I have a few snips from this article....

NEIGHBOURS lit candles outside the home of Kiesha Abrahams last night while the missing six-year-old's mother, stepfather and biological father were being interviewed about the child's whereabouts by detectives at the Mount Druitt police station. The adults were at the station for several hours but left last night with no charges laid by police.

and this one:

'She was funny, she was always happy. She loved animals; she loved macaroni and cheese; she loved her sister and her brother.''

Homicide and sex crimes detectives have joined the investigation that began after Ms Abrahams reported Kiesha missing on Sunday morning.

and this one too!

Kiesha's biological father, Chris Weippeart, is also the father of Ms Abrahams's first child, Axxxx, who reportedly died of cot death at six weeks.

Died of cot death at six weeks????? This case needs looked at again! Wow... this is so alarming!!!

Shaking my head.

Or if the mystery relative has been interviewed. There's probably a plausible explaination but like yourself im curious to know why we are only just learning about this neighbours information now.

Respectfully snipped~

It's because she has only now (yesterday) come forward to say she saw Kiesha....which makes zero sense if she is a close neighbour.

I hope it's legit, but I have serious doubts. It's a block of units.....someone else had to have at least heard her in those 3 weeks, even if they didn't see her. Or what about other people hearing her in the background when mum or dad were on the phone ?

Channel ten news video with balloon release for Kiesha and which includes a new pic of beautiful Kiesha. (which looks like she is in a hospital bed-eta propbably from when the baby was born- now I see the hospital crib in the background).
And parents leaving motel to escape media attention.

What beautiful hair she has. At least the police spokesperson sounded slightly optimistic, which is much better imo than anybody coming out and saying she is certainly deceased. Hope, no matter how small is good.

Det Insp Oxford question the family's decision to move into a motel, following the surge of attention outside their home by media and local residents.

"I wonder if Kiesha happens to walk home and who's there to wait for her," he said.

Seems like the police think she's probably dead, but the parents are sure of it. Also I can't imagine the bio dad being involved in her death....he was barely involved in her life;

Mr Weippeart has seen his daughter only occasionally since splitting from Ms Abrahams, but he insists he loves her and thinks of her often.

"She is my little girl. She came here a few times and I used to see her at the shops and that," he said.

"And I sent her all these clothes for Christmas."

Doesn't appear that Kiesha had anyone looking out for her unfortunately. Her parents, the school, the community and DoCS. It appears that she slipped straight through the net, poor thing.

Homicide cops focus on death of Kiesha's baby brother Aiden Abrahams

POLICE will today widen their investigation into the disappearance of Kiesha Abrahams by focusing on the death of her brother, who died when he was a baby.
Homicide detectives yesterday confirmed they would look at the case of the baby Aiden Abrahams who died in 2002 from an apparent cot death.

The infant boy was just six weeks old.

Aiden was the first child of Kristi Abrahams and Chris Weippeart and was born about 16 months before the couple's second child Kiesha.

"Looking at the death of the first child to see exactly what happened will be part of the investigation," Detective Inspector Russell Oxford said.

A relative told The Daily Telegraph Ms Abrahams found the baby dead in his bassinet one morning.

It is unclear what the outcome of the post-mortem examination was, or who determined the cause of death.

Kiesha's biological father Christopher Weippeart (Weippeart) says he's struggling with Kiesha's disappearance.

"I'm expecting the worst
and, yeah, hoping for the best," he told Seven.

"I've already prepared for it, you know?"

Police said earlier this week that Kiesha's biological father is not considered a suspect.

http://tvnz.co.nz/world-news/police-step-up-hunt-missing-sydney-girl-3685762

Mr Weippeart was taken to Mt Druitt hospital on Saturday afternoon vomiting blood and mucus, his mother Liz told The Daily Telegraph.

The type-one diabetic's blood sugar levels were erratic since his daughter's disappearance, Ms Weippeart said.

http://news.theage.com.au/breaking-...h-ends-everyone-a-suspect-20100808-11pwd.html

Chris Weippeart admitted he had not played a large role in his six-year-old daughter's life, but insisted he cared about her as if she was living with him every day.

Mr Weippeart spent the first two years of Kiesha's life living with her and the child's mother, Kristi Abrahams.

It was a period he remembers fondly, but admits his daughter's upbringing was far from ideal.

He confirmed yesterday she was once bitten by an adult so ferociously she was admitted to hospital.

"She's my little girl and I'm worried sick. I want to know what's happened," he said.

