If Kylie was killed before 12 pm, wouldn't that mean she was alive for over 4 hours? Is that possible for such fatal wounds? jmo

Well yeah, that was one area I was thinking about, PS.

But mainly, it'd mean Stripey Hoody man might not have killed Kylie on that witnessed visit/lurk, if he was seen leaving the street around or just before 12, and the cc purchases were at say, 1 or 2pm.

But if they were at say, 12.15 that's still "afternoon" but puts him there squarely in the right time frame to have been the killer. It'd mean Tradey was a bit off with his times, but 15, 20 mins is not a huge difference.

Knowing what time the purchases were made would clear up quite a few questions for me. <modsnip>

So this older article says that the young tradie was sitting in his car when the man was casing the houses. But the tradie had returned to work before Kylie got home, and when he saw Stripey Hoody hurrying away.

Just wanted to add this, as I had the impression that the young tradie was sitting in his car the whole time.

He was having lunch in his car parked at the top of McCaffrey Rise when he saw a man acting suspicious on the street about 11.30am.

The tradie returned to work, but then recalled to police how he noticed Mrs Blackwood's black SUV return home soon after.

She reportedly opened the garage door and parked the car inside, before going to a wheelie bin in the driveway, and going inside.

The next glance down the street from the young tradesman saw the suspicious man "high tailing it out of the court" and turning left onto Balmoral Way, towards Eagle Drive.

He said the man appeared to be carrying something under his arm.

So he didn't actually see the guy leaving Kylie's house.......he just saw him leaving the street......I didn't realise that bit.

This is the first time LE have publicly stated this, as far as I know:

Police have dismissed earlier theories that Mrs Blackwood may have been killed by someone who was "infatuated" with her.

As we have found out from other cases, such as Daniel Morcombe - and now Baden Clay - LE work really quietly and persistently behind the scenes to bring the murderer to justice. And they don't publicise that fact!!

I'm reassured by that - just because we haven't seen an arrest yet, doesn't in any way mean that LE aren't onto the person/people involved. :happydance:

I wonder what was taken? As we know from WS and true-crime books/docos, LE usually recognise pretty quickly whether robbery was the MOTIVE or whether it was actually murder that was the motive and then the killer has tried to disguise it as a robbery.

As ever, I wish we had the facts available to us that LE do!!!:thinking:

Interesting that they are not saying what else was stolen. They evidently do not need the public's help in keeping an eye out for the items. Maybe they realised other things were stolen when they found them elsewhere?

And infatuation is now off the table too.

The possibilities are dwindling. They are getting there. Slowly but surely.

The man has been described as being about 177 cm tall, medium build with a muscular upper body. He was wearing loose fitting black pants and a black zip-up jacket.

Police have been told the man was carrying a brown paper bag and believe he may be able to help with their investigation.

I always thought before that maybe a bloody knife wrapped in a towel were in the paper bag .. perhaps all stolen from Kylie's kitchen.
