  • #201
I just thought we were so close in Facebook for a possible sighting ...

sigh ...

I reallyknow it is very hardd for the family ....

BUT we must NOT give up ... On their behalf.

I feel that they have had enough .... so would we!

But just keep the word out there - anyone that is better than me (computer wise) - post on all Australian Horse Forums (guessing Stock Horse).

Thanks.

Hi All,
Please don't speculate. As you know it could comprise the investigation and/or trial if it comes to that. There are a few things going on which I can't talk about. I'm 50/50. Until I have irrefutable proof one way or the other, that's what I am doing. The world still goes on (despite what I might think otherwise) and realistically I have to too. This doesn't mean I have forgotten my sister or that I don't think about her everyday so please don't think that is the case..
Keep an eye on the media: particularly current affairs program's. There are a few things coming up.
Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers and wishes guys. Much appreciated.

Thanks J.

This case in Cleveland gives me hope! Some years back the police arrested 2 people and tore up a slab of concrete looking for the girls bodies and they got it wrong!

Please come home Liesl, or at least let someone know you're OK! Poor poppet...

Hi Eccsci and Everyone,

Thanks for sharing what you can as we know you could stay quiet and not say anything. I pray and hope that everything and everyone closely involved is handled with the best of care and precision when it comes to the authorities.

Thinking of Leisl everyday and always hoping for the best xo

There's an article in today's Central Coast Express Advocate newspaper about Leisl. Her father is requesting a new investigation - he thinks she is alive and living under an assumed name. The article says he spotted her on TV in Queensland recently.

The article doesn't seem to be online yet. Am I allowed to take a photo on my phone and post it as an attachment?

:blushing:I cannot find it

I couldn't either, so I used the search option of the digital copy .. searched for 'Leisl' and chose the option of 'in last 3 days' and the article came up.

From the handful of photos I have seen she can photograph quite differently. It would be easy enough to get that photograph of the woman circulated so that if she is not Leisl she can come forward. She has a distinctive singlet on.

Thanks all. I couldn't find an e-version for the life of me!

Here is a summary of the article for anyone who can't see - we aren't allowed to post full length articles are we?

THE father of missing Wallarah woman Leisl Smith has lodged a formal letter of complaint with the NSW Police Commissioner over what he describes as an incompetent investigation.

Storm Smith has written to Commissioner Andrew Scipione outlining his concerns about how the investigation has been handled.

Leisl Smith, 23, went missing from Tuggerah railway station on August 19.

Police told Mr Smith in April they believed Leisl was deceased but Mr Smith believes his daughter may still be alive and living under an assumed name.

He said he was sure he saw Leisl in a crowd shot during a Channel 10 news bulletin about a triathlon in northwest Queensland and also saw a Facebook post which appeared and then disappeared.

Sorry all, when I clicked the link this morning it took me to The Manly Daily - which is another paper in their news group.

If you go to 'Select Title' next to the search bar at the top and select "Central Coast Express Advocate" (either Gosford or Wyong) from Local News - it will bring up the local edition. Next week you will probably have to select the date as well, looks like they have changed their online viewing.

I hope for the sake of the family, that the media will assist here and get this picture out, so that if it a case of mistaken identity, it can be cleared up. Otherwise they can begin to follow this as a lead. Always hoping for a positive outcome.

Hello,
When you look at this picture that Leisl's Father says could be her, you can see that she has been a competitor in the sport on that day as she has a letter on her right calf. It may be possible to follow up with the Event Management Team and gather further information from that day and yes, very possibly identify this woman. If the investigation went to plan you should be able to get a name and maybe address as you think you would have to present identification to enter such an event?

I am sure Mr Smith would be on to this already. But I have asked myself that if I was Leisl and I was trying to hide then I wouldn't be taking part of a public event covered by media. Also, if I didn't want to be found I would hope that my Dad would understand that publically pointing out where I may be could potentially be dangerous for me? Just my opinion, and yes everyone deals with things differently.

I personally and I know so many others are waiting on what the authorities have to say next as they have gathered evidence to lead them to publically announce that the case is now a homicide and I thought you couldn't have a homicide without a body or proof at least of some sort? I do hope since the Police have announced their search and information on finding some items an interviewing this person if interest (whom in cyberhorse forum someone implicates that he may have been Leisl's boyfriend!) and his information, that Leisl's story can somehow take some shape and we may all get to know what happened.

After all if she had met with foul play, this leaves the community concerned for their own safety.

Leaving no stone unturned.

I can't enlarge that picture enough to see what's on the woman's leg, anyone else?
