Why haven't they mentioned the other lady who was murdered?? 2 murders in a spade of a few months of each other and we hear nothing!!!

Welcome Imaright! -Yes, I'd like to know why we haven't heard more about the other young lady who was found dead in the Packenham area. I don't think her name was published either. Very odd indeed.

OMG Imaright! Hypothetically, I would say that would be absolutely horrifying! And I would say that someone would be fighting for their life, if they happened to be fighting a knife attack ... a knife attack that could also have left other knife wounds to the hands, and to the face.

I would also say that it could lengthen a murderous attack from a brief 5mins to a more horrendous 20mins!

And welcome, Imaright! So nice to have you join us! We could use some fresh speculation about this mysterious and horrifying case.

:welcome6:

I agree SouthAussie. The silence in Kylie's case is deafening!. Just over four months have passed since Kylie was brutally murdered and no recent updates from the police...at all!.

I guess the killer couldn't be a jealous female, could it? I wonder how accurate those police sketches are? I don't believe we've ever heard an estimated height/weight of the disguised intruder, or any useful details like that. Just wondering about possible removal of wedding ring/significant jewellery.

Another thing I was wondering, if there was damage to Kylie's hands - as indicated by the Herald Sun and speculated here - could that be due to potential DNA of the killer under her nails?

And I know that I have read somewhere, maybe on Morgan's thread, that sustained knife attacks frequently cause injury to the attacker as the knife gets slippery and harder to hold (sorry .. graphic).

Maybe the perp was injured in some way during the brutal attack/murder that caused his/her DNA to be left at the scene?. We can only hope.

Oh I hope so. Some unknown DNA/blood/fingerprints at the scene would be good to seal the deal if they can arrest someone. Seems that killers always leave something behind, no matter how careful they think they are!

I'm just hoping that with Peter Blackwood having a little flurry of activity in MSM with regard to the Kylie Blackwood Foundation, and Clarko, that perhaps he suspects that police are getting closer and closer to an arrest of some kind. And that they just need a little more help/evidence. So jogging people's memories is good.

I've been looking for any television interviews that Peter Blackwood may have done lately, now that he has decided to 'speak out' about the murder of his wife and the Kylie Legacy, but nada. I did see one recent TV clip where someone spoke briefly about it.

Victim's husband breaks silence - YouTube

That's interesting! Who was that speaking? Was that Clarko briefly appearing? Looks different from his photos, if it is him. It wasn't Peter Blackwood - wrong hairdo. I wish Peter Blackwood would speak. It would have a lot of impact having the bereaved husband speak out on TV. Draw peoples attention to the tragedy of the murder, and give people some inside perspective for the fight against violence toward women.

(Little disappointed that didn't mention anything about help with finding the killer. If I didn't know better, I would get the impression that the killer was already behind bars after seeing that video. Why is there NO FUSS about finding the perp?! Are Homicide onto it already - have a definite person in their sights??)

Is this the person SouthAussie?. If so, "Bryan Paynter - Foundation Spokesman". I also see it says on the White Ribbon event that I posted above "Contact: Brian Paynter" Brian or Bryan?

Bumping for Kylie.

Christmas will be a sad time for the Backwood family. I would imagine Kylie would have done wonderful things for her children for Christmas.

Prayers and thoughts for them.

Hope that 2014 brings justice for you and your family, Kylie! I find it sad that 'we may never know who did this'. I wonder if the police agree with that viewpoint?

"Solving Bung mystery, murders of Kylie Blackwood, Tracy Connelly & Teresa Paulino top police wish list"

"Mother-of-three Kylie Blackwood, 42, sex worker Tracy Connelly, 40, and 49-year-old mother of two Teresa Mancuso were all murdered in 2013.
For the homicide squad, which has just turned 70, solving these brutal crimes is paramount.
They are determined to provide answers for the Blackwood, Connelly and Mancuso families.
The Herald Sun understands progress has been made on all three cases in recent months."

Thanks for that info, SouthAussie :seeya: That is good to hear. I sincerely hope that LE are indeed working quietly behind the scenes, gathering the evidence to catch the person who did this.:please:

Still a month to go till the Kylie Blackwood Foundation Dinner! I keep hoping that when that gets near, we’ll get some more news on Kylie’s murder.

I wonder if the case is progressing. There hasn’t been anything saying police are stumped yet .. like there has been about poor Shey.

The Kylie Blackwood Foundation Dinner is coming up soon - on the 28th February.

Hopefully that will generate a bit more MSM coverage to keep this case in people's awareness. I just hate the thought of this becoming a Cold Case.....

I haven't forgotten about you, Kylie!:candle:

Teresa Paulino/Mancuso is another murder victim quite local to me, killed brutally in her home as so many others lately. I made a thread for her soon after her death, but spelled her name incorrectly thanks to shoddy msm! I'll ask Marley to change that for me when I add updates.

So many brutal murders over this side of town this last few years.... And such violence toward the women. It's distressing, to see so many - yet this isn't generally a terribly violent part of Melbourne. I think domestic violence is a huge problem over here, though, and in general in this country. But is there anyone making a fuss about it? Nope....

I hope the killers of ALL these women are caught, and that our courts wake up a bit to the fact that violence toward women is an epidemic and put the sods away forever. It's long past time our courts made some powerful statements about this issue....

On Insight (SBS) last night the topic was violence against women … and more specifically family violence. They made a lot of (unnamed) references to recent violence against women – I believe Lisa Harnum’s case could have been the impetus for the show.

Main reasons men gave for their violence ….

Men are the head of the household, women should do as they are asked/told, some cultures believe that their culture needs to be upheld even though they are now living in Australia, some men said they weren’t physical with their wives but they berated/manipulated/stood over them, some men said there was violence in the families they grew up in, some men said there was no communication or bonding in the families they grew up in, some men said they just wanted their own way.

Some women said they tolerated the violence …. until they had children. Then they started fighting back, which was worse for them.

It amazed me how many of the women were still with the violent men - or had stayed with them for a very long time - and the children were witness to much/all of the violence.
