Just coming back to Kylie's thread.... I feel sad for Kylie's friends. People's memories from the age of five and six are usually few and fragmented and blurred. They must treasure what little they do remember of her so preciously.
.Ausgirl:
I saw someone on Yahoo Answers name Mr Cruel as a possible suspect in Kylie's case
However, compare Kylie's rapist-killer to what we know of Mr. Cruel.
*Mr. Cruel knew a lot about police procedure and forensic science: he washed his victims, wiped finger and footprints carefully and destroyed his victims original clothes so they could not be tested for DNA or prints.
*Kylie's rapist-killer was not carefull. He left fingerprints, his sperm and his public hair all over Kylie. One report in the State Library of Victoria collection also indicates there was physical evidence of Kylie being forced to give oral sex.
Ausgirl. I would presume he was the first person checked also, but stranger things have happened. I just cannot wrap my head around the fact that he had come across what he believed to be a childs body and didnt get out of the car to even see if they were alive.
Ohh - good find, Paul!!! It certainly adds to the picture of what happened to poor little Kylie.
I read the Mr. Cruel connection thing before, as far as I know he was not thought to be linked to this crime. Probably for the reasons you gave.
You'd think with all that DNA, there'd be enough left in evidence to at least give a decent dna profile. Especially as those canny cops on the scene were so careful to store it, "just in case". I have to wonder if Kylie's evidence was among the dozens of cases potentially ruined, when some tosser of a lieutenant ordered a pile of cold case evidence destroyed a whiles back.
I hope they get this monster. If the dna is intact, I hope it's a matter of time.
Good work, Paul.
