Australia Australia - Kyle Coleman, 17, Mount Isa, QLD, 22 Feb 2014

I had thought maybe the friend had ODed - but if the police are so sure it was suicide, I guess there would have to be something to suggest it was intentional, not accidental. I truly hope it wasn't by firearm - no one deserves to find a loved one that way (or anyway, really for that matter).

This is truly a mystery - not like a major city case with CCTV, eyewitnesses, larger scale searches. It must be very hard for his family and the community to process at the moment.

I am going to go back and read through today's posts, but I've just found out that Kyle is good friends with my friend's daughter's boyfriend. She may have even said best friends, I can't remember. They are wanting people to help search for him. I will see if I can point her in the direction of Websleuths, in case anyone here can help.

Yep I'm here LJK :seeya:

Just reading all the msm.

Did anyone notice the change in the description of his clothing:

http://www.northweststar.com.au/story/2115629/tragic-twist/?cs=191
Kyle was last seen on Saturday morning wearing a black T-shirt with a white motif, white flat cap (Obey brand), red pair of board shorts and skate shoes.

Then later and in the parents interview:

Kyle was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with a white motif, a white flat Obey cap, a pair of light coloured shorts and skate shoes.

The parents interview said "cream".

IMO I'd have to say the rumours were correct. I think there was an incident, accidental or not, happen when they were at Undilla. He got nervous came home and didn't report it to anyone, then couldn't live with himself.

If the station owner can advise msm that he saw Kyle about lunch time and couldn't say anymore due to the investigation - what else does he know or what did he see?

http://www.northweststar.com.au/story/2115629/tragic-twist/?cs=191
Lindsay Miller, of Undilla Station, confirmed Kyle had been at his property on Friday.

He said he believed he saw Kyle about lunchtime, but said he could not comment further as police were investigating.

Undilla is a huge desolate property, large enough to have it's own airstrip or Airport as it is called in Google Maps/Earth, hopefully they can find something out there that will lead to the truth.

So this article, from the 27th, says Kyle was at more than one party. I'd not read this in any other articles:

"Police said new information that placed Kyle at a number of parties in the Soldiers Hill area in the early hours of Saturday morning changed the course of the investigation.

Inspector Kidd said the people who saw Kyle at these parties needed to come forward."

I was wondering what work Kyle did - the deceased friend was a co-worker. It turns out he worked at a diesel mechanics called Popeys:

"My daughters dropped bottled water to Popeys [Kyle's workplace] and sandwiches to the guys at the SES office.''

http://www.northweststar.com.au/sto...together-to-look-for-missing-teenager/?cs=191

"Popeys Diesel Services Pty Ltd : General automotive repair shops in Mount Isa, QLD"

http://www.manta.com/ic/mvtvhtz/au/popeys-diesel-services-pty-ltd

Looks like they are using Popeys as a meeting base for searchers.

Please help find Kyle Coleman If you would like to join the search 7am everyday till further notice at Popeys diesel services on Mica Creek Road

Police say they need new information if they are to have any real hope of finding missing Mount Isa teenager Kyle Coleman.

The last person thought to see Kyle was his best friend who took his own life on Wednesday.

Insp Kidd says there is no evidence to suggest the 21-year-old's death is in anyway linked to Kyle's disappearance.

So the MSM reports that Kyle was at a 'party' are not in alignment with what Kyle's aunt, JB, has said on her FB page on the 26th Feb.

https://www.facebook.com/jess.bonassi

She also says some other meaningful things about Kyle's bank account and phone not being touched........

Thanks for the update, fruity :seeya:

BBM I seriously hope that they can get some new information.

And I hope they are correct about his best friend's suicide having nothing to do with Kyle's disappearance. Because if it was related, he may well have taken all the facts about what happened to Kyle to the grave

It is seriously difficult to understand why Kyle’s friend suicided so soon after Kyle went missing.

What on earth happened that made him feel that he could no longer continue with his life?

Surely if an accident happened to Kyle, he would have been able to tell police the details, and even have tried to get help for Kyle.

There is an extremely high incidence of suicide in Mt Isa. In 2011 there were 23 suicides … a huge number for a town of that size. So many suicides, in fact, that government intervention has been called for.

More than 1000 people living in a Queensland outback town have called for a taxpayer-funded program to promote youth mental health after 23 residents committed suicide this year.
Federal Minister for Mental Health Mark Butler yesterday joined Kennedy MP Bob Katter at a community forum in Mount Isa to discuss suicide prevention after a spate of deaths in the town, which has a population of about 23,000.

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/que...ederal-help-20111007-1lc92.html#ixzz2uoEMLq9z

Statistics from the 2006 census put Mount Isa's population at just over 21,000, yet there have been between 20 and 28 suicides this year alone. Many of those who died were under the age of 25.

I'm also wondering what Kyle and his friend were hunting. There are (horrible) pics on FB of people from Mt Isa showing off their 'kills' which are wild pigs/boars.

Kyle is too young to have a license to use any kind of weapon. The only thing he can hold a minor's license for is target shooting under adult supervision at a target shooting range, or if he is a primary producer with valid proof of a significant animal/vermin infestation problem that has been unable to be eradicated in any other way.

http://www.police.qld.gov.au/programs/weaponsLicensing/licenceApplication/licences/minors.htm

I wonder if there was some kind of problem when they were hunting. A problem with some kind of 3rd party.
