Australia Australia - Kyle Coleman, 17, Mount Isa, QLD, 22 Feb 2014

  • #121
He said police were finding it challenging to verify Kyle's last movements.

He said they had been unable to confirm that the 17-year-old attended a number of parties in the early hours of Saturday, February 22.

``It would seem less likely that he was at parties but that doesn't mean he wasn't in Mount Isa,'' Inspector Kidd said.

So now they are thinking that Kyle wasn't at parties ....

Which is exactly what his aunt said on her FB page.........that it was just Kyle and his friend at the friend's house........

Yes, it is looking more and more as if Kyle and his mate went to do what many of the local lads appear to do ... a little feral animal shooting, maybe a little hooning around on the outback tracks.

Whatever happened to you Kyle? Where are you? I hope some of the locals are helping police with locations of places they usually go in the outback, and are helping to search for Kyle themselves.

.

Okay ... here is another theory. Could Kyle and his mate have stumbled on some illegal crop activities in the Mt Isa outback? Kyle's mate got away, Kyle wasn't so lucky. Then Kyle's mate decided to take his own life before someone else could take it for him. Fear could account for the cone of silence by the local youth that seems to be surrounding this case

From this photo published of SES members searching, the terrain looks green enough for a hardy weed to grow. And there certainly is illegal crop activity in the area, judging by MSM articles I have found. There are also OMCG in the area, according to MSM articles.

on Kyles missing FB page they are now asking

Talk to your children ask what they have heard and from who sometimes what is brushed off as simple story telling could be a fact that is much needed.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Please-help-find-Kyle-Coleman/623493187699172

I find this strange as the family were really quick to refute the possible sightings in Brisbane.

They have also mentioned the 'fear' factor.

Insp Kidd said Mr Coleman and his friend, who the Townsville Bulletin has chosen not to name, had planned to go camping near Camooweal, but only made it as far as Undilla Station due to boggy road conditions and wet weather.

http://www.townsvillebulletin.com.au/news/still-no-trace-of-kyle/story-fnjfzs4b-1226844465799

This link also says

“We have simply got the person who first reported him missing (his 21-year-old friend) that he (Mr Coleman) came back (to Mount Isa), and he (the 21-year-old friend) is now deceased,” Insp Kidd said.

So it was the friend who reported him missing, not family. Did Kyle spend a lot if time away from the family home? How did the friend know Kyle was missing before the family knew?

As per this earlier report, and others, he was reported missing by his family. If he left his friends house at Soldiers Hill on Sat morning, he wouldn't know he was missing. I think they have misreported.

Another theory could be that somebody who is 'powerful' in the town was involved in whatever went down that night.........and nobody is prepared to speak up against this person.:dunno:

It's sounding more and more like LE are disbelieving what they were told happened by the deceased friend. They obviously haven't been able to get any corroborative information from other people regarding what the friend said Kyle did.

Who knows if he really went missing when the deceased friend said? That station owner saw Kyle at midday on Fri, but it sounds like maybe nobody else did after that except his deceased buddy......:

"We have got people working around the clock on this, but we haven't got that solid bit of information that we can really lock in and confirm Kyle's movements."

So, it sounds as if Kyle and his mate only made it about ½ way to their destination. Then what? Did they get bogged in the mud and have to dig and manoeuvre the vehicle out? Did they just turn around and go home again? Did they try to find a high spot that was less muddy to camp in, and still tramp through muddy wet conditions to hunt?

If the weather was so wet and conditions were so wet and muddy (I checked the Feb rainfall for the area, there was a lot of rain) , why did they plan on going camping and hunting in the first place?

Something doesn’t add up here.

This is the junction of Thorntonia Yelvertoft Rd and Barkly Highway.

https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-20...ata=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s5VFjPZH-HpvGwW-1LjXK-w!2e0

Barkly Highway is the road to Camooweal – it is a paved road.

Thorntonia Yelvertoft Rd is the road through the fence on the right leading to Undilla Station – it is a dirt road.

What was stopping Kyle and his mate from travelling to Camooweal? It seems that there would be more boggy, muddy conditions stopping them from heading to Undilla Station IMO.

I thought the Junction was nearer to Lake Moondarra - as per this report.

Last night, police and volunteers were searching camping spots around the city, focusing mainly on The Junction out towards Lake Moondarra. Police said the search failed to uncover any new information

Which makes more sense in regard to muddy roads.

Yes, The Junction seems to be near Lake Moondarra (and could be where all the local lads 'play'). But Lake Moondarra is relatively close to Mt Isa, not 'near Camooweal' where they were supposedly heading. And that is what is confusing me. That they couldn't make it further than Undilla Station due to conditions.

https://www.google.com.au/maps/dir/...0eef17f2097a0!2m2!1d138.1179982!2d-19.9213874

I guess, though, they probably were travelling on dirt backroads, not on the highway to Camooweal.

And that is where they could have had some kind of incident, or stumbled across something that they weren't meant to see, or met up with a 3rd party. And now Kyle is missing and his mate has suicided. :(