Mr Weippeart has seen his daughter only occasionally since splitting from Ms Abrahams, but he insists he loves her and thinks of her often.

Mr Weippeart said his relationship with Ms Abrahams had been amicable since their break-up and he had no ill feelings towards her or her new partner Rob Smith.

"All I am interested in right now is knowing where my daughter is," he said.

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/ne...iological-father/story-e6freuzi-1225901359892

Ms Marshall also alleged Mr Weippeart had not seen his daughter for five years and had signed court documents saying he did not want contact with her.

He KNEW about the bite. He goes on to DESCRIBE it in detail. He was THERE at the hospital.

He ADMITS Kiesha's upbringing was "less than ideal."

So WHY did he just abandon her when they broke up? At the very least he could have had visitation and tried to balance out the "less than ideal" part.

The relationship after the break up was allegedly fine, which tells me he could have SEEN her if he WANTED to. Had he been doing that, perhaps we wouldn't be here talking about Kiesha right now. Instead, other media reports allege that he signed away rights to her...or something along those lines.

I respect my daughter's biological father because I wouldn't have her without him and he did what he felt was best for her. He has ZERO legal rights to my daughter, none. However, if anything major happened (major to us is life threatening, heart surgery, cancer, etc.) I would let him know, out of respect only.

However, you better believe if HE showed up at the hospital hysterical about HIS DAUGHTER... I would most certainly react violently.

I acknowledge she is his biological daughter. But any man who can stay away from a child when he has the opportunity to know that child, should not then be given the same treatment as a real father. Even if they do so because they feel it is "best for the child" to be raised only by the mother and stepfather. They could still know that child, even if it is not as a father figure.

I look at it this way. If Kiesha hadn't been reported missing...her biological father never would have known she was missing. Just as my daughter's biological father would not. That is not a father.

That really got to me.... in case that wasn't obvious. I will go back to my cave now... :furious:

Well it seems to be eating him up with guilt now if his hospital admission truely was stress-related. I did wonder if there might have been more to that.

Also, I think one of those articles is written poorly. I think the papers he signed were signing away his legal rights to Kiesha, not a "I never want to see my daughter again" contract. And it could have been somewhat co-erced.

He says he saw her around the shops. I wonder if they spoke?
And even though he says the split was amicable....well, I don't know that I really believe that. Who knows how much 'dirt' they have on each other.

He seems to think Kiesha is dead. I'd like to know why and his theory on who may have killed her.
(ETA could it be because he knows/believes that the first baby did not die of SIDS?)

Onto the bite:

Her comments follow statements by Mr Weippeart that Kiesha had been bitten by an adult. Channel Nine reported last night that her mother, Kristi Abrahams, had been charged with assault over the incident, but had no conviction recorded against her.

http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/missing-c...ss-boils-over-20100805-11kt2.html?autostart=1

Asked about the day Kiesha was hospitalised after receiving a serious bite wound, Mr Weippeart said he remembered it vividly.

"I'll never forget seeing that. She was about 18 or 19 months ... it [the bite] was on the shoulder, through her clothing," he said.

"It was so bad ... there was blood under the skin."

The Daily Telegraph has been informed of the identity of the person who allegedly bit Kiesha, but cannot reveal the name for legal reasons.

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/ne...iological-father/story-e6freuzi-1225901359892

I assumed that if Kristi was charged and Kiesha was taken away from her for a period of time, that she had to have been the one to inflict the bite mark.

Could a mother be charged if someone she allowed to care for her child did it?

This is the time I wish we were more like the US and they could reveal more info.
I know one thing I'd love to hear is the 000 call that Kristi made.

Good morning butwhatif? :cool2:

I can't see how the mum could be charged with assault if someone else did it but there'd be plenty of other charges she could have faced depending on the circumstances ie child endangerment.

Agree that the article was poorly written, there is no such thing as a contract where the father doesn't wish to see the child again. Was probably a stat dec or family law document re custody or something so Kristi could get welfare payments.

one thing I think......if they are now looking into the first babies death as part of this investigation, they are suspecting the mum of doing something wrong.....or was that baby the boyfriends???? if it wasnt then it has been said that bio dad is not a suspect and the new boyfriend wouldnt have been around when the baby died....just leaves mum....

obviously the FIRST TIME.. but how about a second look...

Nursie, I haven't had a look at newest studies or the medical investigations of children who die from SIDS (cot death).

Is it still a differential diagnosis? Or is there now evidence that concludes this diagnosis?

If it's still a differential they need to have another look JMHO. (going back to reading and lurking on this thread :))

TIA.
