.. I have read a lot on this family, in the years after that TV show. I remain convinced now as I was then that Ivan wasn't the only killer... and that while Ivan stuck to one particular territory there was people he associated with who may not have had the same preference..

Have either of you read the book 'Sins of the Brother' by Mark Whittaker about the Milat family? They are one truly messed up bunch.

Highly recommend that book if anyone's interested in the whole horrific Milat saga.

Absolutely messed up & it continued on with Milat's great nephew killing a friend of his in the same forest....

A TEENAGE relative of serial killer Ivan Milat had no motive but a "thrill to kill" when he murdered a former friend with an axe, a court has heard today.

I've read bits and pieces, excerpts.. All of which in no way dimmed my belief that more than one Milat was a killer.

Gotcha ;)
I know exactly what you are saying. And I wholeheartedly agree. There are MANY people, including LE who believe the very same thing. Are you afraid of retaliation if you speak up?

I don't need to read the book. Second hand accounts of the family were enough to convince me. I did, however see Texas Chainsaw Massacre. All in the family, folks. ;)

I wonder if there is some sort of facial recognition software that can be used to match drawings, with faces of the missing? One that is available to the public, that is?

hmmm so image has been posted, thoughts?? the first is age progressed.

I'm not 100% convinced they are a match, but not ruling out either. There's no way to know.
